Neiman Marcus lost its cache a long time ago when it went public. I shopped there for years. However, the quality of some of the merchandise went down. The Dallas store at North Park Mall had clothes in their showroom windows that looked like they belonged in a J. Jill Store. I would hate to see them become another Macy's. Pretty soon there won't be any exclusive retailers left in the United States. Corporate greed in the 80s is the reason. As long as the retailers were family owned they kept their mystique. Then the corporate CEOs came in and didn't give a hoot about the stores. All they wanted was to make a fast buck and leave with a golden parachute.
