We really didn’t deserve Gerrard. Imagine him under Klopp these days, that’s what he deserved as a player at the very least.
KUNGFUKORBS would be ruthless easily won the prem last year if he was here
Gerrard and carra in last seasons liverpool side would of won the title
GE55ARD WILL RETURN HOME TO LIVERPOOL 1 DAY AND IT WILL BE SAD TO SEE HIM GO AS THE GUY IS A LEGEND AT LIVERPOOL AND RANGERS !
As a Rangers fan, we do deserve Gerrard.
Stevie G is maybe a better manager than he was a player. That's a scary thought.
He is a legend now at 2 clubs.
Nobody is bigger than Liverpool
He said it was uncomfortable 'at the end' under Hodgson, like it is at the end of most Managerial reigns. Bit of a misquote in the title.
Eh that's CZcams, gotta clickbait.
mortdog report this video
The01t Stevie would do soon
Tbf Roy Hodgson's end started when he signed for us.
+Nameless ! haha I like that 😊
As a Utd fan I can honestly say I never got the impression that Gerard was anything less than 100% committed to LFC. Proper player and professional.
Except when he put in a transfer request
Lol yeah exactly, 100% until Chelsea and Mourinho came calling
And yet he stayed at LFC. So your point is...well....pointless.
oldskool because Liverpool threatened to kill his family if he left
@@oldskool4572 not really, still wanted to leave
Jesus this is such a clickbait. He never said playing for Roy period was uncomfortable he said the latter part of Roy’s tenure was uncomfortable ffs bad as usual from BT this
I agree - hate clickbait titles
Thanks. Not gonna listen to anymore then
FukcKKKBNP good major clickbait this
Yer Da tell me abiut it but I ask.. why would BT clickbait 😂 so silly
TBGameRz Who cares lol.
Proper player, imagine him in his prime in this current lfc team, a terrifying thought!
Steve Gerrard in holding midfield now would be unbeatable
Wow 😳
Lol bench at best !
Roy Hodgson?

how the hell hodgson was a manager of Liverpool and england i still don't understand
Well, he did get Fulham in UEFA cup final.

charlierichards. Wtf r u talking about
He was manager of the Swiss national team during the 1994 World Cup when they were ranked 5th in the world. He's highly respected in Switzerland.
Peoplle sayong Bruno miss that man united penalty om purpose yesterday like stevie G
I never had any animosity towards Hodgson. He created that after he left saying, "The fans turned on me". He was never booed or jeered, he had the opportunity to change things. I think his entire problem was that he saw us as Fulham but with a big name, he never changed his playing style. Liverpool, we looked like we were cowering to Wolves and Blackpool in games, it was ridiculous. When Kenny came in he had an attitude of, "right, I know we can lift a trophy (which we did), but I'm also going to play fearless football with an average squad." That's all Liverpool fans wanted to see under Hodgson, he had the back spine of Reina, Carragher, Gerrard, what was he afraid of? That's why it was a crisis era.
Replacing Rafa for Hodgson was just ludicrous
Hodgson should have never been a manager at liverpool , disaster.
Hodgson should never have been a manager full stop!
Agreed! Just a pub manager
@@nw6231 Took a team like Fulham to a EUFA cup final. he saved Palace from relegation and they're now 9th, So he can't be that bad.
Imagine Gerrard was also playing under him in the national team. He even managed to get a job in the England national team.
@@CB-xr1eg very true, but just think the liverpool job was too much, liverpool totally different history and ethos to Palace or Fulham, nothing against the man, just didn't fit liverpool. Ynwa
Maccers was a bit angry here
"If Liverpool didn't have a manager I would still give exactly the same commitment and desire" man could the winey players who don't feel "loved" could learn from Stevie
He deffo missed a pen to get Hodgson sacked
Ben Kelly which pen?
Juwal Ahmed Blackburn
Best pen Gerard ever missed then!
yea well in stevie
Its hard to play your best in a toxic atmosphere, doubt it was missed deliberately, and even if it were Cookie's comment would be spot on
Stoke under Hughes were statistically the least pressing team in the Prem. Under Lambert, they are the most pressing team in the Prem. It's not that the players went trying under Hughes, it's that Lambert has brought in a new play style that demands more hard work. Pressing is more physically taxing than sitting back. I think that's all was meant by Butland's statement.
Pressed so hard they got relegated. Great choice of manager mate
This aged well.
@@THOMASCOLTON1 Pressing on in the Championship!
Steven Gerrard has been an field legend remember them smashers in or outside the box v teams v countries, yeah well all players even Steve mcmana had his Liverpool england history Owen Hargreaves,

Jermain Jenas overrated. Can't even commentate.
hodgson is at the level of allardyce, or pulis. not BAD managers in any objective sense, but never top level. never good enough to manage a top six English club, or a top Spanish, Italian, or German club.

Considering Kenny’s talent as a manager, I am surprised he’s not been in the game more over the last ten to fifteen years.
Kenny isn’t actually a good manager tactically, he’s a good man manager. Even at Blackburn, he hardly coached them, ask Shearer, Kenny just gave them confidence and freedom. This is why Kenny didn’t stick around as manager
McManaman struggling to censor himself 😂
Mcmanaman has a bit of a cheek talking about commitment to Liverpool, didn't he leave on a Bosman to Madrid?
Well he stayed till his contract ended, he never was in breach of contract was he !?

This conversation stem from a conversation about Arsenal/Wenger?
Macca trying to be a hard man to impress Gerrard 😂
McManaman looks good for his age
such a nice compliment in the hostile internet world
He was the main reason I supported Liverpool.
This is a joke right?
yes nice hair
Where's his eyebrows??
Gerrard may well have it in him to make a good manger. I’m calling it. Not saying he will be Pep or Jose though. Gerrard seems a bright enough guy but Pep and Jose are intelligent men, there is a strong correlation between outright intelligence and quality as a manger. Sounds almost simplistic but that doesn’t make it less true.
Suspect is hatless! Just to be clear I don’t think Gerrard is as intelligent as Pep and Jose and therefore won’t be that level, but he can make a good manager I reckon, some of his personality traits are telling, he clearly has a lot of good qualities outside of the fact he was a good player.
G. Neville
Does this ring a bell?
Agent. K. One example of a good player who turned out to be a bad manager. Gj.

And "best pundit ". Criticizing is always easier.
Luke Strachan he is a fantastic manager we love him 🇬🇧🇬🇧
McManaman is 100% spot on....look at what's happening at United. One player thinks he is above the club and can do whatever he wants and all of a sudden all of them start lagging behind!
The title is Mis-leading, he’s referring to the atmosphere that the fans created
The days of Hodgson were by far the worst I’ve experienced on the kop, shocking football and signings
Stevie is a real G 👌🏾
Roy can handle mid to lower table team, but to take over from Rafa is too much to expect, even Rodgers can't do what Daglish did in one season, Rodgers had 3 and a half and no cup final. Klopp is heading the right direction.2 cup finals in half a season and just one season to get us back in UCL and the final in his first try againts the defending champion.
This is misquoted as the video title contains quotation marks..not expected from a channels official CZcams channel..
He was soo under rated
I am not a liverpool fan by any means but Gerrard was top class
Stevie & Macca sending the pitch of the conversation into the stratosphere...
So glad it didn't work out for Roy at LFC... He has been so grate for palace in the last 4 yrs.
I adore Gerrard 🥰❤
McManaman had to stop himself cursing three times in a row - thinking of players not trying.
Best english midfielder in history period.
People tend to forget Lingard when they say this.
I'm a Liverpool fan and have obviously always been a huge fan of Gerrard but I think in the grand scheme of things, Lampard was better.
@@DjDolHaus86 Not a real Liverpool fan saying stuff like that. Gerrard was a better all round player, more passionate, better leader. Now stop talking bollocks
Lampard always had a really solid defense behind him Stevie had to do everything at LIverpool defend, create , score Stevie was a just a little bit better
TjDolHaus86 Lampard was third best to Scholes and Gerrard
some players are allowed to give less because they always turn up on the day. fact.
The quote wasn’t even a quote, he said ‘at the end’
Paul konchesky was the nail on the coffin
and Christian Poulsen.. These are the players roy thought would return us to glory
We don't have a single player like Gerrard in the our squad today. That was a the difference between the crisis now and the crisis we were in in January 2011. It is far worse today
Oh captain my captain!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Blaming the fans for the players not playing with confidence rather than Woy's dinosaur tactics is hilarious. Remember one game at Anfield against Wolves where we lost, pretty sure Reina had more touches on the ball than our centre forward that day.
Will we ever get fans in stadiums in the U.K again? Missing this man and ibrox so much
Really motivating to see this
1:26 jenas’ pointing as if any of his points are valid😂
Legend
Ye, maybe the quote is wrong, but it doesn't have to be specific to show that they were uncomfortable under roy, they use other phrases or words to show it. Don't get butthurt.
In my opinion (carefully considered) Gerrard is the best ever Liverpool player.
STEVE GERRARD=LEGEND YNWA
I remember watch players like Glenn Johnson he didn’t even want the ball and would often just boot it across field to get it as far away from him as possible, but we needed hogdson at that time the club was a mess at the time and even king Kenny would have found it hard to turn it around and it could have damaged his reputation at the club.
When Hodgerson said i hope Alex Ferguson for gives him for managing Liverpool i felt like strangling the cvnt
Hodgerson?🤣🤣🤣
Gerrard didn't fail Liverpool
Liverpool failed Gerrard, he deserved so much more and better teammates.
We all knew “Woy” was the wrong choice as soon as he was announced
The Scouse on the left just repeats what the other two say just more dramatically
The Scouse on the left was one of the best players Liverpool ever had pal.
@@arveyilleszender5809 not ever, but he was our best player in a dire period. Overall wouldn’t say he’s in the very best ever at Liverpool
@@NotSoRandom_ His form for Liverpool was excellent and he went on to show his class at Real. If the Liverpool team he played in could defend he'd have won several trophies with them.
@@Nimr187 Yh in hindsight I might’ve played down his contribution and eliteness, despite the lack of accolades at Liverpool. He is defo in terms of talent one of our best, but I always hav a separate tier for players like King Kenny Stevie G Suarez VVD and Prime Torres

And he did always give the same desire
Hiring Solskjaer full time was like hiring Dalglish full time. Temporary lift followed by failure.
Kenny at least won a trophy though.
Kenny may have given the club a brief lift,, but times have changed in football compared to the 1980’s and he was quickly found to be totally out of his depth. Plus he spent nearly £40 million on Andy Carroll. Insanity.
he also bought in Suarez doe
Suarez- 22m
Henderson - 16m

Disappointing in the Prem but not a bad return for a man who had been out of the game for 12 years prior to that.

Fascinating to get these opinions from the 2 pool legends
I had to switch off when Mcmanaman started talking. Terrible pundit.
Good interview. But he doesn't say that does he
I believe if no one was hired as manager, I'm sure Stevie would've became player-manager.
Interesting dialogue looking into the pressure and confidence paradigm.
I love liverpool and I love stevie but my god if he ever took the reigns of liverpool his press conferences will be so boring in comparison to klopp, really not looking forward to that! That said, hope he proves himself to the point he can take liverpool forward again.
Let’s hope he comes to Liverpool when he’s ready and wins many trophies
downvoted for clickbait title. otherwise would have been up.
Hodgson is a shocker of a manager.
he's good when working with a smaller list of players on a tight budget, not really made for clubs with a huge roster of stars
@@alecc_a7585never given good signing he did well with the resources available to HIM.
So why we're results so poor under Kenny then Steve?
He took us to our first silverware in 6 years and guided us from toward the bottom of the league to a top 10 finish with the likes of Christian Poulsen and Joe Cole.
I can never work out how a manager can be inept at a club...and then is given THE top job: International Manager.
Because of his good times at crystal place and fulham
No substance Stevie? The only stat that was better under Hughes was tackles. Almost 100 more sprints per game. 15 more duels won. I'd say that's some substance.
Cameron Walton jack butland
That's the one.
It's great that Liverpool has reach another European final but will they be able to avoid relegation next season?
How's that looking so far ?
What is that noise Gerrard makes as soon as the video starts? LMAO.
I’m a proud scouse but some of the behaviour of lfc fans towards the end of Roy’s reign was disgusting
Should Woy have been given more time? Was it more a psychological issue with him not being a 'big' manager? Kenny's full season was awful, despite the cup runs.
In the atmosphere under Roy*
Roy arrived at the club in it's worst moment in modern history. With those cowboys in charge there was no way he was going to get any quality signings. What happened under his management wasn't entirely his fault.
Having to sign players like Poulson and Konchesky didn't help.
Why is gerrard so prickly? Is that why he punched that little guy in the pub? With his big mates backing him up.
Gerrard and Carra went behind Rafa's back and recommended Roy to the board.
What a clickbait
Fabinho, gerrard, Thiago....maybe if he becomes manager?
Who’s Kenny
One of the greatest players EVER to wear a Liverpool shirt. And manager
A Knight.
The greatest ever Liverpool player
Click bait title. Should be ashamed of yourselves.
HE'S A FANNY
I like the way McManaman nods and chips in to Gerrard's comment about giving 100% every day regardless of the manager ...
This is coming from a local Liverpool player who nearly left for Chelsea to get a bigger contract, can't stand him anymore. ill give him 12 months if he gets the Liverpool job and he will be out on his ear.
Be quiet
this guy is going to be one of the very best he is only 39 ffs

People are forgetting souness. Hodgson in a short period of time was bad, bloody awful actually but in almost three years, Souness took a league winning team and turned them into also rans. Granted Kenny had left an aging team when he resigned in 91, but souness completely ripped us apart. It wasn't united who knocked us off our perch, it was souness. We've never truly recovered.
Tim Guttesen it was David Moores' fault actually. Too naïve to adapt modern football and in the end sold us to the American clowns. I still hate him. I hope he and his cronies rot in the deepest hell
Gary Dodgson ah for the days of that season when we won three cups. Thanks to Gérard Houlier. Shame he couldn't get that success carried over into the league. I hope klopp can take this Liverpool team and make them tougher and stronger than they are, and then we'll be talking
