- Something a little different for this channel...
Fly fishing is something that has been a part of my "trad life" for a long, long time. It's only been for about the last 6 years I've fly fished for carp...and I am absolutely "hooked"!

Being an avid trad bow hunter and fly fisherman I Love the fly fishing videos as well. I see a-lot of trad guys that fly fish as well. I believe they go hand in hand. Keep

Awesome video Curt! I'm also a big fan of the struggle stick, whether it's a recurve or a long rod and homemade flies!
Very much enjoyed that, so jealous of that nice shallow clear river. Bet you wish you had a fighting butt on that rod😁, sure is nice to plant that thing and lean on them. Great job on the video, not an easy thing to do.
Thank you Charlie! I have an 8wt. with a butt, but I like the fight on the 6 wt. especially on the smallies. But I have thought about DIY'ing a fighting butt on the 6 wt.
I'm in the same boat, 8 and 6 are same as yours. The river wiper keep me throwing the 8wt.

Awesome video. I am also a fly fisherman and have been wanting to try carp for some time. I’ve actually cast to a few with nymphs but now I see I need to try a bigger pattern. Lol
I was able to catch a few flounder last week on heavyweight clouser.

Great job Curt. What weight tippet are you using? I just relocated to NC from Miami, some really good carp fishing here, I'm told. The Orvis shop here even does carp fly fishing workshops. Jim Dussias
