Im excited to bring you my first youtube video. I had just recently picked up my first camera (Nikon D5300) and decided to shoot a video on my 2015 Yamaha FZ 09. I am open for critique and your thoughts for my video. I will admit i was a little nervous for my first recording. Im sure i missed a lot of in depth topics on the new Fz 09 and could have made the video more interesting, but bear with me for there are future videos to come. Like the video if you truly enjoyed it and leave comments on your thoughts or any questions you may have. I look forward to bringing everyone more content. Sick looking bike. First time I've seen the asymmetrical windscreen and I like it.
One thing I didn't like - your camera's auto-focus sound drove me nuts!

Great walkaround! Rode and reviewed the 2015 FZ-09 and posted a vid yesterday, loved it. Needs stiffer springs if you are going to push it hard in the corners, custom seat and a pipe (maybe a fly screen) but that's about it. Great ride and great value!

Dude! I just got one in the exact same color. I've only had it for two weeks and I've already put 600 miles on it. This bike is awesome! Digging your upgrades too! I plan on getting an M4 exhaust for mine!

Tst industries has lots of well made mods for the fz09. I just finished my black 2016 fz09 today. She looks good!
Yeah i really like the FZ 09, thinking about getting one i been riding for 46 years 1970 a 175 honda, 1972 a 750 honda, 1975 900 kawasaki 1983 V65 honda, i also had a yamaha 360 scrambler, also a 1972 750 H2 Kawasaki, a Norton 750 Commando, and another V65 honda, the FZ 09 is just about the same speed and power as the V65 i am used to certainly more high tech though. 1983 the V65 was the king of speed with 120 hp and 10 sec 1/4, 1985 yamaha brought out the 150 hp V Max always wanted one but never did own one. I have short legs so i am looking into lowering parts prior to buying. see if i can bring seat height down 1 or 2 " Be Careful out there always keep good distance between you and cars around you. REMEMBER no matter who is in the right the guy on the motor bike loses,... Keep Safe

What kind of bar end adapters do you have on the bike. I have the same mirrors and handlebar on my fz09 but haven’t been able to put the mirrors on cause I can’t find the right end bar adapters.
What color windscreen did you pick? The polished, satined, or the dark smoke?
What are your front turn signals? And where did you get them?

Don't own one, have a ST, but I like the fly screen and overall look. I think is lot of bike for the price.
I like the way you mod! Classy but useful! How long did you run the stock mirrors before you went to bar end? I think its a good look but IDK if I can adjust!
Chris Pritchard Just a couple weeks. They don't shake when your riding, and you can still see things. Two major differences i noticed was that you couldn't see as far back as the OEM mirrors (looking for cops), and if you lane split you can't fit in tight spaces anymore. Thinking about just running with 1

+EC SpecialisT No the dealership i bought it from did not have that option. However I'm sure you can bribe the salesman to include something into the price. Or atleast a discount. I decided to go with a new brand this time around and i love it. Video coming soon!
Hey man, i have a question about the rear blinkers. i just got a set of the lightech led turn signals but i was curious if you just spliced yours or how you went about wiring the rear?
yes I just used butt connectors to connect wires from aftermarket lights to oem wires
Use manual focus when filming with a DSLR, takes a little practise to get it looking smooth but a lot better than the autofocus noise. Apart from that great overview buddy.
Gas Junkies Ya when i shot the video i had no idea it was making that noise. I will definitely Try Auto Focus on my next vid. Thanks for the Help!

Gen x fly screen. they are just smoked flush blinkers from eBay on the front and LED ones for the back
bad ass bike bro!!! i may have to copy your bike , i like the mods and the colors , is it as fun as it looks , ??? i used to rifde the ss , but i cant buy a harley , but no more modded out supersports , to uncomfortable , and i got a bad back , so this bike looks like its just what the dr ordered!!👊👊
Your bike looks awesome! I have a 2014 FZ-09, I sent my ECU to Two Wheel Dynoworks in Woodinville,Wa for a re-flash and that eliminated the snatchy throttle response, great people to work with. I really like your mirrors and front turn signals, who did you buy them from? I'm looking at installing cartridge kits in the forks and a Penske triple clicker rear shock to cure the suspension issues. Also thinking about installing a steering stabilizer.
catwrench3 Thanks! When i get my exhaust i am also getting a bazazz so I'm wondering when i get it mapped if that will help the twitchy throttle (Not Sure). As for the mirrors and turn signals, i have a link below for the signals. The seller i bought my mirrors from is out of stock but they are just CNC bar end mirrors 7/8" on ebay. The suspension upgrades are just so DAMN expensive, i am going to have to keep saving for those items. Hope this helped.

For that windscreen do I need to buy a bracket or support?

do I just use my oem screws and bam installed?

That windscreen comes with its own bracket and uses the allen key bolts thats already on the bike to attach

Perry K. Opposite. Slighty hunched over more. I currently have a bad back and was worried they would be too low, however i am quite pleased with them. Gives the bike a more aggressive look.
When your camera is focusing, it sounds like a beat is about to drop. lol
The focus noise is making me go crazy. I think ALL youtubers should start using manual focus if they can because it makes things a lot faster to focus.

DJ-Skovsnegl I guess it uses a really loud motor for focusing

On the flush mount blinkers and did you have to purchase the back plate for them also??
Perry K. Yes. You will need the plate for backing once removing the rubber piece previously in its place

Great looking bike, great video. Did you have a hard time choosing between the fz-09 and fz-07? Perhaps you can address this on your next video. I'm looking into both and would appreciate some perspective. Thanks.
Alfredo Sanchez i chose the fz 09 because i wanted more cc than my last motorcycle. The fz 07 just didn't quite cut it. But thats not to say its not a great FUN bike. If this is your first motorcycle i assure you won't regret the fz 07. If you like the front wheel to come up more, then i would choose the fz 09.
why the bar upgrade? what difference does it make? i want a narrower bar for lane splitting.

super fz09 Its funny you commented on my video because i remember watching yours before i ever purchased mine. The one where its getting detailed in parking garage or something. I love that rear shock you have. Thats definitely on my wish list. Have you adjusted your front forks?

Was thinking of getting an R6 or R1 but seeing this bike made me change my mind. Where did you get the windscreen/front cowl from? I like that its a simple mode that makes the bike look more bad ass than it already does.....

Is the screen easy to assemble? I just got my Fabbri Gen-X Dark Smoke screen delivered but the instructions are in Italian. Doesn't seem to have that many parts, so I'd guess it's an easy assembly without instructions. I don't have my MT 09 yet it's being delivered so I can't really try installing the screen just yet...
yes it took me a little time to figure it out. you just need to make sure you use the right brackets in right spots. took me about 1hr to figure out

Hmmmm..... I like it!.....got a 2014 MT-09 here in Cape Town South Africa only thing I don't like is the two rear view mirrors ........they wouldn't last long here in between the traffic they increase the length of the Handel bars far to much, I'd get taken out within a day of riding.
+Tony Branco yessssss i agree. I am very cautious in between vehicles now. I am thinking about just running 1 because 2 just seems to be tooooo wide!
Did you cut the dashed lines out on your rim tape? The pattern looks sick and really enhances the stock wheels. The factory blue wheels are a little kitschy looking in my opinion.
+Paintbl99 it came on tape and you laid it in 4 sections on each rim. it was precut ready to stick in patterns

Are the ProTaper bars wider? Are they lower?
+Nick M I think they were a little wider. Not much though. WAY lower. not clubman low though. just a little more sporty
Possibly a good mod. Did you know that the 09's clutch cable was a touch short resulting in breakages? Lower bars cures this.

super fz09 I'm constantly using my work email so that would be fine.....Jarrad@kingsburgtruckcenter.com. Im no expert on motorcycles (still teaching myself) but i will try to answer any questions. And i do have a few questions about suspension.
Got a question for you. Did you buy the bike new? Cause holy crap the chain is making crazy noise like its super loose. Talked to the dealer and they said that i should wait until the break in period. But you dont have to be a genius to know that somethings wrong.....
+Carlos Berrios yes i bought the bike off the showroom floor. when my bike is on my pitiful it seems like it makes a little to much noise. Sometimes when you buy a motorcycle make sure they have properly lubricated your chain. i would clean it and lube it yourself one day and see if it still makes noise. You should not be able to hear it whining while you are cruising down the street.

sexy... I hear nothing but good things about the fz07 and fz09.
Using a camera WITHOUT a pronounced wide angle lens(such as in the go-pro type) makes the motorcycle look better right off the bat. Focusing sound is annoying, though.
Dude go ride that bike! She is barely even broken in.

The single worst thing on the bike is the tail light. It looks like they took it from Another bike. There are some good cheap option.
One thing id love to see happen is for the stupid auto focus sound to go away.
