I met Bill Eadie about ten years ago, he was a nice guy. I talked with him for about 15-20 minutes. I told him he was one of my childhood heroes and he seemed very flattered and touched by that.
I once sat down and had a chat with him backstage at a match. He was the exact same as he was in this video, could not have been a nicer guy. He didn't have much nice to say about the WWF, especially about Vince McMahon.
I met Bill Eadie at the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. Very nice guy.
He was absolutely terrifying as Axe in the Demolition. His voice was so gravelly and booming. One of the best and most intimidating Mic men ever. What an incredible performer.
So true. Like I said elsewhere, Smash and especially Ax used to shake me up in fear with their promos.
Bill Eadie is one of the best guys I've ever met. Great great man in this business.

I was lucky and privileged to grow up in Greenville, SC (3:50) the buckle of the Mid-Atlantic territory and watch the Superstar as a 10-12 year old. His flying clothesline to me is still one of the sweetest moves ever.
chazatlas I grew up in the Midwest, but I was lucky enough to have Cable TV in the days when it was a rarity and I got to see the Superstar on WTBS in the early 1980’s......dude was a badass
Didn't realize how soft-spoken Bill is. It's hard to picture him not screaming. He sounds like Monsoon.

Demolition Ax, Demolition Crush, and Demolition Smash thrilled the audiences whether they were heels or babfaces.
Ax reminds me of some of the coolest, most knowledgeable Professors I had that you respected & could listen to for HOURS...
Actually, I believe Bill was a classroom teacher for a while. Very intelligent guy.

This guy proves to me that a lot of these wrestlers are very smart and articulate and more so know themselves and what they could do. I hope that writers listen more to the talent. Listening-=Better product=More Money
Always loved Ax as a kid. Remember my aunt staying the night after traveling a few hours to stay at my parents place for x-mas & giving me crap the next day for the Demolition poster above my bed. Guy had the best promo voice of all time.
I became a fan of his when he was known as "The Superstar" in Georgia World Championship Wrestling. He and "The Super D" were my favorite tag team. Still can't believe he was one half of "Demolition". I always thought the "Demolition" was a rip off from "The Road Warriors".

Man, I am going to be honest when I say I do not know a DAMN thing about Bill Eadie besides the fact that he was 'Ax' in Demolition. This shoot sounds awesome AND very educational! I need to BUY it!!!!!

This one is really good. Bill books it well. Unlike All Snow, Bill delivers information without putting down the audience.

I wasn't sure about this title when I first saw this on the release calender. I didn't know who Bill Eadie was into I checked and saw he was in Demolition. Didn't know he was a booker. This release looks very interesting.
Masked Superstar was over everywhere he went, main eventer in every promotion. You can look up the cards yourself from the territories he worked, I don't need to because I witnessed the product with my own eyes. Mid-Atlantic/Georgia/WWF/Japan, a top guy everywhere he went as a singles wrestler.
Quite possibly one of my all time favorites!
Watching the Masked Superstar when I was young, believe it or not he influenced my life and career choice as a good guy. His personality overall as a good guy somewhat made me help others and always want to do good. I would want to meet him someday to tell him how he influenced me and and chose my path.
This guy had probably the scariest screaming voice ever during his promos.

Hell yes, Ax and Smash used to scare the hell out of me as a kid with their promos, especially Ax.
He really hasn’t aged much. He looked in his late 40’s in the late 80’s. Many years later he’s kept himself in about the same health.
Bill has said in other interviews that he could go places and no fan would bother him because no one knew that he was a wrestler that wore a mask, unlike Flair and Ricky Steamboat and others.

When you heard demoliton's promo's it was intense screaming and shouting. To Hear Bill speak in an almost hushed reverential tone like this threw me completely. Here he seems like the uncle you actually get along with.
Quite Possibly the One Who Snuck a $20 or $50 into Your Hand as He Was Shaking Your's &/or Hugging You as He Whispers "Don't Spend It All in One Place" into Your Ear
He , Jake Roberts , and Jody Hamilton were the best heel interview .

I seen Bill Eadle wrestling in an independent show several years ago; as Demolition Axe he was tough on his opponent between the ring and the stands was was a metal fence Axe was pounding his opponent's head into the fence

@Pulpedtoafiction31 That was a little part of it, though I'd dispute Crush's inexperience, but the real reason was that when Demolition started they were a third-rate Road Warrior wannabe team. When they split with Fuji and became goodguys they managed to stand out on their own but then Hawk & Animal came to the WWF and that was it. When the LOD was around no imitators were tolerated.
@TeslaDRay I never did like the way Demolition turned heel at that time, seemed very forced. WWF didn't have enough tag teams at the time and had to make one of them heel to keep the division going. Bill Eadie had serious back problems, so they brought in Crush to keep Demolition going. He didn't have much nice to say about the WWF and Vince McMahon, it sounded like his WWF days weren't the best of his career, he preferred his Masked Superstar character to Ax.
Vince should make a new demolition with Ax as the manager.

I got it! I finally figured out who Bill looks like. He looks like Lon Cheney, Jr (The Wolf Man). On top of that, a great interview!
@toucansam3 I think another reason why they brought in Crush and turned them heel, was at the time they were in negociations with Hawk and Animal, and face vs. face feuds were very uncommon at the time.
Demolition looked like the biggest freaks ever but they’re the most chill down to earth people in the industry.

If you wasn't watching back then you have no idea how over demolition was even as heels. The main evented a sold out house show I attended & everyone was wearing thier shirt. Honestly I can't remember a tag team being as red hot as Demolition.
Eadie was awesome as the masked superstar.

@TeslaDRay I've never heard that one before. I didn't ask him about Crush or leaving Demolition, but I did ask him if he keeps in touch with Smash still and he said he hadn't spoken to him in nearly 10 years, and that was 10 years ago.

as much of an LOD fan i was then and still am now...i agree, because animal and hawk were in NWA and AWA for most of their professional careers. compare this to their time in the wwf which spanned form late 1990-mid 1992..

@AdoublesLdouble From what I understand, Demolition was created by WWF in the first place in order to counter the Road Warriors in the NWA. So when they brought them in (as LOD) they had to do something with Demolition, they couldn't keep both face-painted, bad-ass tag teams on the same side, so it was the obvious decision, I just wish they had done the heel turn in a more traditional fashion instead of just making them heel all of a sudden.

yes...had short feuds with power and glory and the natural disasters, but their last 8 months in the federation, LOD's only notable match was against the rockers in december '91...and the match focused more on the growing rift between shawn michaels and marty janetty as their quarrelling session afterward lasted longer than the match itself..

Krush sucked when he became one of Demolition ,He plainly wasn't ready for there style
I didn't respect Krush until he came back from jail using The Heart punch and the tat on his forehead was awesome

@PureDynamiteKid Yeah Smash had the attitude, Ax was the brains, and crush was just horrible. I can't say too much until I actually see the full interview but it seems like Smash and Crush made it hard for Demolition to stay together.

@jonstone95 No, they will. Look at Wendi Richter, Vince screwed her over at MSG and they ended up bringing her in to be inducted to the HOF. Sable sued them and Vince brought her back. Plus, Demolition has a legends contract now. They will be in.

@D2Kprime Eddie Got in because of his Passing and the wrestling world's love for him and Vince's affection for him so that comparison won't fly and even Austin and HBK will say that Eddie deserved to get in when he did same with Edge, And Demolition aren't even Legends in the WWE yet lol that's why the ONLY time they've been mentioned in the last 10 years was when London and Kendrick surpassed their length in tag title reign whereas the LOD have been often mentioned on WWE TV

Wrestling never got stale because fresh talent would come in from somewhere ekse and work a new fresh angle . Now its whatever is Vinces whim is what you will get . If he cannot merchandise to a geberal audience that guy you love will not fet pushed . He doesn't care about wrestling nor the fans who he hates . He only cares about branding to the lowest common denominator . And don't think he will allow you to see what you want somewhere else either . He does some shady shit to keep your optio s limited to him , like screwing over the indies as much as he can . McMahon killed wrestling .

The Roadwarrior effect ...people stopped wanting to see a dramatic seesaw battle between two evenly matched opponents to wanting to see people crushed and dominated . Today you could not have a Dory Funk vs Jack Brisco match , A Bret Hart vs Curt Hennig match .... people have been epre educated as to what a good wrestling match is ....lots of highspots in a squash match for the main event .

I would love to have him be a part of my organization if I had one . His business IQ is pretty impressive and he is honest .No bullshit . If Jim Cornette did not have that infamous bad temper I would want him too . He just burns out from trying too damned hard . Another would be Jody Hamilton in at leadt an advisory position as he is in his eighties .The territory system was the readon wrestling never got stale . It can come back but WWE fans need to grow up . WwE is why wrestling struggles . Vince does not like wrestling , he likes merchandising . So good wrestling that does not have as much generic merchandising appeal is a threat to him . He will run shows the same week in your area during your biggest shows just to cut your nuts . Quit bitching and stop watching and funding WWE . They are the problem .
