We just do free shipping on everything. 5% off for two items, 10% off for three or more. We save on shipping with multiple items, so we pass that savings on to the customers. It seems to work for us. Most of our customers buy at least two items.
I agree. The only downside of free shipping is that when customer returns a purchase you still have to refund the full amount and you are left with the shipping bill that you have paid to get that order to that customer..
How exactly do you set this up in your shopify store? Not the pricing but the tiered qty discount?

Hi! Between offering free shipping on any order OR free shipping after minimum order spend (ie free shipping over $100) which do you recommend have found drive more sales conversions? Common sense says tat free shipping for any size order is better or is there science behind minimum order value incentive? From your video, looks like the customer spends more increasing AOV either way?
How do you set the incentivised free shipping up in shopify to pop up and say "Just $5 more..."

The problem with Free Shipping in Canada is that it costs an arm & a leg!
It is, absolutely. Once you start to know your lifetime value of your customer and get better margins you could offer it and stand out, but don't do it and lose money. - Aaron
