Tetsuo is a true master of bass, and this bass line is both killer and insane!!! I mean to be able to hold up that bass line for almost 9 minutes ......man, that's outstanding!!!
this may be two years late, but look at them when they are playing together. There are places when you see them all looking at each other smiling and laughing, that obviously means that they are enjoying the music so why would other people not enjoy its musical value?
the is great pocket and soloing at it's best for a group of musicians. Everyone nails there part.They are together when they should be and when they go on there own....each musicians shuts it down. Great performance.
@Joncalarvo well since the song title is "Brain Storm" it makes sense that there is a lot going on! it is a storm in my brain caused by these magnificent musicians that are creating a hurricane in my brain and I'm as happy as can be.
Greg Howe is from that class of shredders that came out in the late 90's -- came out along with Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, Tony MacAlpine, Yngwie, Malmsteen, and those guys.
NotYourTypicalNegro what¿ Late 90's. More like 1983 early 80's, everyone you mentioned save Greg Howe. I think his first solo album came out in the early 90's(93' I think) Paul Gilbert was popular before he was in that popular band with Billy Sheen on bass and that band came out in 89'. Just sayin' because I lived through it. I had Yngwie Malmsteen third album trilogy brand new in 85'. Racer X was Mcalpines band also 80's but had some fusion influence and he played with fusion musicians Steve Smith played with Racer X. Ok so I know of one before Cab(2000) Howe is more influenced by Allan Holdsworth than any of the cats you mentioned. Yngwie was classical metal wich wasn't 100% new but the first to take the metal sound into complex classical music. Jazz-Fusion already did it to a degree it just had so much more to it than a jazz and rock hybrid. Yngwie Malmsteen with a hybrid of classical and Rock Only. He was very successful at it. But Greg Howe is only similar to McAlpine in the Hybrid fusion influence but they are very different players
esta rola la escuche tambien con V. wooten e igual con los mismos dennis chamber en la bataka y greg howe en la guitar... son unos musicos bien locos....
@misterguti14 Finally, intelligent life on Earth! I saw some negative comments about the bass line, but the fact here is that it doesn't matter if you liked how it sounds or not, because it's FREAKING AWESOME either way. Even with the bad recording quality, I heard it quite well. This is another level of music and it doesn't need to be "easy-listening" all the time, 'cause sometimes it's just about exploring different skills from the instrument and the musician. Congrats for recognizing that ;]
in know your ideal band is vai on guitar, flea on bass, ulrich on drums, justin timberlake on vocals and satriani on the sunglasses. you missed your channel, this is fusion...
@PaulHanafinMusic Hi Paul! Judging by your channel you're the Paul Hanafin based in Darlo? This is Dave from the BMus!!! Hope you're well. I agree with your point like, but musicians like this don't just play this self-indulgent stuff. Dennis Chambers (as im sure you know) has the deepest pocket of any drummer i've ever heard, and Greg Howe can play melodies (every now and again!). This song is no doubt just a technical exercise, but you have to applaud the effort and work that's gone in to it.
..can't we just all agree that these are great musicians making great music??..though i do wish howe would've done something more melodically interesting in 3:17-4:01..tetsuo definitely still has those funky solos since his casiopea days..
This is straight out of a video game soundtrack and it couldn't be any better. This is absolutely fantastic.
Tetsuo has amazing endurance to play that busy for 8 minutes. The show must have been aewsome live.
to be that good, WITH A 6 STRING!! is just insane. Hat's off to you, mate...
なつかしいですねライブ見に行きましたよ
ドラムの音圧が凄すぎて子供が泣いてたのを覚えてますw
Jesus this is like watching dream theater, only people this good at their instruments can play this kind of music
Tetsuo Sakurai is the Bruce Lee of bass!!
Tetsuo is amazing.
INCREDIBLE! That's Greg Howe on guitar too, isn't it? He is a master, from my home town too! Very cool stuff!
Tetsuo is a true master of bass, and this bass line is both killer and insane!!! I mean to be able to hold up that bass line for almost 9 minutes ......man, that's outstanding!!!
That bass player is nuts...
this may be two years late, but look at them when they are playing together. There are places when you see them all looking at each other smiling and laughing, that obviously means that they are enjoying the music so why would other people not enjoy its musical value?
Tetsuo's bass riffs are already equivalent to an actual solo man
howe is the best guitar player ever!!! The band is PERFECT!!!
This is by far the best fusion group I've never heard of...!
Planet X!
I know there's some trick. I think there're five guys hiding with basses and they play in order.
The great storm of Tetsuo Sakurai despite the predominance of technical
Music in its finest form.
The rest of the band is amazing too!
Bravo true masters of they're craft & they seem to enjoy every minute of this song.
Stunning - the ending was so Zappa....Thxs for this awesome post.
スラップの限界に挑戦した曲ですよね?限界に挑戦してるのに笑顔で楽しそうな櫻井さん(笑)ドラムのデニスが「これホントに弾けるのか?」って聞いたほどだったらしいよね。。。
the is great pocket and soloing at it's best for a group of musicians. Everyone nails there part.They are together when they should be and when they go on there own....each musicians shuts it down. Great performance.
This song is pure fun
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTICC!!!

@yosihumi1116 一度ライブを見たことがあるのですが、これほどの激烈なスラップを笑いながら弾いてるんですよ。人間、極めるということは凄い物です。

Does anyone know where I can find a studio version of this song? It sounds great but I'd like to know what album it's on (if it's on an album)
Christian Gonzalez gentle hearts

What's that sound at 0.01?XD
Tetsuo Samourai
i don't know if i can say anything but hello Dennis & how is larry Britte???
Wanna learn this song on drums, I don't even know where to begin.....
Why do we ALWAYS feel the need to force everyone to like what we like? Who cares if someone doesn't like or even respects the music you're diggin'?
goddamn... big D at it with those drums man
8:17-8:21 on a subwoofer was whooooaaaahh
search up bands like casiopea, t-square, and level 42..you'll find a lot of excellent music...can't go wrong with casiopea...
in know your ideal band is vai on guitar, flea on bass, ulrich on drums, justin timberlake on vocals and satriani on the sunglasses. you missed your channel, this is fusion...
HOLY FUCK.
いや、神すぎて意味がわからない(笑)
@Shaiah1 Greg Howe

*throws bass down* Fuck it!
As cool as Howe's solo was, I really prefer when these guys are jamming together.
fodera, nice strings, Aguilar full tube amp, fantastic fingers (; probly a bit of compression along the way :P
I can't stop thinking about poor Greg touring with justin timberlake! :P
Look up Stanley Clarke double slaps, or it might be a lot of hammer/pull with popped muted notes and ghosts. Pretty crazy stuff nonetheless...!
..can't we just all agree that these are great musicians making great music??..though i do wish howe would've done something more melodically interesting in 3:17-4:01..tetsuo definitely still has those funky solos since his casiopea days..
Holy fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!
like hamsters on a tread mill...really SMOKIN' hamsters!
@branden623 Victa...
@Joncalarvo I guess your ears are letting you down.
After playing this bassline your wrists may bleed or break , or other serious injury
:O dennis chamberss??
@thecool9 Took me 14 seconds to press stop
@kyokujirou2112 .....what?
........what the hell kinda argument just happened here?! lmao
The album version is good, but it misses them keyboards!
-the melody is missing, I think, but the rithm is very good
greg howe
Music moves on. You should try to. x
