Emma Hayes, stomping around, furious that her team missed a goal when they are already three up, with Arsenal at zero, is appalling behaviour. The commentator even referred to her as ruthless at that point. She’s always throwing accusations at Eideval’s behaviour on pitch side. The more I see, the less I like, I don’t care how winning her teams are. It’s great to know that Arsenal beat them in the Conti Cup final.
I enjoy watching BOTH these teams play great football! However - it was brutal watching Arsenal get outplayed, outsmarted, and “stomped” on…when…I know Arsenal is capable of far better plays and overall football! It was as though Arsenal needed an “injection” of energy, as they played a rather sluggish game, in comparison to usual. Their passes were sloppy, and their appeared as though they were unable to setup successful plays. This game certainly didn’t reveal the strengths within Arsenal’s team…nor…their capabilities and strengths! Thankfully, Kim got them on the scoreboard, even though it did little to ramp up the team with only a few finally minutes remaining in the game!
I still believe Arsenal can become a formidable team, as they certainly do not lack talent!
As much as I’m an Arsenal fan, I am equally a Chelsea fan too!
I knew this should have been a good match between 2 talented WSL teams. Even though the football was subpar by Arsenal in this match - it reveals the tough competition between elite players and teams…both are expected and required now women’s football has hit a consistent elite level.
I thought Chelsea deserved to win this match, as they consistently work extremely hard, regardless of the abundance of players on their roster - appears to be blowing up! A prime example of this was the introduction of Catarina Macario in the few final remaining minutes of the game. Now…that’s a statement! She came onto the field with such enthusiasm and vigor (bit of an understatement😉)…looking to do more damage and add a few more points to the scoreboard! And she definitely looked as though she would have, if the game hadn’t ended. Players like Macario, Nusken, and other new “blood” on the pitch will give Chelsea and other teams, who have begun to heavily recruit and INVEST in their players, will offer better football matches, making such teams, contenders to beat Barca and other top teams.
