It's only about highspeed, sound and light reflexes. Most oft the crowds prefer to stay at Brünnchen, Adenauer Forst or Pflanzgarten.
I choosed this part of the track, because there are usually no crowds and the cars move on full throttle!
It's hard to save this sound on youtube, but if you watch it life, it's a very special ambience - mindblowing stuff you will never forget.

I listen to this video 3 times a day at least. In full, max volume. Does that make me sick in the head? Awesome stuff... I've identified pretty much every car by the sound now,, so I know what's goin by..

Thanks for the info, I was experimenting with audio captures at Brands Hatch last weekend, but my efforts were ruined by lousy weather! (If you watch the videos I posted on here all you can hear is gale force wind between the engine sounds!)

About LeMans: It's very useful to experiment with positions and angles. Too much noisy crowds will destroy the sound of the cars... ;-)
Internal mic's from consumer videocams are generally rubbish. I always use a good external mic with a very good wind shield. Use a good "catskin" on your mic and gale will never be a problem anymore.
