Hello I like your penguins.
I have some very persistent mental health stuff, idk what exactly, but it makes my head all jumbly, so it's been historically very difficult for me to set and stick to a routine. I started using the free version of Notion a few months ago cos I remembered seeing your videos about it and it's been like ten hundred thousand percent easier working through day-to-day life. I'm thinking more clearly, getting a lot more done, and I have a lot more energy too.
I also have kind of a vague sense of self/identity, so I've also been using Notion to journal, keep track of my interests, and work out my values. Stuff like that. It's not so much a professional use of the software, lol, but I thought you might find it encouraging to know it can make a difference for people just trying to keep their brain intact.

@@rissamayroxDo you think we can use Milanote as a pure note-taking app? Other than for creative or planning projects but really like a taking-note app? Milanote is so smooth and nice to use it but I have doubts about long-term second brain use. What do you think about it? Thanks to you.

I tried SO hard and for SO long to understand Notion. I loved a lot of the templates, but I just don't understand the UI. The features are confusing to me, it just doesn't seem easy to learn. I imagine once you understand the feel, it gets better?
Milanote was a WHOLE new world. It was everything I wanted Notion to be for me. It's SO user friendly, simple, and easy to customize. Just sucks that it's not free...

Honestly! I hit the like button Immediately upon hearing you say "Both" at the very beginning of the video.... SOOOOOO refreshing... instead of going through a whole video of a person comparing two different things, and wanting to know what their choice is, only for them to give the "both answer!", I'll never watch their video again, you on the other hand! Filmmaker here who's been scouring the internet for production software for the past 6 hours. You sold me on both of these and I'm excited to get them. I think the use of both will create a nice bridge between professional goals and projects and personal goals and projects. Which helps so much when you're working with the duality of being a creative for a living. Thanks for the video! So so helpful.
EN : The problem is that Notion allows it to be used completely for free (only the number of people and the size of the files is limited). While Milanote is limited not at the level of collaborators but at the level of use. We start a project and we can't finish it for free because we've reached the limit of 100 notes...
FR : Le problème c'est que Notion lui permet une utilisation totale gratuitement (seul le nombre de personnes et la taille des fichiers est limitée). Alors que Milanote, c'est limité non pas au niveau des collaborateurs mais au niveau de l'utilisation. On commence un projet et on ne peut pas le finir gratuitement car on a atteint la limite des 100 notes...
The layout also changes on mobile, so the structure and organization is lost!

Yoooo i REALLY really enjoyed watching this. I wasn't planning on commenting, not that you don't deserve it, cuz you do, but rather cuz i be lazy sometimes haha, HOWEVER! when you shared your workflow on both platforms, I had to express gratitude. I'm in a space where I can no longer be unorganized as a filmmaker and just a creative in general and have doing research on different platforms, felt intimidated by them all and i guess sitting still and doing the work, but watching this video, hearing your authenticity and seeing your workflow WHILE you were actually doing executing it with this video and seeing how powerful that is and visualizing how accomplished i would feel from getting both platforms makes me feel really good, inspired, and encouraged and i just wanted to say THANK YOU for taking the time to make this. I really needed this video and very much look forward to watching your other videos as i FINALLY organize my creative life.

Thanks for this. I'm not a creative (I'm a programmer) but the descriptions of Notion and Milanote's user journeys will help me with my own process. I'll try out Milanote to bring some creative to my engineering work. I'm testing a hypothesis that the workflows used for creativity will ultimately prove more productive for software engineers than the rigid design-and-planning process that we've had for decades.

Awesome video! I'm looking into starting organizing my student work and files etc. and also something to help me plan out my time. And I'm not sure whether to try Notion or Milanote. But this was definitely helpful!
I think Notion definitely had more features that help manage / plan out your time. Milanote is definitely more of a creative / ideation space for me. It just depends on what your needs are and works best for your brain. I think both have free tiers so I say try both out before committing to one or the other. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for sharing your workflow. Wondering about Notion. In their Kanban board setup....I want a Kanban board of "quotes, in progress, finished"....as an example. I'd like to put a dollar value in each item and have it tally in one spot and auto update. Like, all jobs in progress have a value and in the tally, it shows the total value of all jobs in progress. Is this doable? Thank you.
hey what to you think about Miro Board? It seems even more flexible and free then Mila Note but also not too structured therefore. Maybe you've tried it?

Thank you, Joseph! my video making process is quite involved so maybe i’ll make a video about it if that’s ever in high demand… but to get that “dark” look it’s a matter of shooting in a flat picture profile and then playing with the contrast and saturation to your preference. this video was made in premiere but now i use davinci… this look can be achieved in either

I'm actually still torn between the 2 but leaning toward Milanote. I really like using Milanote because of its simplicity and cleanliness. However, the fee to use it in an ongoing, multi project way is pretty crazy to me, given the simplicity. I keep searching "Milanote alternative" but am yet to find anything similar, which is also wild.

Would you say one is more for personal and the other for work like things? I’m a filmmaker as well I edit for some content creators and I used Milanote but I’ve been wondering if I should also use notion cause certain things on there are better done than Milanote but I do love Milanote.
I personally use Notion more so to organize information like anything to do with finances and such… Milanote is definitely where I do most of my creative brainstorming / ideation. I’ve actually really been enjoying using Milanote in my pre-production process, for instance I just finished principal photography as DP on a short film- and it was really easy to communicate my shot / look ideas with my director / gaffer bc Milanote lends to a more visual experience. I may make a video on that soon… I think as long as you develop a process for either platform and cater it to your needs, I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Yes, as far as I know, Milanote does not limit you on canvas space!
