As a track coach, we often use meets to get our athletes in shape…it sounds crazy, but we aren’t looking for them to win…sometimes it’s just for fitness…so when championship season comes the athletes will be best conditioned for events that will score…whether they were recruited for that or not 😊
Her being the only one they’re trying to get in shape is crazy, but hey every coaching style is different because her dad would never 😂. The good thing is she’s very resilient and is more than decent in anything they throw her in. I just don’t like how they’re running her into the ground and still expect her to be at her best when it’s time to really jump.

They put her in the 60m dash to help her with her speed and aggression on the run way for her jumps we do the same thing with our jumpers on my high school team

I’m not sure what she placed in the prelims because of the angle I was recording but I do know she didn’t make it to finals.

I’m a track coach. To be a good jumper you must be a good sprinter it’s a must. If you can sprint you can be mediocre jumper 19 is mediocre.. you have to be able to run a good 60 all the grades do it they don’t like doing it but they do it because they know you’re runway spread is the most important part of the jump if you jogging on the runway are you running? You know how you don’t have enough speed down the runway you can be jumping 19 low 20 maybe a 20 maybe. to be able to spread that’s why Coach is putting you in there so you can get faster for your jumps. You’re not gonna make it to the NCAA in 19 feet division two division three make it to final in 19 you have to jump 20+ and make it qualify for the Olympics even United even trying to qualify if you have a good spring down the runway and you hit the board right 22 feet
Not sure if you realize her dad is an ex track coach. We already agreed that the 60m dash is understandable. I guess my real issue is them running her in the open 60, 60 hurdles, open 200, and the 4x4 all in the same meet. I’m not even a coach and even I know that’s overkill and unnecessary.
@@Yelleadams yes that what colleges do. If you can score points in any event, that’s what they put you in. You get to score points for the track team to win league all NCAA the more points score the more valuable you are to them. I knew the fun police was a coach just by the way he speaks.. that’s why the way how she’s talking in the video I was surprised that he didn’t say anything. if I offended you I’m truly sorry but the coaching me was like that’s why you here. to send home two weeks ago. He’s gonna run the 4 x 4 doing that he’s a jumper but he scored more points and running. Then he scored and jumping in her that she can be a great jumper. If she gets faster she have to sprint more she could jump at least 22 and 45-46 if she gets faster .her technique needs toning.i know I’m all over the place.
That’s because he does not agree with how they’re running her. Especially since she’s already having issues with her shins so early in the season. You didn’t offend me at all. I understand there is a lot of people on the outside looking in that don’t know the full scenario. You didn’t say anything wrong. Just know that the fun police will never steer her wrong. Also, I’m an ex jumper so I have a good understanding of what you’re trying to explain 😊
