      There is a free coupon every few ads. That thing is great.
      Also... don't get lost on here... but there is a group of guys that made a pass/fail rating on harbor freight tools. I use it before buying anything expensive there to see if I want to go to Lowes instead.

    I have several of the lights. The small one and the larger one with two separate lights. They work great and have lasted at least 3 years! The 4 way screwdriver works pretty good too!

    The magnetic strips are good to use in gun safes to hold pistol magazines.

  • @markc7974

    Good video, have to say that magnetic tool strip is great, have three in my shop, very handy. Same goes for the flashlights, tarps, parts tray, tape measures, and even the free screwdriver sets that they offer sometimes are not too bad. Have to agree about the scissors, you have to check them close and make sure the blade arms aren't warped. Love HFT.

    Those flashlights are nice. You can change the batteries when they die. They sometimes come with a plastic cover, got to open it up and remove it.

  • @cory1641

    That voltage meter is nice too because if you fry it, you didn't blow up your expensive one!

      good point. I don't use one but maybe once a year, so I can probably get another free one if I blow one up. I think I have a backup in case

    I have to respectfully disagree with you on the flashlight and scissors. I've got three kids ages 8, 4, and 2. And they love to play with flashlights! When they are giving them away for free I make sure I pick up few for the kids. If it lasts one night the kids are happy and I'm a hero. And my wife loves the scissors, she uses them in the kitchen for different things. And we throw them in the dishwasher when their dirty. We've had some for over a year and still work fine, no rust even after being washed in dishwasher almost every night.

  • @dannyscobee6530
    @dannyscobee6530 Před 7 lety +3

    Love the flashlights! Just don't drop it on concrete.
    Stay away from the AA batteries, they seem to run short for most applications.
    Magnetic parts tray is nice as well

    • @timsawyer7443
      @timsawyer7443 Před 6 lety

      I presume you're talking about the "general purpose" or "heavy duty" batteries. Yeah, they don't last long, and use of those type (from ANY manufacturer!) are discouraged in any electronics. HF's alkaline batteries seem to last pretty well, though, and even if they last less than the brand names, they are SO MUCH less expensive (unless you get a great black Friday sale or something) that it's still better to use these and just chunk them when they give out. (I agree, though, that it's best not to bother with the "heavy duty" type.)

  • @thegreenhouseinventor7793

    Another good use for the magnetic strip is in the kitchen. When mounted horizontially, It makes a great knife holder and keeps them out of harm's way. In case you're wondering, yes, it will also hold all stainless steel knives.

    You said it best... Harbor Freight is hit or Miss! With the lifetime warranty on all hand tools and my recent troubles with exchanging my craftsman sockets ratchets etc... I just use harbor freight. Better hours and closer to my house. My general rule on specialty tools is 1-2 uses HF is the way to go.

    • @ZachNMcCall
      @ZachNMcCall Před 7 lety

      brian kirkbride probably the second. Last time I tried to exchange they had no rebuilt ratchets and would not give me a replacement off the shelf.

      Could of been an off day... but with the HF hand tool quality on par with most craftsman and a no questions asked return policy on all hands tool... hard to argue with that.

    Their free 27 Led Portable Worklight/Flashlight is good. "$10.64 VALUE" is a crock. Can get them at Family Dollar for $5. Even alkaline batteries in it wear down quick. Should have been designed for AAs instead of AAAs. Put alkalines in it and keep one in your car. In the worst category, you should have mentioned their Heavy Duty Batteries Pack of 24. Mine went dead on their own within a few months. Not a "free" item, but I absolutely LOVE their 9.5', 7 AMP Electric Pole Saw!

  • @jasper23454

    No mention of the magnetic parts tray? By far much better than the volt meter.
    My choices would be
    Magnetic tool bar
    Magnetic parts tray
    Tape measure
    Tarp
    Micro fiber cloths.

  • @Ricopolico

    Hate to tell you, that meter is useless especially for the rookie. With all the problems in doing electrical work, an untrustworthy meter only makes it that much worse.

    voltage reader? its a VOM Volt Ohm Meter gee?? the scissors and the measure tape is damn nice for free so is the led lights that have been given away. Also the combo screwdrivers are wonderful considering their free also. You can find a purchase that qualifies as cheap as a carpenters pencil for 59 cents. Keeps me coming back!

    Magnet strip, in the kitchen, holding

      but HF Screwdrivers suck...well i used like 3 or 4 harbor freight screwdrivers to pry off a stuck oil filter once, and it snapped all the HFS. I scrounged around for a better screwdriver and my craftsman did the job without breaking.

    multi tester is complete trash. used it once and i pulled the cord to hard and the chord broke off at the end. You should probably open the product first and test them at the very least before saying they are the "best free gifts". thanks for the videos and I have to agree that first item looks very convenient and useful. I have gotten countless magnetic trays and they are also very useful.

      I had a similar experience with this, mine didn't work out of the box. On the other hand I have never had a problem with the flashlights and my kids love them. My Dad and I have dressed elk using those flashlights, so in my opinion they are lifesavers.

      What's wrong with the multimeter you got? I have seven of them, (yeah, I know), and they are all very accurate when checked against a Fluke. The one I wans't happy with was the low-end Craftsman. I had two and neither was very accurate.

      Mark Panuco Meh, I bought a three pack tasco at sams club. Best 19 dollars I ever spent, comes with batteriea and high, low and strobe. I then bought an 18v drill nicd powered and flash light from harbor freight. Price was 19, coupon took 20 percent off. Best 14 I ever spent. Just review what people say about certain tools at HF, and you'll often know what to get and what not to buy.
