Don’t know if I can recommend chunky skirting boards every time I watch grand design or multi million pound new builds I notice a lack of skirting or flush to the wall skirting boards and really want that in my small house to give me a bit more space back.
It is possible to do flush skirting, there are plasterboard trims available to allow this but it’s a faff to fit. The plasterboard must be cut short by exactly the right amount.
