  • This video is a review and demo of the ANI F150, Plus HPS Spray Gun, it has a 1.4mm fluid tip and I believe it is one of the best guns in its price range. I will show you the types of materials that you can spray through it and a good overall unbiased review based on my opinion, I'd like to thank SprayGuns Direct for sending it out so that I could review it.

    Hey Gunman! Just wanted to give a huge thanks to you. I've been working at a high end restoration shop for the last 4 years, with hopes of always being a painter. long story short I've been the body man the whole time being as there hasn't been any cars for me to learn on that weren't high dollar resto's. After watching your videos for the past few months I got motivated to learn the paint side of things, so i took in a buddies 240x drift car as a side, bought the gti polite, and got to work prepping the body. thanks to your videos i was able to look back and see what gun setting/tips work best for you. Anyways, i just got done spraying the car this weekend and it came out absolutely killer! My friend no longer wants to drift it in fear of scratching it. Just thought id let you know you and your channel really helped. thank you and keep it up!

    I recently bought one of this guns from princess auto in Canada. I have been very happy with the results iv been getting. The gun only cost 250$ Canadian and will be buying some different needles through spray guns direct. Thanks Gunman for the review. Devilbiss aluminum pot works on mine. Has treated me a lot better than the devilbiss starter lines I was using and at this stage in my career has been great.

  • @stuartcramer-barnicoat4314

    Thanks for the review was waiting to hear your views on this gun, I mostly do diy jobs, I have the mini R150 and have had some good results with that, been using al cheepo guns and to say the least the finish was looking a bit rough needles to say the seals did not last very long either, I do like a good finish was also pondering the Devilbiss GPI as its versatility would suit my needs 1.8 and 1.3 or 1.4 nozzles Primer base and clear all in one. Thanks once again

    Hello GunMan, Rick here from the NW USA,
    Just want to tell you how much I appreciate all your hard work and expertise in ALL that goes into your automotive painting, and the production of these vids ! ! !
    I have 30+ years of body and paint under my belt so far and still learning, and loving what I do!
    Just wanted to ask about the ANI F150, F1, & the other full sized spray gun and what the differences are between them? Thanks GunMan, and keep up the Outstanding work ethics!

      @TheGunmanChannel  Před 8 lety +3

      Thanks mate, glad to hear my efforts are appreciated, I've only ever used the ANI F150 and R150 mini gun so can only speak for them, they are a good gun with decent transfer efficiency but find they work better under more pressure than any of my other guns up around 40psi, big fan on them and get good finishes, the only real downside is average quality pot but DeVilbiss pots fit on so if you had a spare DeV pot easily fixed or PPS adaptor, that R150 1.2mm mini gun is amazing too.

    love the cheap gun reviews, as I don't do cars, I would never spend too much on a gun for backyard projects, as probably no one else would. had a chance to test a satajet in my friend's shop. it is just ridiculous how much paint they get out at low pressures. keep the videos coming please. somebody send this guy a gun! I'll be buying soon :)

    Thanks for the review Gunman. I have been using this gun and like it for my bases with 1.3 tip. Extremely efficient gun for my humble little shop. I also jumped into using the Pro-Lite for clears and find this system works very well. I was interested to see what you thought of this gun and what you could get out of it. We all should realize the risk you are taking on just to entertain us and our requests on customers cars. I appreciate the efforts!! Highest respect.

    Hey there gunman,
    I'm from the UK have been following you for a while. Your posts are excellent and appreciated.
    This is my first comment and I have a technical question.
    I have a 3hp, 14 CFM air compressor.
    This compressor delivers 9.6 CFM of free air and has a 21 gal tank, which is not beefy enough to run my HVLP spray gun at 11 CFM. My challenge is that I want to do a complete respray on a medium-sized family car. So I'm thinking I either need to shell out thousands on a monster compressor, or I could possibly purchase a gun that is less demanding on volume and pressure, etc.
    I can see that this gun only needs 3.6 CFM @ 2 Bar. Would buying this gun possibly be a good solution if I purchase an additional, full-sized cup?
    I'm not expecting a Rolls Royce finish, but European orange peel will do me just fine.
    Do you have any comments or suggestions on this, please?
    Thanks

    I have a used car shop and we only do panel work about once a month. I was looking for a clear gun but I am not concerned with build quality as we only use it a few times a year. I am only concerned with how flat the clear goes down. I know this all comes down to the air cap. How is the air cap on the ANI F150 compared to the GTI PROlite T110 air cap. I prefer the flattest finish possible as it will also be the most forgiving. I could buy either one, but at the price of the ANI F150 i could replace it once a year. Will the ANI 150 put the clear down better than factory orange peel?

    I had a question, I'm a novice painter and actually bought this gun at my local store based on your recommendation.
    I was noticing that the DeVilbiss SGK was roughly in the same price point as this gun. DeVilbiss is much more well known then A.N.I, but you have used both. Is it worth me returning the gun and buying the SGK online? This gun will also be my all arounder (I will be using it for base & clear)
    Thank you!!

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  Před 7 lety

      I'd say the DeVilbiss is only slightly better, the pots are much better though. The ANI seems to work better at higher pressure after using it more than this video so I'd just stick with the SGK if I were you.

    for bare metal resprays should i use epoxy or etch primer? lots of debates on it and no one gives a straight answer?
    thanks and great channel :)

    • @CraigOverend
      @CraigOverend Před 8 lety +1

      +Stiofan e36 My understanding is that epoxy primer seals and prevents moisture getting to the bare metal, you then surface prime over that for sanding. That etch primer only needs to be used if you already have a moisture proof barrier layer (not sanded back to bare metal), but you need a surface that base or topcoat will key to successfully. There are also zinc phosphate epoxy primers that can be used as a passive barrier over surface rust.

    Man I have watched all your vids I am a beginning painter. Mainly odds and ends for myself. Currently I am in the process of beginning the paint work on my boat it's 25 foot so a lot of real estate. I have a pro lite and am spraying two part poly. It seems impossible to lay it on without heavy orange peel. The paint is supplied at airless spray viscosity so I am thinning quite a bit. Do you have any advice for me on this thanks

    Would this gun be happy with acrylic paints?

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  Před 8 lety

      I guess if you thinned it enough it'd be fine but I found the 1.6mm I had on my GPI worked a treat for the Acrylic clears I used in that video I made.

      +The Gunman My brother did a backyarder Datsun 1600/510 engine bay spray successfully with Wattyl Super-cryl acrylic and a 1.4mm with plenty of thinners. He preferred it over the 2-pack he painted his other rally car with the same gun.
