I'm native American (Navajo) and I'm studying Asian foods, more specifically Chinese cuisines. I'm also learning mandarin as well as Thai because I'm with a Thai family that is teaching me so many things. Food is my inspiration, and we are opening a new restaurant soon. I have to speak at least 4 languages everyday. I love the Fung Bros. You are the best. Found you through the Higher Brothers and CDC. You're great.
JizzingTiger SquirtingDragon we are related in the most insane way.
yea, but how much Native are you? Dont tell me like, you're one /eighth. I'm sorry to say, the white man has kept true natives in poverty for the last 100 -200 years. You'd pretty much have to send off your women to marry white men to try to escape poverty.
Whoa, seriously, wtf? I'm full blooded Navajo, I know all my clans, and I was raised on the reservation until I was able to leave. What is with all this hate?
If youre studying chinese cuisines then you've got A LOT TO LEARN. There is too many different types of food and ways of cooking, its crazy. Different regions, different taste and style.
Believe me, I knew the Thai foods are delicious with stronger impacting to taste, yet, the Cantonese foods are elegantly different, it smoother and deeper with gentle feelings in you mouth. In fact, at almost every well devwloped city of most of provinces in China, the Cantonese foods are more expensive and high-scaled. I am Shanghainese, in here, almost everyone of our REAL-Shanghainese have to admire that the Cantonese foods are better than others. I sincerely advice you try some Cantonese foods in the areas of Southen China. PEACE!
“Yo your voice already sounds different” “hell yea it does” 😂😂😂💕
I definitely like these Fung Bros videos which came out more recently. I feel like it flows better, it's more relaxed, and I really appreciate the fact that David speaks Mandarin in the video. The Fung Bros have gotten better with time and experience and that's a difficult thing for a CZcamsr to keep steady, stay relevant, and never lose their touch after all these years. Keep it up!
I completely agree with representing all sides of the culture you have. I'm American, Puerto Rican, and Cambodian. I had a Vietnamese dude try to tell me that I'm just Puerto Rican, because that's what my father is. I told him to get on with that bull. I have pride in and represent all of it. Proud to be an American. Khmer pride. Boricua hasta la muerte.
Great video fellas. Insightful, informative, and thought-provoking. I think you guys do this with every video you do I think it’s exceptional.
Me and my friend stumbled on this spot yesterday looking for shrimp, we didn't know the history at all. Yall video plays in the lobby. Everything we got was like a brand new experience. Just speaking on the cultural stuff yall were talking about at the end of your video, I'm not Chinese at all, just for me lately going around experiencing different things is inspiring and enriching. it's a trip how in all our different backgrounds and cultures we set up rules and barriers. I appreciate the extra history from this video and at the end of the day we all human beings running around in 2022 and we can take what we want, like you said. I love it.
I have been watching guys for years, Seen lots of development. I love the effort you put in your vids. I feel you guys are authentic to your culture and self! Keep up the good work!
Awesome video you guys rock! Thanks
i love how much you two embrace your Chinese roots!!! My family originated from Shandong too :)
Loved this video! You guys are always so descriptive and really informative. Also the editing and the way you interact is so entertaining. The message at the end was real talk. I've struggled at times about being mexican-american. Either not being mexican enough and being labled white-washed, or being too brown and "ethnic" to be american. Fuck what society says! Thank for the lovely message!
Lovely seeing you guys again 💓💓💓💓
Wow, looks very good...thanks for sharing!
I can't get enough of this channel man:)
Great video, guys. Very nicely created, edited, and produced video. Makes me as a viewer feel and think that they in the restaurant, personally. Thanks for sharing.
i love it when you guys speak chinese! i agree that normalizing it would just make the world that much cooler of a place to be. mine is far from perfect too, esp as an abc, but your confidence encourages me (and others) to speak more for sure. love the video, and looking so forward to trying this one day!!
Really like what you guys talked about being able to experience the both sides of spectrum and representing the both sides. I came from China and have lived in the States for years. I never stop exploring new things in America and learning the American culture. My goal is to understand America better through the people i meet in America and also help them understand better about China.
“This is Shandong dish.”
Bruh I am native Chinese and I can’t even tell what’s a shandong dish these guys are real foodies
shandong dish originated 2500 years ago called lucai and it has big influence basically, and royals love to eat that
Shandong cuisine is the most influential Northern cuisine and the head of the "eight main regional cuisines". The others big four Sichuan, Guangdong, Suzhou. The big eight includes Fujian, Zhejiang, Hunan, and Anhui. Basically, anything Northern is considered to be influenced by Shandong cuisine since it has existed forever, and the Qing dynasty is based in the North. In the US most Chinese food is Guangdong via Cantonese immigrants or Fujian and Sichuan via Taiwanese immigrants.
八大菜系
Their mother from Shandong. Likely how they know
I wish I was there eating with you guys! That looked amazing. Craving Chinese now lol
Loved it that you guys spoke about how you can choose what you like from your culture while being ABC. In the end, it's all about having respect for each other
Dang. I like how the food and the place look. 😋 can’t wait to try
Great message in the end.
This was so dope.
I would love to try this food. It looks so lovely!
Excellent video.
I'm dying with that mandarin xDDDDDDDd props for still being able to speak chinese
Their Cantonese isn't bad either.
I love watching your videos. I learn a lot about the Chinese culture
Fung bros going to their roots🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another episode of Fung Bros food! 😆🤘👊🍻🍺
You could get this kind of food about 15 years back near the top of the Summer Palace. It was expensive but having the many courses of food along with the actual scenery in which it was probably enjoyed really accentuates the purpose of the dishes.
That's really something special. I've been there but it didn't occur to me to eat around there.
Cantonese language lesson of the day.
"Jook sing" =ABC
"Jook hup" =FOB
No one knows where this originated from but I'll tell you the ancient Chinese American secret from the early 1900s.
Jook = bamboo
Sing = to go through completely
Open on both ends
Hup= closed
So a bamboo open on both ends "rep both sides" hence jook sing.
A bamboo that is closed on one end is only open to Chinese cultures hence jook hup.
The more you know!
Baby Shaya never heard of “jook hup” before. FOB is “阿灿”
Delay no more. That was some major weak-ass trolling.
it's so emotional ~~
Hey, that plate is Hulu-shaped. Yep the name Hulu comes from the Chinese name for calabash. Hulu is a symbol of happiness and wealth in the Chinese culture 'cause apparently, it sounds like fú happiness and lù wealth.
nice! they look so tasty! can you guys go trying Thai food too pls??
Y'all should try some soul food. Black soul food
Last time I was this early, Richie’s hair was still black for that vintage look
All these dishes look good.
3:52 LOL

Damn, my mouth is watering.
清朝御膳? Yay! As a Filipino Chinese, I'd surely love to try that yum yum! Hello from a newbie fan in the Philippines.
Do an Argentinian Steak House! El Gauchito in Corona, Queens is Bangin'!!
I must have driven by this place so many times I never knew they served this! Next time I’m back in the 626 I’m definitely hittin this place up
Those date paste filled cookies interest me, I'm guessing they or the idea of them traveled the Silk Road and wound up the ancestor of the Arab Mamool a date filled cookie that is very beloved.
The lobster head goodies made my mouth water.
Mark Wiens would give his usual enlightened face after trying each of these dishes.
thumbs up for all the positive words in the end of video
My favorite Chinese restaurant ever from the 626.
/there are also some great restaurants in SZ.

😃😃😃this was my favorite episode, I ❤️ ancient Chinese culture. Nelson's voice is so SEXY! 😍😍😍and David you should speak Mandarin more often 😍😍😍. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL!, I really felt I went back in time.
Same, I wish I was eating with them
i wanna go 😭
People with the “Na” family name in China usually are the Mandarin-speaking Hui Muslims (回民/回族) and are found in Beijing, Ningxia, and Gansu.
It's really interesting food I guess.. Related to the Qing dynasty, the bitter sweet era in the China magnificent history
I'm a South East Asian guy FYI
Fung bros trust me, there's something that is hard to describe that lies in the city of Beijing that connects something very deep in every Chinese no matter where you live on earth.
And David you should definitely speak more mandarin in your video hahah, you are improving on it
💚
🍽🍽🍽🍽
Bruh It aint even an upscale restaurant in China. Bistro Na is a chain and has many locations across China. guess they are positioned differently in the American market. I wouldn't necessarily call bistro Na royal cuisine cuz its quality control sucks at some locations. Bistro Na can be categorized as traditional Northern or Beijing cuisine at most, far from upscale Chinese food.
Na? That’s the branch name of the Manchu name of either Nara or Neohuru family name!!!
💖
Great! i feel like I am in Beijing.
This looks very michelin-star-worthy.
AL But michelin seems to know nothing about Chinese food. Lol
@@rokeishoku3381 michelin is more of white only. lol, a chinese restaurant on michelin gotta have french flavor it in to be considered real food to michelin. LOL
@@Steven-xf8mz @Rokei Shoku
I don't think so. There are quite a few Michelin-star Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong.
@@AlqGo Surely they could pick some restaurants locally, but almost every time it would become a controversial topic.
@@rokeishoku3381 I've never heard of any controversy involving Chinese restaurants with Michelin stars.
Do an updated dim sum video
this is so weird cause we've been talking heavily of post-classical chinese/asia mongols stuff in ap world history
I'm chinese boi. >:o
you guys are cute in this episode, lol
>Says "up to par"
>Subtitled "typical"
Yeah, the subtitles are clearly autistic! LOL
Try Korea spicy food...
3:53 NOW DESCRIBE WHAT MARCELLUS WALLACE LOOKS LIKE !!!!!
Nelson! slow down on eating... dont rush!
It's no surprise Japan and Korea had many cultural and cuisine influences from China. Did you know Ramen originated from China?
I like how you guys straight up skip the wine part.
Hi

清…I thought it was 秦……😂I am surprised that somebody can make 秦dynasty food😂😂😂😂😂
