Love the reaction of the little one, well done! this is how we can get the future generations excited about fixing stuff and not just throwing it in the trash.
Edit: forgot to mention that I am typing this looking at a samsung screen that has a reboot issue, disconnecting this board works fine, I still however need to supply my own IR receiver as it is unfortunately part of this board.

FANTASTIC! Just what I was looking for. Was wondering how to get to this touch sensor board. Whoever designed this part is extra stupid. I mean why not put it in a slot instead of under such a hard place to reach. smh. Great video, about to order my sensor now :-)

Did you manage to get the IR board? I searched online but could not find it anywhere. I am seeing n issue where the LED keeps flickering. Remote does not work. I suspect that the sensor thinks that someone is sending it a power ON in a loop. Unplugging from the back, and the plugging it back it turns the tv ON. And I cannot operate the remote at all due to the signal (it thinks) overload. Probably the board gone wrong.

I know this video is getting old, but anyone remeber if their remotes werent working as well. Looks like i have the same tv with the same symptom. Since its the IR sensor im guessing it wouldnt power on from the remote or the button like the issue im having.

To check your remote, simply turn on your cell phone camera, point the remote IR transmitter at the camera and push a button. You will be able to see the IR transmitter LED light up through your phone camera.

Only destroyed one board in my life from ESD and I was in the college lab. It was a motherboard laying on a grounded anti-static mat and I was standing on a concrete floor with shoes on. Only thing I forgot was to plug in the ground strap around my wrist before touching the motherboard. At home I work on carpet with socks and no ground strap and never had any boards destroyed by ESD.
