Excellent video and ive already preordered a bunch. This game fits in such a nice slot for me. Its a tcg that i can teach almost anyone and they dont have to worry about things like getting screwed on resources or timing rules for instant style effects. Its hitting a really nice spot where its easy... But man if you really wanna go farther the depth you can achieve is amazing.
100% agree. I didn't even think about the whole 'timing' aspect and reaction stacks. That does really simply gameplay
Awesome video. This was just as cool as the Community Celebration. Thanks for questions and answers. I am just like you. I followed this from the start. I believe we might have chatted about it. The most important aspect of your segment is FFG wants to the Community around this game. It clearly speaks to the fears of the local game stores have. Most stores were gun shy because of Star Wars Destiny and Star Wars the Card Game. Great content on this game and I hope to see you across the table in a friendly game or Tournament game, real soon. Thanks for the comment! FFG was VERY transparent with what happened with Destiny and people's perception of this game because of Destiny. Instead of running from it, they are trying to learn from it. Only time will tell, but to me it looks like they've done everything they can to position themselves for a successful launch.

This was a really good video, i looked it up and the pre-order prices seem very reasonable, the art style seems ok if a little bland but not a deal killer. But when i went to the website to look up the rules they where kind of scattered and its written like a script for a CZcams video which might be easy to listen to but takes its time to get to the point. I left a comment on the website about that and hopefully there receptive to it. My friends are way more into star wars thdn i am but im more into games so hopefully this is something we can meet in thr middle on! 🎉
Thanks for watching. Since this game was announced, the art style seems to be the most divisive part. Some really like it and some don't. I didn't at first but I've gotten used to it over time.
If you have 3-4 friends interested, the new multiplayer format, Twin Suns, is fun. It's like Commander in MtG
As far rules, have you read the QSR? I learned that way and it was pretty straight forward

I want to see this game succeed, but given FFG's track record of starting and discontinuing games and the fact that SWU has set rotation (meaning your cards are not tournament playable after 3 sets) unfortunately means I won't be getting into it sadly :/ I had a blast testing it GenCon and my girlfriend loved it too.
They have been pretty transparent about the past issues with games like Destiny. This is a new team running things and are actively trying to avoid those past issues.
Unfortunately, rotations are just a part of CCGs, but I can understand the issue with that.
However, no reason you and your girlfriend couldn't just get the 2 player starter set and enjoy that.
@@RollDiceTakeNames We're going to get a 2-player starter but that's about it. For now, Flesh and Blood is our main game as it has no set rotation. We sort of got burned by SW Destiny when they announced set rotation. All of a sudden the cards we bought (quite expensively) dropped to just a few dollars. Wasn't a good feeling at all.
@@timbarbarian FaB is really good. But yes, set rotation is a nature of the beast for many CCGS 😞

as much as I hope this game will find its footing, Theres a LOT of competition against it, not just magic yugioh and pokemon, theres lorcana, one piece, now the new dragon ball game, theres also sorcery, NETRUNNER, just got a reboot. Theres a lot of things going agaisnt it right now. Granted the star wars community is obviously large and very dedicated. Its also survived without a main stream card game for decades. Meaning unless its significantly cheaper and wide spread andit wont hit the same issues of distribution such as with bandai right now and the recent problems with Lorcana and players not having enough product available. Its very possible that this game might stumble. Theres a lot of opposition, but theres just as much going for it as against it. It seems like it has been really well recived so this game might be the little train that can could in the tgc scene!
TCG is for sure becoming a crowded space again. As you mentioned many new TCGs coming out like Lorcana, One Piece, Altered, etc. From my experience, a good OP roadmap can really help a TCG and Fantasy Flight has a good roadmap in place. But ultimately, it's up to the gamers/consumers as to how well this will do. It will be interesting to watch.
There is something about cards with blank text boxes that I just can't stand. It just seems so cheap and lazy. That's the vibe I get every time I see this game.
Unfortunately I’m not buying this game. I was heavily invested in star wars destiny, best game ever might I add and they discontinued it. I felt a sharp pain in my back when I seen this game coming out.
I totally get that and I was in the same boat. Many people brought up the failure to Destiny to the dev team and they all acknowledged the problems they had. Their goal from day 1 was to avoid all those same issues. But only time will tell.

No. This game is not for me. I know that because the money will go to the Disney corporation. A corporation that breaks the law, treats its workers unfairly, and uses its influence to crush competition illegally. I really wish more people would research Disney and their past and current business practices before handing over their cash.

I totally understand and respect your decision! There are a lot of issues with Disney.
Sorry wont trust FFG after they have pretty much HORRIBLY managed every single card game they have had up till now.
