- AN UNDEFEATED GERMAN SCHNITZEL CHALLENGE. Today we take on this famous schnitzel eating challenge that has been considered an impossible food challenge for quiet some time as no one has been able to complete it! With multiple pounds of pork schnitzel breaded with their house made pretzels, french fries, a butter sauce and a granny smith apple slaw all served with a 40oz pitcher of beer or soft drink (a stein) - can we defeat Rhein Haus Seattle's Holy Schnitzel Challenge? While not a whole pig eating challenge, this one is very porky! I can only imagine this is the best place for Oktoberfest! Rhein Haus Seattle is a German beer house and restaurant in downtown Seattle which offers the best German food, like sausages, pork shanks, pretzels, fried steaks (similar to prok steaks, chicken fried steaks and fried chicken), all from a scratch kitchen and served with many of their own delicious mustards and signature sauces! They have great food, great staff, and MANY beers to choose from.

Poor Scott always looks like he is panicking in these challenges compared to how laid back Joel is. BUT I have to say Scotty has improved SOOOOO much since I first started watching him. He has to eat twice as fast as Joel, but he keeps up nicely now. Very impressive.
I've noticed some competitive eaters just seem to look a bit panicked while eating... like Katina even shakes a bit when doing non timed videos of just having cheat days at home. Wonder if it's just knowing the camera is rolling?
But yeah Scotty has for sure gotten so so so much better than when he first started making videos. He's also pretty funny and endearing!

I thought he was going to eat both plates. One plate is too easy for Joel. He could have lost when he swallowed that fry wrong. Otherwise, he can't fail on a challenge that small.

In Germany we call "Kotelett" a pork "Schnitzel" with a bone. Without the bone it's a Schnitzel.
And a schnitzel is always breaded. A cutlet not. A schnitzel is actually made from veal. But it can also be made from pork, chicken or turkey.

Joel explains, among other things, that schnitzel is called different things all over the world, including cutlet. I simply explained that in Germany a cutlet is something different.
Do you live in New York, Bavaria USA or what kind if Schnitzel are you talking about?? Kotlett has nothing to to with a regular Schnitzel. Not even close! Its neither the same part of the pig nor does it taste nearly like a Kotlett. Come on some research befor you write stuff like that. And yea, it can be made from prok, or chicken - never heard of a turkey schnitzel in my whole life living in all parts of germany.
PLEASE do more duo food challenges with Scott. I like your content standalone, but the interaction with a partner during the challenge is definitely better and feels more wholesome.
i agree with you 1,000 percent! The best part of the challenge for me was seeing Joel and Scott together again. That schnitzel reminds me of pork chops and it looks delicious. I am sure that Joel and Scott will defeat this challenge hands down!

has inflation not hit where you’re from or…?? 5 schnitzels and a bunch of fries, they probably charge $15-20 for a single serving of the same meal. It’s not that crazy a price.
My Grandparents were Romanian and my Dad was born in Poland, but grew up in Germany. My. Grandma would make schnitzel all the time and serve it with lemon wedges. The sauce they gave you is exactly what it is...lemon, butter and Capers. Another common sauce for Schnitzel is like a mushroom brown gravy.

They collab off and on many occasions that I think by sitting so close together so they both fit in the view of their cameras, it's probably just a given tight eating spaces and eating techniques that they know or talk about prior. Lemon Caper Butter sauce is normally with Chicken Picatta. This is the first time I've seen it with Schnitzel

The best fries are in Belgium. There they are double fried in animal fat. And as a German, I like them best with mayonnaise. Dutch fries with "Joppiesaus" or "Pindasaus" are also good.

I love when you guys work together! Thanks for doing these and bringing Scott back. My only small critique is that you never address Scott’s camera while he makes sure to include both cameras every time he interacts. He always addresses one camera and then the other and even held his food up for your camera. I feel he isn’t going to have as good of a video to put up. Maybe you guys could just use one camera and edit the videos individually? Just something I noticed. I’m a fan of both of you and want his channel to do good as well 🤗

Wienerschnitzel has to be veal.
If it is pork, like most places in Germany it's called Schnitzel Wienerart, meaning schnitzel ala Vienna. It's made in the same style, but has pork. You can also find Chicken Schnitzel.
Traditional it is served with lemon wedges that you squeeze onto your schnitzel. You can find schnitzel with sauces. Their name will indicate what's in them.
Jägerschnitzel/hunter schnitzel, brown mushroom gravy.
Ziegeunerschnitzel/gypsy schnitzel, bell pepper onion gravy.
Paprikarahmschnitzel, a creamy sauce with paprica powder in it.
There are a few more.
Some do not have a breadding so, but are only dusted in flour and pan fried.
But I had never seen capers being served with the exception of chicken piccata.
Well done again! The original Schnitzel had capers and anchovies on it, nowadays it is served with a slice of citron and a side of potatoe salad. That said, this Schnitzel looks not good; it isn't "souffliert" and the coating too dark. If that would be served to me, i would let it go back.
Also fun fact: a "Wiener Schnitzel" has to be made out of veal, a "Schnitzel nach Wiener Art" can be anything.
