  • Just a few random videos of crossing the Drake Passage.
On the way to Antarctica winds were around 45 mph and on the way back to Argentina, winds were 65 mph.

Thanks for sharing! We're heading to Antarctica next year and cannot wait to go. Two questions; any advice for sea sickness? we got a porthole room closest to the middle but I still have anxiety and were you able to see stars at night? Loved your trip video!

Hi there, unfortunately I can't give much advice because I didn't suffer at all and didnt take any medication.... I was one of thr lucky ones!
But from witnessing the others go through it, I reccomend starting your meidcation/patch BEFORE you hit the Drake.
Drink PLENTY of water. It helps!
Get fresh air if you can stomach moving about.
I had a porthole near the back and it did feel quite dark and closed in because we had to close our porthole during the Drake but not much you can do about that!
I do reccomend staying in your room as much as possible if feeling sick. It felt much better when lying down in the cabin rather than in the lounge areas. It's was more of a rolling motion lying down rather than up and down.just sleep through it and you'll be fine!
The best thing about it is, everyone is the same boat (quite literally) so if you end up sick, 80% of the boat will also be sick. You won't be alone 😂 it's just a matter of embracing it at that point. It does bring everyone on the boat together as well friendships are formed because of the sea sickness haha
I didn't see stars at night! When I went in early December we had nearly 24/7 daylight!!!

13 days down the Antarctica Penisula . Every day we had 2 landings and 2 zodiac cruises.
Then we all got one day each to camp, kayak and mountaineer.
