#GMA #Zelle #WellsFargo #Scams - Zábava
I received something asking me to confirm. I just blocked the number. I don’t sent money like that to everyone
I don't understand how anyone can fall for this. If you get a message from the bank GO TO THE BANK TO VERIFY IT. Simple as that. Don't call, don't send anything unless you know the person.
My daughter laughed when she found out how I handled the electric company scam a few years ago. I freaked out and hung up. Then called my accountant and then the electric company and was told my bill wasn't past due. A local business fell for it and lost $1,400.
This doesn't even sound logical. You should only send money to people you know who they are they bank would never have to send money via zelle. These poor naive people.
So true, in doubt, never respond back. Instead, go directly to your bank(in person) & show them the fake text/email. If you get a call, just tell them your sister works at the bank & you will call her about it right away. Thanks for letting me know.
They didn't ask if she authorized $3,500.
They asked if she authorized 3,500.
Read them very carefully!
Even when you search online and see that the information in the text seems legit, find a number for your bank on their mobile app or website and call them yourself. Never trust someone calling you saying they’re from any financial institution.
I lost $1,700.00 because I sent a money order to John Butt, He kept calling me to make a payment arrangement. He said the first payment of $700.00 didn’t go through and I had to send another Money order in 2017.
I’m not sure I understand: It sounds like the first lady didn’t authorize ANYTHING; didn’t send any money back to herself via the app (like these scams often convince the victim to do, to supposedly reverse the initial, fake transfer). She says she merely opened the app, and saw the transfers, already completed. How did THAT work?
It was probably a confusing/misleading retelling of how it happened.
Exactly. Makes no sense and the news probably changed her story for her sake. She probably did authorize them to do something but they left that part out.
The “bank” calls and asks to verify her identity by giving her bank username, the “bank” then clicks on forgot password and the verification for the forgot password is given to her.Unknowingly she believes she is just verifying her identity and the code she is receiving is just to do that. The scammer has now the username of her account and the code to reset the password or get in with a temporary one. The scammer then with access gained to her account while in her account they Zelle themselves the money using her account. I hope this cleared up any confusion
@@Narzaesthetics It does! Thanks!
@@Narzaesthetics even with that explanation a bank doesn’t make random calls for an account holder to verify their information. RED FLAG.
While the stories of these victims are tragic I use them as a learning experience
I had the same situation. They sent me the same text about my Zelle, luckily on Instagram I was able to recover my funds through the help of a professional called #OᴡɴᴇɴCʏʙᴇʀ

Why the hell are these banks still partnering with Zelle knowing that all these scams are running rampant.
Zelle is owned by the banks. 7 of the largest banks of the US partnered to create Zelle to compete against Venmo and PayPal.
I was trying to sell a bike on FB Market place, and the "buyer" insisted I use Zelle. I couldn't set up an account, so I told them I couldn't use Zelle.
They never messaged me about the bike again. I think this person was a scammer, but all I have is their Insta. What can I do to report them to prevent them from succeeding in scamming someone else?
Report it to fb
I’m curious too, I listed something and they insisted I use Zelle. But if they are paying me. . How can I get scammed?
I was actively searching for employment using usual job platforms and I was contacted in relation to employment for remote position in a company. The scammers used an email address from the company's domain. They sent checks to be used to pay vendors to provide me with office equipment, the check later were found to not be valid. I even received an employment letter on the companies letter head. Money was sent from my account to the bank account provided and through Zelle to the scammers. I was able to stop all but one transfer, the first transfer sent through Zelle. Chase bank indicated that they weren't able to recover the money and couldn't refund it.
this scammers should be locked up for hurting innocent souls. I was a victim of a crypto scam I lost $40,000 for 3 month I was losing my mind until I got refunded with the help from someone on IG

Some one is trying to scam me right now
Stop using Zelle
They try to send emails too from gmail accounts. Ignore and block.
Anything associated with Zelle is a scam
If I ever got a text from my bank, I would block it, it's fraud
The problem is they are not ALWAYS fraud. However, I don't trust any text either. Always call!
Did anyone else get a Wells Fargo ad after watching this video? That can't be a coincidence.
Just got scammed with this exact text!
My bank's telephone number is not on my contact list. My trusty call block app would block the call
It happens WAY MORE than you think! Check out Kitboga or Pierogi or some of the other guys who make a living on CZcams wasting scammers time so they don't scam other ppl, as well as exposing these call centers in India and Nigeria and educating consumers to help protect them. They are great guys doing great work, and their videos are hysterically funny (and addictive!). The gift card scams are very popular lately. Horrible!!
Someone tried to scam me a few days ago via Facebook Marketplace. Luckily, red flags started going up as no payment was shown as being received and I use Zelle alot. I called the scammer out, stated that I knew it was a scam/had read about it and I'd accept cash only. Never heard from them again and I reported scammer to Facebook.
And Capital One
Do not use ypur phones for payments. Period
They sent this to me funny thing I don't have Zelle
Someone tried to scam me a few hours ago through Facebook market place but I realized it was a scam and they used key bank and bank of America logos
Right Wells Fargo never gave me my money back after an ex stole it from my account

I feel sorry for this teacher for her hard earn money she work for, that’s why I never use marketplace they are scam people .
I have the ultimate solution. Call the bank and tell them to REMOVE Zelle from your bank account.
I got a text saying someone had sent me $100.00 but I didn't know who it was. I asked family and friends about it They told me if they sent it to me it was mines. But I felt that if someone sent it by mistake it may be someone who needed that money for food or bills. I was told that once they sent it it was not sent back. But something didn't feel right about it to me. So I waited until the next day. After I didn't hear anything from the person. I called the bank they said they seen no deposit into my account from Zelle. So I was so glad I did not respond to it and open up a Zelle account. The bank even said that the text was not even sent from the bank. I'm glad that I used discernment. I figured if the person didn't call to see why I hadn't accepted it they had to have my number to send the money. it must have been something wrong.
As long as the phone number that's calling you matches the phone number at the back of your card then it safe to answer the phone
@Tavari that’s actually really good advice I may fallow that
No. They are using call spoofing apps to make the call appear to come from legit number when it actually is not. You can attend the call may be, but if they ask you to do anything or ask for any personal info or ask for a code sent to you, hang up the call and call the number on your card to talk to actual customer care of your bank.
Stop being gullible people
Evidently there is sum type of loophole in the app itself thats allowing an open door for scammers to access the app itself to reroute that monies being authorized. Bc time and time again story after story how can these people b told to send money to themselves their own account and the monies disappear from their account and is being sent sumwhere else??? That's the question and why isnt ZELLE being held accountable people use it bc its authorized or associated with banks so they feel like it can b trusted.
Zelle isn't the problem, gullible people are the problem.
Is anyone else getting non-stop requests from Instagram to add your date of birth? I'm getting around 50 of them a day
They just pop in in the middle of everything.
For me not Insta but Google add birth date blah blah blah I just ignore it.
Sheep just write Jan 6 1897,.. it will stop. It doesn't write next 2525.
I had the same situation. They sent me the same text about my Zelle, luckily on Instagram I was able to recover my funds through the help of a professional called #OᴡɴᴇɴCʏʙᴇʀ
