I hate sounding petty, but I know human nature and how certain mean spirited or misguided fans carry themselves. I said it on another Dallas thread a couple of days ago that I wonder how many Mavericks fans HATED God Kyrie Andrew Irving JUST eighteen months ago and are now FORCED to root for his success .. you all allowed the media to drive the narrative in your mind about this great specimen of a man. In fairness, I never got into Luka because I don't usually fool with the Western conference and I did not like the comparisons to my all-time favorite Larry Joe Bird when he hasn't won anything and Bird one right away. I thought he may have jerk tendencies as well. But now that I am on board with Dallas because of my boy boy KAI I realize that Luka is a beast and appears to be fun to play with and against, cool spirit.. and because I watched every Larry Bird dribble like he is my first cousin I DEFINITELY see the similarities As it pertains to Kyrie Andrew, Dallas fans who now have got to know him some should really appreciate this goat; major philanthropy and never talks about it, stands up for his beliefs, and ALL of his teammates over the years love him. Think about it, I have NEVER heard any players say anything negative about him and I've been rocking with him since cleveland, hurt my heart he left my team of 30 years Boston SO glad that he seems happy after UNDERSTANDABLY getting the heck out of Dodge away from that weird Brooklyn owner..I'm sure the peace is also from maturity his spiritual walk and more importantly his wife and kid Let's go! As a Mavs fan who in the distance sided with Kyrie during those Brooklyn years, I loved hearing him standing up to the media. I couldn’t get enough of his interviews, I said finally an athlete with a brain who thinks for himself. When do you ever see that? Besides myself who mostly agrees with Kyrie’s views and see through his intentions, I think there’s a big difference in the air in a place like Dallas versus a place like New York or Boston, and I’ve lived everywhere in this country and abroad - in fact I live abroad now. Not that there’s anything special about Dallas, but the media is not so hostile there, most people are just minding their own business. Even all the pressure and media attention the Cowboys get comes from LA and New York. Boston might be more forgiving than New York, but the expectations are still high and the media attention is inevitable. The truth is that it’s best to not judge any of these athletes, you never really know any of them. By what you rightfully admitted, you’re guilty of the same thing regarding Luka. I used to be a Dillon Brooks hater until I saw him play with his national team and saw him embracing players he’s usually fighting in the NBA. It’s just passion, which for Kyrie transcends basketball and so people hate that they can’t put him in a box, for Luka is all basketball which often makes him overreact and be perceived that way. Outside of basketball Luka is all jokes and video games, from what I have seen.

Tim McMahon has a history of writing story’s and asking questions in bad faith in Dallas. He’s always the first person to write something negative about the mavs and almost always one of the last to say something positive. He sticks out like a sore thumb because he’s really the only Dallas media member who sucks lol
