    These videos are very encouraging. I want to build a 5000sq ft bungalow with stone ( laterite) and lime mortar in an area that has monsoons. Very few people seem to think it’s possible.

    Add coal ash to it. It will set quicker in this mix, 10% to every 25 kg bag will be, like...say 3 litres of coal ash. Wood ash be a bit weaker. If you use coal ash in quicklime it will set &cure quicker, good tip.

      I am obserb oldesd construction word bricks joints that was made with pink matrial that is so hard ,
      (Seri ke jga sy jhan log guzrty hn Bricks gis gae hn) but joinder filler matrerial is not.
      After whating ur viedo i under stand that matrial.
      That made with lime and kyri of bricks red mud , that hard and hard after pasing of time.

    Way down the south especially Tamil Nadu the mixture is of Quick lime, sand, kadukai (Hog plum extract) jaggery for strength and to avoid cracks, I don't know in what proportion.
    In another video they use 10Kg quick lime, 10Kg sand, 20kg crushed brick and around 1/2 kg jaggery
    In some cases its lime, sand jaggery, aloe Vera, lady finger or okra etc
    Can you let me know as to what you add to give the mortar strength

      We had exactly the same in England. It's rich people not the British and most of them aren't even British. Please don't judge us for decisions made by people who fuck us over just as much as everyone else.       This isn't true. Most colonial buildings used lime mortar. I don't recall seeing any British era buildings built using cement. Our house built in 1937 was built with brick and lime mortar. So definitely not banned by the British. Not sure where people come up with these tales.🙄
