90's and 2000's. Those Barbies were so detailed, colorful makeups and beautiful dresses. I loved playing with the ones I had. I had a Cool School Ken doll but after Easter in 2000, my brother took my dollie to school and he and his friends ruined my doll at recess, so, I never got to play with my dollie except for 2 days 😢.
So much history surrounding one little doll. Okay, technically billions of dolls, but still, the influence they've had on modern culture is insane. I can't wait to see what parts get reflected in the upcoming movie.

Totally Hair Barbie didn't "reportedly" come with hair gel, she DID come with hair gel. She was my favorite because of the long hair to brush.

I was a HUGE Jem girl!! I was a teen when they came out and I still bought them all, watched all the shows & listened to all the cassettes!! Jem was AMAZING!! She definitely gave Barbie a run for her money for sure!!
I got a Barbie (early 1970s) from a neighbor girl who was moving and her mom made her get rid of some of them. Eventually my parents gifted my sister and I more. We also had a Barbie's Beauty Center but neither of us knew anything about applying makeup nor styling our hair.
I used to watch animated Barbie movies. Such good old times.

I had a 1968 Barbie with long brown hair that could talk. You pulled a string with a small plastic ring from the back of her neck to hear her speak a few different phrases but can't remember what she said. She came in a carrying case with all her outfits, pink brush, etc. Wish I still had her.

I remember hounding my parents for a “Pink Jubilee” Barbie when I was a kid. The “Pink Jubilee” Barbie was a bit like the “Enchanted Evening” Barbie but came with more accessories. Also the “Pink Jubilee” & “Pink & Pretty” Barbies are often confused with each other especially since they both came out in the 1980s. But I wanted the “Pink Jubilee” Barbie so much that I even threw a tantrum when I was given the “Pink & Pretty” Barbie for Christmas by mistake. Let’s just say I got the “Pink Jubilee” Barbie on my next birthday to make up for the mistake, I was kind of a brat when I was a young kid didn’t help that I was an only child.

It’s crazy these parents criticized Barbie so much back in the 2000s. No matter what, 2000s Barbie will always be my favorite era from her (Mattel don’t wanna acknowledge that). Millie is getting so tiring and boring (every since 2015).

My most favorite era for Barbie is when I was little, was the fairytale era, because of the movies I watched in 2011 was Barbie Princess Charm school and Barbie in the mermaid tale, but also what I love the most is today’s era of inclusion of careers and self love of each body type dolls

If I wasn't careful with where I hid my barbie, ken or michael jackson dolls my sisters who chopped the hair of theirs, might've done the same to mine...and it wasn't a fashion statement more like "Holy Shit, Apocalypse Barbie/Ken" Thankfully MJ's hair was plastic or they'd have done him wrong too. I'm an 80's to mid 90's Barbie fan...showing my age? Oh well at least I do it gracefully, Barbie hides it...which means we need Barbie and Ken in their 30's, 40's and even a grandma Barbie and a grandpa Ken. LOL they'd be cute and I'm sure kids with parents in that age range or even grandparents would like that.

My favorite Barbie car, was the older version white and pink Limousine. I also remember the bike, having a blue plane and a motor home. Mine was more 90’s Barbie. I grew up in the 90’s. I also remember Skipper, Stacy Ken and Kelly (the baby/toddler)
I'm seeing a lot of mistakes here. The bubblecut hairstyle arrived in 1961. The doll shown when Skipper was mentioned was actually Skooter, and lots of other minor issues like that. But the worst error was at 12:43. "Fashion Magic Barbie" is a doll that doesn't exist. The dolls pictured when that name is mentioned are 1980 Royal Barbie, 1992 Totally Hair Barbie, 1980 Black Barbie, 1986 Barbie And The Rockers Barbie, 1983 Dream Date Barbie, 1992 Rappin' Rockin' Barbie, 1981 Golden Dream Barbie and 1977 SuperStar Barbie. Not a "Fashion Magic Barbie" in the bunch. Whoever fact-checked this script didn't do their due diligence.
I got my first Barbie in 1961, Midge about 4 years later. My daughters got their first ones about age 4 and we have had a LOT of Barbies in our house over the years! I still have my original dolls and own some collectable Barbies, too. Not sure if my daughters still have any, though. Barbie was a very special part of my childhood.

I am a collector that collects only Vintage Barbie (1959-1966) and MOD (1967-1971) for her True Beauty, Tailored Clothes made with attention to detail and real fabric. In 2000 I was Happy to see her Beautiful Nostalgic Face in the beautiful Silkstone body back in the spotlight and collected some until the Fashions quality started to degrade. From 2018-2021, My attention again turned to the convoluted world of Barbie with the release of "Busy Gal" Repro #1" and the Silkstone dolls the followed, 75Th Anniversary Repro #1, Bubblecut Brownette, and Barbie 1962 and despite the disappointments in the fashion department, (They all are redressed in High Quality Vintage Fashions or early Repro Fashions released when there was a belief that we collectors did care for quality), I AM Grateful for the Beautiful Silkstone dolls recently released. My Barbie Story Ended long ago in 1971 with my Malibu Barbie and Ken watching in Rapture the Sunset in Malibu. "That's Swell"

Toy Story was my first introduction to Barbie and Ken together in two Pixar movies. Then I got to see Harley Quinn and Ryan Gosling in the movie theater with parents that Warner bros made. Because from childhood to adulthood, because Pixar introduced to me to Barbie and Ken when I little. But I’m a boy I don’t play with dolls I used to played with action figures and toy cars and play video games and read comic books.
