I speak Japanese and it was really fun to watch the Japanese coverage during Josh’s Runick/Naturia game against Tasuku. The casters were losing their minds over the Scarlight play lol. They said that watching Josh made them really want to try the deck!
Easiest legacy royal UR of my life!
edit. easiest 2k gems of my life!
I'm so mad at my self I got them winning then changed last min
I voted for him how did you claim the prize?
Now to pray for the gamba gems
@@arhambaws3000 just open the event page in-game and go to the site where you voted for the team
Bro you got the enhanced prize. Don't rub it in. 😅😅
I picked and cheered all weekend for a Royal Rasterliger. 🤣🤣
Joshua is definitely the WolfeyVGC of YGO
The OCG didnt give Josh vegan food, so he decided to just win worlds as a warning message.
Josh down played that Spright match ALOT. Man needs to admit he is simply CRACKED at this game. That was a beautiful victory from the jaws of defeat.
i mean it's true tho OCG player don't really know what Naturia did and committed some of the worst misplays known to man
@@cryomancer2768You can't have a great Duel without misplays. All credit to Josh for his knowledge of the matchup and ability to capitalise on the mistake with the maximum punish.
@@crewie94 There are limits to everything. At some point, the misplays become the most important factor in the outcome.
Besides, you absolutely can have a great Duel without misplays, there's still the factor of luck deciding a duel in favour of one player even though they went toe to toe with their opponent as both played their cards as best as possible.
Or do you judge plays as misplays after the fact, when you can know what would have been the better choice?
@@xCorvus7x Yes, I do consider a misplay to be something that retrospectively was not the optimal outcome for that particular game/scenario.
The reason I said you can't have a "Great" duel without misplays is because usually it requires a misplay for an outcome that is of any surprise/entertainment and matches become great when that happens between both players.
Sometimes it can seem optimal initially but maybe they got calculations wrong, or an unknown variable such as an unrevealed card in a starting hand changed the outcome of what best looks like.
I think the way Yu-Gi-Oh is designed, if two players both play completely optimally, it's usually not super entertaining because it tends to be a stomp regardless. Either that or it is too predictable to be entertaining to a level that makes it "Great" not just "Good". 👊🖤
@@crewie94 How can it be a misplay, if the player had no chance to make a better play?
Say, your opponent is on Superpolymerisation and currently has a set card, so you play around Superpoly but the set was actually Imperm, into which you run headfirst. Superpoly, if it can be used, is a lot stronger than Imperm, so generally it makes sense to risk being hit by Imperm instead, don't you agree?
Then, without knowing what the set card is, the optimal play is to play around Superpoly.
I'm not sure it's true that you need misplays to happen for a duel to be actually great.
Yugioh isn't chess, which is a draw if played optimally. If you're extremely unlucky and thus lose (such as Jesse with his mills against Josh, or the other Tear player who Josh simply hit with all four Bystials and Baronne), misplays don't matter for whether the game is great and entertains.
But if you get into a grindgame where both players depend on topdecks, which certainly can happen with optimal play from both sides, then luck will be the decisive factor, won't it, yet such a game is likely to be very entertaining.
Imagine Josh was still at his programming job.
Coworker: Hey Josh how was your weekend?
Josh: Oh it was okay, just went to Japan and became the world champion yugioh player. What about you? Yours was good?
Josh is a programmer?
Fifth time's the charm baby, was on the edge of my seat all through the finals, more than deserved!
Konami not allowing surrenders but ending their own finals best match is some shit only boomer japanese devs can come up with
I want to say congratulations on your teams big win at worlds.
That smile at the start of the stream just radiates pure joy. Congrats Josh, youre the best
Imagine not voting for Josh's team
Couldn't be me 😂
I picked Josh's team as soon as I could lol
I went with Team7. was deciding between Josh's & Jesse's.
@@roxas4587 honestly fair choice as well
I voted Jesse but I was rooting for both of them I’m American so you know 🤷🏽
I snap picked them as soon as the thing was up, got a Royal Ningirsu as a reward. Always believe 🙏
goatyyyyy ⚫🔴🟡🦾
Congratulations on the big win 🏆 👏
World Champion stream
U guys played so insane thanks for all the crazy content bro especially the Qualifying weekend non stop streaming
Congrats, big winner! Seems like I choose the right team to cheer for. I'm very happy that a European team won!
Gg buddy! Hard work paid off!
Deserved, awesome dude and awesome team!
Grats Josh / snipehunter well deserved
many congratulations, such an amazing achievement, u have finally done it. World champ.
Thank you Josh, you added a royal Colossal Fighter to my collection. I had faith and it was well placed lol. Congratulations on winning, you played like a beast.
This is great, I wanted to see the thinking behind the deck selection
Yeah Josh 👏🏽
Congrats bro!❤❤
I wish I could have caught the celebration stream! Congrats man! You are broken 🎉
Well deserved win CHAMP!
Congrats man! Watched the whole thing, good stuff! I actually picked Jesse’s team to win the whole thing on MD before the tourney bc I didn’t realize u were in one of the Euro regions 😢, but well done man
Congratulations Joshua on the well deserved Worlds victory. Truly the goat.
champion of the world baby
Congratulations m8, totally earned
Congratulation for on your team. 👍👍👍
Went to bed at 4am so happy after I got see the huge dub
Getting these insights is awesome, I hope Konami appreciates what you and other great players and streamers do for the game. Congratulations and thank you for the entertainment!
Glad to hear Josh talking about dragon link because I feel like I’ve tried to make bystial control and bystial synchro so many times in MD and always feel like regular dragon link does the same thing better.
I completely agree with you. Me watching from home, definitely was more focused on the gameplay and players. Rather than UI of it. The banners, better tables, better play mats, dashboard gameplay etc. Could have been improved but not necessarily. I do really like how they focused on the UX and made the games more quiet, away from distractions. It allows players to really critical think much better. That is how I saw it when I was watching this. I know the music made me a little anxious so maybe choosing a better soundtrack would have been way a better choice. Day 2 was amazing, and very similar to previous WCS. Congrats on winning WCS Master Duel 2023, Josh, very well deserved 🎉
Thanks for the royal legacy UR!
I knew u will be a world champion in that MD event... Congratz Josh... Congratz to Quantal & Emre too... I hope i can Duel u in Master Duel someday... Please don't hate Circular anymore haha...
He’s actually a hall of famer 😊
He looks so happy 😊
🎉🎉🎉
There was no better world champion, I wouldn't want anyone else. This is so wholesome. You and Emre and Quantal were all great, congratulations! 🏆
Enjoy your vacation!!
Daß ihr alle drei das Finale 2-1 bestritten habt, ist megastabil.
If no one got me I know my boy Joshua *the* Schmidt got me *crafts UR*
Much love, well deserved, you absolutely magnificent gigachad.
You inspired me to pick up the naturia runick deck I made, and in my first match with the deck, I beat Kashtira lmao
Quantal Tear won it for us boyyyyys!
I'd love to see Josh win both worlds championships and become the first dual champion of both formats. That'd be so hype.
My man won champions and have 95 gems on his account. Humble
Unused gems rotting away in your bank account don't help you win the Worlds ;)
The self ash is still pretty awesome. Everybody messes up once in a while but not everybody makes a 5head decision afterwards to redeem them.
Bro I was so torn between your team and Jesse's. Congrats my guy
THAT'S MY STREAMER RIGHT THERE! 🤩
From now on the World Champ diff will be in effect, the chance of top decking have increased by 10 %.
On a more serious note, congrats to you and the team, it was a well deserved win. Was a really fun event to watch.
Much love Josh, keep the good content coming.
they won lmao
Josh Community W
Best Naturia player ever 👏🏼
At the beginning josh sounds like a kid thats being forced to apologise by their mom
travel more to us
Akihabara is 100% heaven
I GOT REWARED I THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The people in chat telling the World Champ how to play is so hilarious to me
In honor of Josh taking it down for the TCG, I think he should be considered an honorary European (on top of being American)
That’s my dad
Congrats on the win and thanks for the 2k diamonds!
Also I forgot to open my Royal UR and I just got Card Destruction which I was trying to get without wasting dust for a Dark World deck. My faith in you winning has been massively rewarded.
Were you one of the 250 chosen for the 2k gems?
@@Saimlordy Yes. When I opened the page to claim the tickets I got another message after stating I was picked for the diamonds as well.
Guess I should’ve been playing the lotto instead for a bit more value but I’ll still take 2k diamonds at least.
@@PartialNewbity Lucky mfer. I voted for Josh's team but wasn't one of the 250 people
so cute 😍😍😍
lol that's cute
As a naturia enjoyer, i'm afraid if the 🌲 gonna be limitee 😢😢😢
Deck isnt making any waves on ladder we'll be fine
It just so happens josh is really good
Congratulations to all of you, it was tough but you did it.
Also thanks for the 2500 gems and the royal Mist Valley Thunder Lord, lol.
"Exosister is expensive"
* Crying in Dark World, Mermail, Traptrix, etc *
It's really sad that they reduced decks to half their real power by limiting shared card pool among team members.
It was like watching a crippled format of the actual game.
At least the extra deck should be free for all. C'mon, Konami, fix this shit for 2024 WCS.
The tcg part of world's was the most boring to watch. Hopefully Josh stays in MD worlds instead
So.. what’s next😂 like your team and paulie both peaked haha
That was a nice stream. Heartwarming to listen to you. True gamer & streamer. Congratulations mr schmidt. 👑🫡👍🏻
