at around 15 min. if beast negates a spell you cant use the unchained link cause if you negate the activation it never was on the field

I believe it’s because it was in the battle phase. I don’t know for sure but I’m pretty sure that’s why. Something about the damage step.
Damage step
in the damage step you can only activate cards that negate activations or change attack/defense or monsters
@@dvsavocs5290 to add on this great answer, at that time (damage calc and later) you can't even activate stat changers like Droplet but only cards that specifically state they can be activated during that time (along of course with "activation" negators)
