One of the best modes going is changing and/or adjusting the suspension to suit the rider. Talking of Cagers pulling out. ..I regard all Cagers as possible assassins, and act accordingly..I have practiced this for many years...Its worked so far!
Absolutely! I’ve always maintained we have no right of way, even if we have right of way. Car drivers have not ever seen us, even if they like like they’ve seen us. Stationary cars at junctions WILL pull out.
Lol. I was thinking just that when I removed them and had a chortle at your comment. Anything that produces a smile/laugh these days is worth reading, so thank you. I’m still celebrating the elimination of the ‘clonk’ of the OEM shockers. Even after the autopsy. I don’t see what it is about them that made the clonking sound which sounded like the centre stand banging up and down when the bike went over lumps and potholes. But, it’s definitely gone ….it’s worth £150 just to achieve that! But the ride is so much more comfortable and much better on corners too
@@internetpolification That's good glad you are pleased as its a great company ...one thing TEC is pronounced 'tech' by everyone including the owner , not important but thought I'd mention .
Yes, I used the same mechanic and followed his advice to the letter. I sat listening to the radio for 4 hours whilst I waited for the RAC to tow me away with a con-rod dangling out of the oil sump. The man’s a genius 😀
Absolutely. Less in your face than the OEM ones with the brass coloured piggybacks. I prefer the chromed springs as they look more classic bike, to my eye. All individual taste though!
Hello James, I must confess, I was a bit unsure about the black with silver spring, but,,, yes it works fine. The black piggyback bit almost disappears returning to a more retro look.
Hi! So was I, at first. But then I thought..the bike is clearly retro and old bikes never had highly visible piggy back shockers. They all had chrome springs or chrome shrouds. You’re right…the piggy-back bit kind of disappears and, once I’d fitted them, I was really pleased with that. After some very informative comments by others, yesterday I ordered the YSS front fork kit. I’d been thinking about it for a while and the rear end has been so transformed by the shockers that I thought “why wait?”. So I didn’t! It’s probably been done before but I’ll post a video about fitting the kit…….
They do don’t they, thanks. I like how the piggyback bit is black and blends in with the tyres etc and is not so visible. Basically only the chrome springs show up and it looks a bit more classic bike, to my eye
I've just had mine delivered... is the rubber bit meant to be vaguely in the middle of the shock? I can see in your video that it's all the way at the bottom.
I'm not a fan of R.E panniers. Hepco Becker Panniers C clamp style sit close into bike & C clamp is easily removed with 2 bolts. Long ride Panniers are another but are more a permanent set up. I actually prefer throw overs & really like the Kriega dry bag that you buy a 20L or 30L on seat behind you & put a 18L or 12L on top or 2 10-12L one each side. They all join together on Kriega dry bags. Great video's keep them coming.
Well, no plans on cans…. Oddly enough, I like the OEM system, with silencers, Cat, sensors etc. I can’t stand noisy bikes and am not a devotee of the philosophy “loud pipes save lives”, I can think of lots of other ways of expressing this but want to keep this a pleasant place to be! So I’m looking for a cheap OEM system as a spare. Like the shockers, they’re virtually valueless, so I suspect I’ll find one at some point……. Re the panniers; I got them as they are so fast to remove and are soft, not hard panniers. I didn’t want melted plastic on the cans so bought the RE ones. They don’t have a huge capacity but I do find them handy and like the quick removal. Personally, I don’t mind the brackets.
@@internetpolification Yeah the panniers brackets are just a personal taste thing. As for rear cans I was thinking about the weight saving & improved handling removing weight from up high not sound.5-6kg in weight removed from up high at rear makes a big difference & the choices are endless & you can get upswept, straight & so are the prices. Enfield Precision are good,TEC,AEW leave the baffles in so not to loud.

@@ultimateoutdoors4659 No! No issues whatsoever. I’m about to change them oil and filter but the level is exactly the same as it was 2,000miles ago……… what’s happening with yours?
Definitely! I’ve just ordered a YSS front fork kit from TEC, the same people I bought these shockers from. People kept saying Hitchcocks but I got the kit from TEC as it was £10 cheaper and, unlike Hitchcocks, TEC include the required fork oil instead of offering it as an extra purchase. Seems like a good deal, so, based on comments from people on these videos, I hit the buy button today!

"Shockers" is the perfect name for the original RE units 😄
