    Thank you for showing this! I have a lot of veneers that I will be storing this way. I just bought the bags like you use and they just came today! You are by far the best polymer clay artist I have ever seen and I've been doing polymer clay for 20 years. I love your videos and I'm one of your patreons. Keep up the wonderful work!

    Could you bake them before storage and then re-bake them after completing a project with them?

    • @SweetyBijouPro
      @SweetyBijouPro  Před 6 lety +1

      )))no, for sure cannot! How you will use them after baking? I need them in raw condition! I want to cut them and give some shape, or use for some beads!

    Thanks for the tutorial! I am a bit confused about one thing, though: why are you taking them out of the plastic, conditioning them and putting them back in another plastic? It seems not very useful and wasteful (to throw away the old plastic).

    • @SweetyBijouPro
      @SweetyBijouPro  Před 6 lety

      Because they were in old plastic bags already more then one year, and I want to have them in good condition as longer as I can! But this is up to you)) YOu can store them in old bags with deformed surface...

    • @dawsie
      @dawsie Před 6 lety +3

      I have done the same thing over time the bags develop a wrinkle in them and as such they need to be removed and reconditioned and repackaged in fresh bags at least every 12 months to keep them in good condition for when you want to use them. I have some that are 5 years old now and they are as good today as the day I first made them just by keeping an eye on them every 3 months or so to make sure they have not dried out and cracked. I have found that baby oil is great at keeping the oil levels correct so they don't crack. Just a drop is need on a dried veneer, smooth over the veneer and then close the bag up for 24 hours, then re-condition as normal and re-pack again in a fresh bag.
      I have found over time the bags develop slight stretch over the clay and thus when you pull the Veneer out of the bag you will notice it has an indent as to where it was around the veneer. This is the reason for not placing them back into the same bag.

      thank-you angela for sharing that information. i will do that from now on. the diluent (also known as smoothing oil or liquid) in the polymer clay must break down the celophane bags.
      I found the 6x10 inch celophane bags on Etsy cheaper than in my local stores ,about 3 dollars for 50 bags.
