This was a good video, simple but I like it that he had the camera pointed out into the street and we could get an idea of what the performance was like for this Ferrari instead of other videos where the host has the camera constantly on himself and he talks about going fast but you can't see the speed because the camera is focused only on the driver. Here, you hear the car and see the streets and you can get a idea of how fast the car is going and how satisfying it would be to drive a car like this.
One of the most excellent raw Ferrari videos I've seen. Love how you were quick to just do a walk around - no bullshit. Also, perfect road... and I've gotta say, Ferrari might be my new favorite sounding car.
+DigitalDyslexia Thanks a lot man, I honestly have no idea how to film really so glad some people like it :-) this road in particular is one of my favourite
+NAYYII I definitely agree with that. Otherwise I couldn't help but think the general sound was missing something. Would like to know what it sounds like with a open exhaust.
+Cars with Luke Best review of the 488gtb by far, i wish magazines made these type of in car videos. Sometimes less is more, we don´t need al the fancy production stuff. I think the standard wheels look better, it reminds me of the 458 italia. I was fortunate to go to Maranello in May and drive the 458 speciale through the mountains and it was insane, the sound, the accelaration, the grip from the pilot sport cup 2´s was incredible. Keep the vids coming.
+martin q Hey Martin, Thanks for the kind comment. Yeah I like to film just pure sound and feeling in high quality so that whoever watches can try to have a real feeling of what its like to be inside driving. I thought about trying to do more in depth reviews with some of the cars I get to drive but i'm terrible at speaking to the camera so that might be some time before I have the courage to do that. Thats great you got to drive the Speciale on some mountain roads, nothing beats that feeling really, on one of my other videos I drove Speciale as well in the Black Forest, incredible car. in 2 weeks I will have the McLaren 650s or again the Huracan to make a video with but I haven't decided which one yet.
+Cars with Luke the sound is a bit disappointing, I think. It's not because of regulations btw, but because of the turbochargers. Turbochargers in general act as silencers in the exhausts and it is pretty difficult to let a turbocharged engine sound as good as a normally aspirated engine where you don't have a turbine in the exhaust, swallowing a lot of sound...Should you ever come back to Austria, you can do a review on my R8 LMX ;)
now new ferrari's dont look like ferraris used to. weird design nowaydays... 812 superfast and portofino were last good looking ferraris... thats my opinion tho
+dickdonpayforstrange Wow thanks so much, I also felt its the best angle so that people watching really get a feeling of the car. I will keep the same camera placement for my next videos :-)
My God what an excellent video! Epic man, thank you for not ruining pure driver's ride sound with some stupid exhaust sound. Epic driving and epic roads too man. Please, keep up the good work!
+Cars with Luke - Awesome video! Btw, may I know which mountain pass this video was shot? The road is superb! I need to update my Austrian travel list with my best friend. Thank you :)
+qq Hey, Sure, its a road leading out of a very small unknown village called Berwang, there is a nice hotel there and this road start's literally a few minutes from the village.
Cars with Luke yeah I know, it happens alot with mobile replys yeah, having noise and shifting gears is cooler indeed but unfortunatly, cool cars are not practical :D *tries to squeeze luggage into a ferrari*
Awesome video! This car has grown on me hugely, especially in red! Also nice to see a supercar video with such high quality but real as opposed to scripted!
What a GORGEOUS work of art!! My God, the sound of a Ferrari alone is SO friggin unique!! That mountain pass has some curves with no guardrails, and here's where I commend you for not driving this masterpiece like an a**hole doing drifts and shit. That's a whole lotta car, and should be treated with respect on such a road.
This was the video that introduced me to your channel and I have seen it grow into one of the best channels on cars, and you should be proud of it. I hope I can reach this level someday. I am shy on camera, I don't have much access to fancy cars and I've got 0 subscribers but I love cars and I will keep it going. Wish me luck! Cheers!
You can tell Luke's presenting skills and confidence has grown massively over the years compared to this old video. I've watched your videos and decided to sub so that you have at least 1 subscriber now, i hope you find access to nice cars and find the confidence to speak to camera so your channel can grow like Luke's channel. Good luck.
+DahleJohannes Thanks so much and yes it would be great to get some more subscribers as I really put a lot of work and money into my videos. Just takes time I guess but i'm happy you like them :-)
The 488 is beautiful. I even like the standart wheels. Interior is amazing too. Too bad about the engine. No more of the typical flat-plane crank sound... On the video, another great mountain pass drive you shared with us. 👍
Thanks a lot Luke.... my dream is doing exactly what you were doing ! Since I was a kid I have loved Ferrari and vow to own one before I die (not sure how, but....)
+Serch An Ha yeah the thing is it is just from the rubbish GoPro built in microphone. I learnt this only works because if you place it right next to the exhaust, its so loud that it seem be OK. Otherwise the GoPro microphone is useless for recording.
+lanreglover Thanks very much, I never planned on making any actual reviews to be honest, just more to share what the cars looks and sound like. Maybe on my next video I will try more in depth reviews. I never tried the sound system, in all the supercars I have driven iv'e actually never even turned turned one on.
I have a 458 so I am biased but a NA V-8 with a 9,000 red line is more thrilling than any turbo boost. When the shift lights light up you are in nirvana. That mountain pass drive seemed to be between 4,000 and 6,000 which sounds like lugging to me. All the great stuff comes on at over 7,000 RPM.
+douglas semonche Yes I do agree with you, it did feel like it should go higher, I love the front and back of the 488 looks wise compared the 458 but I did still prefer driving the 458, not to mention the sound as well
Thanks, I really liked this video a lot! I haven't seen how you have your other videos but the reason I appreciate this so much is that you allow the viewer to enjoy what it is like to drive a car of this caliber without the comments of the driver himself which becomes his opinion and then becomes his conclusion at the end which may not always be spot on. Great!
+Giorgio Galeazzi Thanks very much! Happy you like it. not many views because i'm not well known yet so not many subscribers. I used the Sony A7 for filming and the GoPro for filming the exhaust.
Years ago my wife had a Mondial. Great little car. Best Ferrari I ever drove was an F40 belonging to a friend. He was kind and rich enough to let me borrow it now and again to take my wife out. It was very powerful.
What strange times we live in, the 488 used to be criticised for being quiet. Well guess what, it’s actually louder than the sport cars built in 2020
This was a good video, simple but I like it that he had the camera pointed out into the street and we could get an idea of what the performance was like for this Ferrari instead of other videos where the host has the camera constantly on himself and he talks about going fast but you can't see the speed because the camera is focused only on the driver. Here, you hear the car and see the streets and you can get a idea of how fast the car is going and how satisfying it would be to drive a car like this.
Yeah and thank goodness he didn't blast any music throughout the video.
Cheers and glad you liked it :-)
Look at that road!
+Machine Gun Mike Do you know where it is
+Muhammed Roshan I think it is the Felbertauern in Austria
Looks more like Black Forest Germany. VS is Villingen Schwenningen german plates.
VS = Villingen Schwenningen, that's right. But,.. this is not definitely in Black Forest and also not in Germany.
looks like austria
Looks like a video game when the video first starts.
Awesome roads, awesome car, awesome sound, overall a freaking awesome video! Nothing better than a sound of a Ferrari! :)
+Olli Jokinen Thanks!
What do you think about the sound?
+Cars with Luke the downshifts sound pretty nice
+NAYYII I definitely agree with that. Otherwise I couldn't help but think the general sound was missing something. Would like to know what it sounds like with a open exhaust.
+Cars with Luke Best review of the 488gtb by far, i wish magazines made these type of in car videos. Sometimes less is more, we don´t need al the fancy production stuff. Unbelievably sexy... Ferrari never fail to impress with every aspect in every car they make
now new ferrari's dont look like ferraris used to. weird design nowaydays... 812 superfast and portofino were last good looking ferraris... thats my opinion tho
This is the best in-car camera placement I've ever seen, good job man.
+dickdonpayforstrange Wow thanks so much, I also felt its the best angle so that people watching really get a feeling of the car. I will keep the same camera placement for my next videos :-)
+dickdonpayforstrange agree
i thought it was driveclub for a second
:D
+kosta doce same
+kosta doce Spot on.... Absolutely My thoughts
Me Tooo! ahahah
So many lovely passes in the Alps!
Am i the only one who thought this was Forza in the beginning?
You are not alone
+stanilol I wanted to comment which game is this
exhaust Ferrari 4gtb was beautiful low and whis3
What a stunning road...Daybreak, Ferrari, empty twisty mountain pass...What a dream!
+Hoist Hanger Yeah really was a dream, i'm definitely living a few of my childhood dreams at the moment.
beautiful car and scenery
Just subbed. Jesus how do you not have more subs! This is the type of video I want! Very nicely done
+tadam25 Thanks a lot, only started making videos this year so still leaning a lot but happy you like it.
My God what an excellent video! Epic man, thank you for not ruining pure driver's ride sound with some stupid exhaust sound. Epic driving and epic roads too man. Please, keep up the good work!
+Rafael C. Thanks Rafael, glad you like it. I filmed my next video today, should be up in some days.
That acceleration at 8:15 makes up for the roar-less engine ( a little bit ), sounds alright in the cabin.
+Matthew Keefe Yeah sounds alright inside although can have a little bit of a drone
As F488GTB owner have ti say your movie gives the best Impression of driving this car
i love the rear too. The 360 was one of my favourite cars and this car is blatantly the 'new 360' which is probably why i really likeit!
oh man ......i love that turbo whistling combined with that growl.
So amazing
Good video, this 488 is the nicest design I've seen since from Ferrari since the F430 Wish you could have tested it to the limit. Faster :)
damn that is a nice piece of road
+Keith W. Yeah its one of my favourite roads
+Cars with Luke Thank you for the info! This place will surely be on the list now :)
You're so lucky to have these kind of roads where you live.
Awesome video man! Keep it up! I really love the 488 design and the sound too, of course!
What a great feeling going down the mountain. Purring of the engine is nice!
+scottab140 Yeah it sure is a good feeling.
that car looks pretty damn awesome
I really want to test drive a powerful car one day ~
Yeah it does, especially from the back. I'm sure you will get a chance one day to drive such a thing.
Cars with Luke
wow, you replied .. like 8 times in a row .. wow xD
and yeah, I hope so! another cool car to drive would be the tesla model S
+Thunder Draws Sorry that was my stupid phone. I drove the Tesla, it is interesting to drive but not a car for me, I like noise :-)
Cars with Luke
yeah I know, it happens alot with mobile replys
yeah, having noise and shifting gears is cooler indeed
but unfortunatly, cool cars are not practical :D
*tries to squeeze luggage into a ferrari*
*****
yeah i could look into that :)
Much better than all these videos on track. Gives a better idea of what it's like to drive it on real roads
+Bruno Boucher Thanks, glad you liked it
Car looks and sounds BEAUTIFUL (and that road looked fantastic, also)!!
But for me, my dream car would still be the F430 - coupe or spider.
Thanks for posting this video. It’s kind of like now I know what its like to drive a Ferrari. Very cool. Love that noise it makes !!!!!
Cheers!
Those on board shots; What a car and road! Excellent video Luke.
+Haroon Ash Cheers!
Always love your videos Luke!
This youtube channel is absolutely amazing I dont get how you dont have more than a million subs. But you have just earned one more. Keep it up
Thanks, hopefully get there in the end..
Great car and amazing scenery too. That exhaust note. So jealous.
Nice note and fantastic scenery!!!
Awesome video! This car has grown on me hugely, especially in red! Also nice to see a supercar video with such high quality but real as opposed to scripted!
This video is perfect..
It would be perfect if all videos of driving or something are like this..
+Luka Skrbic Thanks!
Great job from Ferrari like always and nice vidéo !
More videos like this too pleaseeeee. this one is still the goat
Cheers!

well done. Was leaning towards 458. But the side scoops and beautiful rear end stance. Beautiful car.
Seems to gain revs noticeable faster than the 458. I would assume the higher torque turbo engine contributes to this. Sounds fantastic.
Best GoPro angle of any car channel ever
Your channel is awesome, Luke! These videos deserve way more views, and it's the same thing with subscribers. Keep it up!
+DahleJohannes Thanks so much and yes it would be great to get some more subscribers as I really put a lot of work and money into my videos. Just takes time I guess but i'm happy you like them :-)
Fantastic camera angle! You are the first I've seen to do this in a pov. Great work. You've got my sub (:
+hotshot1240 Thanks :-)
what a great car....and a glorious road! Nice!
Hi Luke great job! Good camera angles & quality. +sub
+Emmett M Cheers :-)
It was a blast watching this video. Ive been excited about this car but haven't seen much footage of it. Looks and sounds amazing!
looks like a driveclub footage. amazing!
The 488 is beautiful. I even like the standart wheels. Interior is amazing too. Too bad about the engine. No more of the typical flat-plane crank sound...
On the video, another great mountain pass drive you shared with us. 👍
The car is gorgeous, its one of the few I would trade my TTS for
That thump on upshifting 👌
Nice video man. Everything is perfect: car, quality, angles... And the place is a dream. Very beautiful.
+John Galtman zzz Thanks a lot John, Im still learning but glad you like it.
+Cars with Luke
You are welcome)
We love this car !!!
Thanks a lot Luke.... my dream is doing exactly what you were doing ! Since I was a kid I have loved Ferrari and vow to own one before I die (not sure how, but....)
+jc harris If you want one enough i'm sure you will find a way one day
Amazing video & nice POV, this car is totally a dream for me !
Thanks! yeah it was a pleasure to drive!
now thats how you drive a public mountain road in a ferrari, briskly but safely for you and everyone else :)
+Han Solo Cheers :-)
Subbed! This is a pretty cool video, definitely in the "less is more" style, and I mean that in a good way! Keep it up.
Thanks very much! I will keep making videos similar to this style then for now :-)
Absolutely Amazing What road are you on? Definitely a dream experience, that car on that road equals Perfection what a Lucky guy
+GARY HILLARD Its a road leading out of a small village in Austria called Berwang, its one of my favourite roads for sure!
Agree with you about the wheels! Great video btw and nice to see a good quality video. Subscribed!
wow nice video ! good quality stuff :) the in-car camera footage was amazing
+Stefãn Sanchez Thanks! glad you like the footage.
How did you record the exhaust sound beginning around 7:10? Sounds too good for just coming from a GoPro :)
+Serch An Ha yeah the thing is it is just from the rubbish GoPro built in microphone. I learnt this only works because if you place it right next to the exhaust, its so loud that it seem be OK. Otherwise the GoPro microphone is useless for recording.
Awesome video bro! Love that car, but like you said those wheels dont do it any justice.
+stavura Thanks very much buddy, yeah they don't do they. A better set of wheels would totally make the car I think. I love the back end though.
What a great countryside for a ferrari ride. Thumbs up.
You just gained yourself a new subscriber :)
+Joe John Cheers :-)
Watching after your podcast with Sam!
😄🤙🏻
Awesome sound!
It must be awesome the thin line between: "I want to push it harder, but i can't crash something so expensive !" lol
The back of the ferrari 488 has to be the best ever made.
Amazing scenery to go along with an amazing car. Thanks for sharing...
+David Backer Cheers, and yeah its a incredible place to drive.
Great car and great mountain pass route!
Where can I buy this road?
im not sure whats more beautiful, the scenery or the car.
That is an amazing car! I would love to keep it and drive it everywhere!
co za widoki i trasy. jeszcze piękniej byłoby gdybym to ja prowadziła tą Ferarke
very good video. nice angles. amazing roads. beautiful angle at 8:25
+Kigoz4Life Thanks ver much, I definitely cant complain about those roads.
That's just fucking beautiful
You'd make a great auto review host.... A very crisp review... Thanks for the quality info. Did u ever test the sound system in the car?
+lanreglover Thanks very much, I never planned on making any actual reviews to be honest, just more to share what the cars looks and sound like. Maybe on my next video I will try more in depth reviews. I never tried the sound system, in all the supercars I have driven iv'e actually never even turned turned one on.
Very nice video brother, love how you captured all the angles and a very scenic shooting area. Where is it in Austria btw?
+thepuddfantasy Thanks! I only made it for a bit of fun, didn't expect so many people to see and like it! and yeah it in Austria
+Cars with Luke Where in austria brother, curious to test out my car there
Its from a village called Berwang
I have a 458 so I am biased but a NA V-8 with a 9,000 red line is more thrilling than any turbo boost. When the shift lights light up you are in nirvana. That mountain pass drive seemed to be between 4,000 and 6,000 which sounds like lugging to me. All the great stuff comes on at over 7,000 RPM.

Sings beautifully... loud but not overwheliming
Great!
Thanks but I prefer the sound of 458 Speciale
Arya Ahmadi no turbo power is the way forward
Peter benn pan Turbos spoil the sound. The 458 will always be the pinnacle of V8 Ferraris.
@@trihardcx6743 the f430 sounds better
@@TheCarKrazeOfficial I prefer the 458, but the F430 is definitely up there.
very nice pov! and those roads are really nice, i would rather ride on a bike on those roads though
+Tony Tng Thanks and yes would be amazing for a bike as well that's for sure
...you see why i love my small country ;)? Just look at that road!!
You have a very nice country :-)
Wow really nice video man!! i wonder why so few views!!
Nice filming too, what did you use? just GoPros??
+Giorgio Galeazzi Thanks very much! Happy you like it. not many views because i'm not well known yet so not many subscribers. I used the Sony A7 for filming and the GoPro for filming the exhaust.
I liked the old keys. They gave the car some sort of a classy touch.
+Lazy_legere After thinking about the key I agree with you there
Perfect road for motorcycle :O :D
+TheSqurwiel Ha yes really is, I love bikes as well as cars :-)
+Cars with Luke Me too :)
+TheSqurwiel I can see from your picture ;-) looks like a yamaha headlight to me.
+Cars with Luke CBR 600RR :)
+TheSqurwiel Nice, love the RR, prefer it much more than the R6 ;-)
Downshifting is magical and i assume addictive :)
Sounds much better than the mclaren V8
theTUBEboy44 Mclaren is better.
Years ago my wife had a Mondial. Great little car. Best Ferrari I ever drove was an F40 belonging to a friend. He was kind and rich enough to let me borrow it now and again to take my wife out. It was very powerful.
+Crobular I Thats amazing you got to try and F40, what a great friend! I am still looking for one of those friends ;-)
