    If you manage to find a ridiculously good deal that's too good to be true, buy them anyway and just get them serviced.

      This. Can't agree more and these are wise words I followed myself when I acquired my still in possession set of 1200mk2s. I got the pitch bump removed, fixed the tracking lights the dickhead before me tried to fix but only ended up making the service rep jobs harder, resoldered the RCAs with earthing so there's no separate earthing cable. It was so worth the money and they serviced it too cost me fuck all about 200 to 300 Aussie dollars, the 2 second hand tables cost me 800 AUD for the set. Only 2-3 years later I could have sold them easily for 1200 to 1500.

    Bought my 1210s in 1998 and still going strong in 2021. Made a lot of women happy with me playing my decks. Sexiest thing I’ve ever had the privilege off. Pitch still perfect but lights fading! Long live the 1210! Oh I also bought a 3rd one to to show off x

    When you checking tonearm with antiskate and you put it on 0 does the tonearm have to float towards record ? Only one of my decks does without me bumping it . My left deck will float towards record if I give it a lil bump though. Both arms float back to clip when moving antiskate up in numbers.. ive been reading not all decks float towards record on there own when on 0 .. is this true? 🤔

    My ground wire is too short from vinyl to amp. Now i could use a pre amp but then it wont work with the phono input on my amp. I could also get a cable with double-sided cable lug but it doesnt fit my Technics FG servo SL-BD22D Turntable (it has a round ground wire input)
    Any suggestions? Thx

    I’m telling everyone right now in 2022 if you’re planning on buying a pair of technics 1200s mk2, mk3, mk3d, mk5, or m5g turntables, buy it now while you still can. I guarantee you the pice will double over the next 2 years. Because now 12 years since the above models have been discontinued the oem parts lot has depleted to nothing left from Panasonic and people that I work with are now buying used 1200s by the truckload just to take them apart and sell them as parts. Mark my words the average price for a used mk2 in fair condition without a dust cover is around $600. Next year they will average $900 each in fair condition.

      I recently received a really good condition mk2 (with a dust cover) including shipping from Japan for just over 600 dollars. Such a lovely thing! I'm gonna hand it over to my grandkids one day.

I would like if you can do a full review on the pioneer plx500 turntable and add in if the feet of the technic 1200 fit on the pioneer plx 500 and of the lights on the plx500 can be changed thanks again great videos

    My advice is that any vintage piece of Technics equipment, which I must say age magnificently, don't think you can just watch a few videos and wing your way through a load of shit you would only know you were getting yourself into beforehand, if you actually knew what you were doing. Use the time you will waste destroying what is left of the endangered specie you happened upon and investigate a service and repair store with outstanding reputation and plenty of happy customer reviews and get them to do all the mods and upgrades and service it. Trust me you will save money and end up with an awesome turntable and if you look after it that thing will probably go another 20 years who knows they seem to last forever I've never seen one fuck itself without the intervention of a human being so as I said, be good to her, and she will give you more than you ever asked for.

    Another tip that I could contribute is to bring someone who you can trust that is knowledgeable about these 1200s with you when you buy these used... I bought from ebay and got one with defective RCA cables which was internally damaged! Or spend the extra money for piece of mind buying them from a pro dj shop, Guitar center or turntable lab! It never pays to be a penny wise to be a dollar foolish!

      @Hi-Tech-Ray Před 6 lety

      Its has a great concept but I prefer one set of outputs on each 1200! Although I like that they use metal like the original plate over the ice cold customs where they use something like cardboard! I own a pair of the ICC where I just took off the jacks and used RF shielding sheet tape, cut out the holes and placed the jacks back on, in business!

    • @sliplikefreudian1652

      Duck Hunter hey man, a great recommendation could be the mk3’s from Japan, as the RCA cables aren’t hardwired into the unit. this presents possible power problems though, as advised in the video, so be cautious! mk2’s are the classic dj deck as well, couldn’t go wrong with those either

    Nada de lo que el dijo es al final un gran probema
    El problema mas grande que tienen es el plato que no tenga desga$te producido por haser mucho sckratch el plato es de aluminio y el pin eje del motor es de acero niquelado cuando se hase scratch se ejerse con los dedos una presion acompaniada del movimiento de hasia atras y delante caisando un desgaste en el centro del plato dejando el agujero ovalado y la consecuencia final es que el plato queda con un salto que puede llevar a que la pua $alte de surco
    Como el plato esta echo en base a fundision. No tiene arreglo y la solusion es cambiarlo por uno nuevo y ruega a que el desgastte solo sea alli y no rste tambien en el eje del motor por que si no toca cambiar el mootor tambien
