- This 4-Day Guided Trek takes you to Ciudad Perdida AKA the Lost City of Tayuna in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Park in Colombia. I went with Expotur and would highly recommend them.
The trek leaves from Santa Marta and I believe it cost me around $350 with everything included aside from beer, extra snacks, and souvenirs. We were well fed and hydrated and the camps were all pretty comfortable. We even had some electricity to keep our devices charged to capture the amazing experience.
Hiking Statistics:
~ 25,000 steps per day
~ 10 miles per day
~ 200 flights climbed per day
~ 2,000 feet elevation per day
~ 2,000 calories burned per day

Hey Jenna and Jeremy, incredible video! (I liked the pig crossing the river). I just found your channel. I did the same trek in Aug 2022 and, just like you, had an phenomenal time. I still have yet to edit the footage I took. I loved Colombia so much I plan to go back in September. Any future South America adventures?
Hey Joe! Thank you SO much! Great adventure for sure. So glad you got to enjoy it as well. Colombia had so much to offer and great people. No current plans but I’m sure we’ll be back someday and would love to get back to Galapagos and Patagonia too! (We have other videos about those adventures 😊)
We’ll be heading to Iceland in just 2 weeks as well!

Thank you so much! Haha yes. Glad you enjoyed!
How many hours per day do you hike ? I sleep with a cpap. Is there any electricity available for the hikers while sleeping
It varies, but I’m thinking it was maybe averaging like 5-6 hours a day. There were outlets to plug in electronics, but it can be a bit limited.
Really thinking about doing this trek but not in the best shape....... great video btw
Also if u guys are still in Colombia I'll highly recommend you visit el guaviare
Hey Rondo. Thank you very much. It was not easy, but definitely enjoyable. Could be a good motivator to work towards if you really want to do it!
@@rondorondino8330 We’ve moved on for now, but I’ll save it in Google Maps and maybe we’ll get the chance someday. 😊
According to AdventureAlan: Moderate difficulty (I would agree, I did it in Aug 2022)… “intensity hiking with some up and down on sometimes muddy/slippery jungle trails. Distance: About 44 km (28 miles) out and back, with 2,700 m (9,000 ft) of elevation gain and loss. Duration: The Trek is usually done in 4 days (a half-day, two full days, and a final half-day).
What company did you use to do this trek?
Hey there, I mentioned their name in the description. It’s Expotur 😊
How much was the tour?
I believe around $350 usd 😊
Hi! In 2024, it's 2.150.000 COP per person, in 4 or 5 days - price is the same for both options. Feel free to contact us if you want!
