  • As the spokesman for Cella Lambrusco for over ten years James Manis played the iconic character, Aldo Cella, touring the nation spreading liquid cheer.
'ALDO, ALDO CELLA!'' the ladies would cry, and for years the roly-poly Casanova, the fictional front for Cella wines, would respond with a sly wink that helped to turn Cella into the nation's No. 4 brand of imported table wine.
James died in 2013 at age 73. He was so delightful.

The 1970s hairdos on women were ridiculous.
