  • I'm a very new magic the gathering player, don't make fun of me - this deck is insane. It lost but I was so entertained watching this match in the recent magic the gathering pro tour. It was so fun to watch how the wedding announcements and wandering emperor powered this magic the gathering deck while allowing your opponent to do nothing.

When Sphinx`s Rev was legal, there was a UW-control list with literally no win condition. It won by shuffling the grave back inside the deck over and over with Elixir of Immortality. So yeah, having 4 wandering emperors is considered a fast win condition for a control deck :D

Need to look up this card instantly

Don't forget the Nexus of Fate/Teferi, Hero of Dominaria deck that just looped extra turns and decked their opponent eventually.

Also, the Sphinx's Rev decks usually played one or two Aetherlings as a win con, but yeah there was the elixir loop as a backup. I played that deck :)

It’s a control deck this is extremely normal. “He probably didn’t win because no creatures” is why he’s in top 8 of a pro tour and has won a pro tour previously and you havent

Yeah, this take was really weird... I have seen control decks win with snapcaster beatdown... 4 emperors seems like a fast wincon compared to that :D

I've seen lots of different decks. No-creature decks are hard to play and very frustrating for your opponent. But honestly, if you know how to play them, you can make your opponent cry like a baby 😁
I played one for a while that captured the opponent's big creatures, killed the small ones with pestilence and countered all the rest. I turned into the most hated opponent within a week.

His deck was gas. Don't need creatures in alot of decks to win across all formats

Never seen before? I don't believe that's particularly new. I've played against these kinds of decks many years ago already.
Only win condition were a few creature lands.
Other than that you more or less only play counters and removals.

@@TheManaApprentice yeah you oughta do some research into past standards/other decks at prime. U/W used to win through just teferi, hero of dominaria alone. Also that deck has hullbreacher SB, win con. 2x mirrex, win con. And activated man land, win con

There was a pro tour deck back in the day with one creature a rainbow efreet and 4 stalking stones lol

The games played with that deck take FOREVER to finish and essentially only one person is playin the game. I personally dislike that archetype and am glad it lost in the finals. Respect to Yuta for making finals and he’s a great player but I’m glad his deck didn’t win.

I mean... we've seen decks with literally no win conditions be oppressive in the format, this is hardly anything surprising.

What literally teferi hero of dominaría would infinitely put itself back and deck your opponent

  • @bjj21

MTG is a joke. Millions of people playing, stealing and using the same decks as pros and yet, somehow the same guys win multiple times. It's not cause they are good. They get bumped up by sponsors and that's why they win.
