she did pretty well overall though and was more clever than him. however bakugou is a much more active combatant in comparison and has excelent reaction time. he may not be a strategist in the slightest ubt he is good at knowing how to react to an obstacle and attack.
man I love the fight between the two. This was the moment I started to really like Bakugou. He's just a great person. Not nice, but great. He gave Uraraka a chance to show off, and she did. She was f#cking awesome. The fight shows the great parts of each of them
It would have been revealed anyway. Her goal was to touch him at least once and with his defense being that total, she needed to distract him for at least a bit. If he was distracted long enough, she might have gotten that one touch in. She just didn't expect for Bakugo to be that awesome and just steam-role through that form of offense. Even if she decided the she didn't announce the rocks in the sky, the second she looked up to try to dodge a falling rock, Bakugo would have noticed and his attention would be split and that tactic would have failed. She would have to dodge the rocks too so relaying in the rocks to knock him out while she tried to get in would be a lot more trouble than its worth since she already took so many hits.

The thing about it is that for Ochaco she’ll have to get used to going up against people who are much stronger then her. Thats where her mind must come into play when planning out moves. For Bakugou he understood that in combat you need to take every enemy seriously no matter who they are or else for any moment that you let your guard down could be your last.
