- This is the new kid on the block, the Wampler Mofetta Overdrive/Distortion. This new offering is based on the Ibanez Mostortion, which was only in production for two years. It has since gained quite the reputation amongst session guitarists in Nashville and L.A.
The original pedal fetches a pretty penny on the used market, if you can manage to find one. The Mofetta is based off of this coveted pedal, but is also adapted, revised and modified to Brian Wampler's taste. This means that it's not a straight up clone, but rather a new take on the Mostortion.
Gear:

Sounds great!
It sure does.
Wow,i Love this gain 🤟
Right? Such a great pedal.
Always love drive pedals from Wampler 🤘🏿🤘🏿
They make the best drive pedals.
That sounds great,I am certainly going to get one of those pedals.
It's well worth it!
Fantastic demo, thank you 🙏
My pleasure. What did you think of the pedal?
@@TheToneLoungeI will be checking my local shop today as I have long been wanting to try a Mostortion and love Wampler. Brian's overdrives are always top shelf. His ear and approach to design (who else uses a spectrum analyzer when designing?) make for the most musical drives in my experience. His understanding of application guides him to refine platforms (TS, Blues Breaker, Klon, etc.) to better suit the roles in which they are commonly used. Clarity, musical clipping, and full bandwidth are hallmarks of Wampler drives. They are professional boxes for certain.
Hey man, always love your videos - although for one reason or another I haven’t come across or tuned into your channel since 2023. Sounds like another fun pedal! Interesting how much we love our tube amplifiers but never seem to satiated with drive pedals, always something new to add to the collection. We’re all tube nuts - how come we’re not happy with just the crunch of our tubes? LoL
OD pedals offer more tonal possibilities than what the Vox can on its own. That might explain why we all go nuts for having a wide array of pedals. That being said, there is something cathartic to just using a simple rig, like a guitar and amp with no pedals.
Cool pedal and nice as always review. I thought it would have been demonstrated with the ac-15 but still.... Very good combination with both other 2 wamplers at the end. Very marshally tones with nice midrange.
Hey Nik! I am using the AC15 😜
@@TheToneLounge ooops, sorry
