Before JK came to Liverpool he was already one of best coach in football. The problem was. The media attention he got in Dortmund is much less than in UK.
    7 years in Mainz.
    Promotion to Bundesliga.
    7 years in Dortmund.
    2 Championship and 1 DFB-Pokal.
Defeated Pep many times who was regarded as the best coach in the world.
    Another Problem was MONEY.
Imagine him in Dortmund with all the money he had at disposal like in Liverpool. He could build one of the best team in Dortmund ever
(Hummels - GĂŒndogan - Götze - Reus - Lewandwoski). Just to name a few.
In just 4 years he changed Liverpool to win the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!! He kept his promise to bring at least one silverware to Liverpool! That's big!
That's something PSG and Man City tried for a decade with billions of Euros destroying the market place.
Conclusion: Pep and Klopp were already worldclass coaches in the Bundesliga. With Klopp having more money to keep all his best players together he is building in Liverpool a dynasty. With his positive and humble attitude he is maybe the best coah in the world.
Liverpool are lucky to see his potential. The best transfer they made.

This, so much this. I jumped somewhat late on the Klopp train (after he did analysis on TV for the National Team and then became Dortmund's manager), so I kinda missed the magic that he brought to Mainz. However, it was very clear from the beginning that he is indeed a very different kind of manager and that he's got the magic touch.
The way he TRANSFORMED Dortmund ("people think they won the Champions League in the 90s, they must have always been a top club" - this is very wrong... like you said, they were bankrupt) is stuff of legend.
Even in his last season, they played well for the most part, but they were constantly unlucky (having a million shots on goal that ended up on the crossbar, etc. / not getting penalties while their opponents ended up getting them, etc.). There is even a mini documentary about his last season that shows that numbers wise, they were doing really well (possession, won tackles, etc.), it just wasn't their season and they got extremely unlucky. He should be considered one of if not the best manager in the world. :-)
If you take into account what he does for the fanbase, it's not even close. I mean.. who's rooting for Pep Guardiola? ....

Why do people underestimate the greatness of sir Alex Fergusson? I value Klopp very very high but to say that he is the best manager in the world when looking at what that man has achieved and for how long has he been leading Manchester United is a bit...
Make no mistake i love Liverpool - but sir Alex is also considered one of the best coaches. Problems with Manchester only started to happen after he announced his retirement. Tell me a footballer's name that wasn't shocked when he read these news. No one could have actually believed that at first. Literally no one.
Well i just hope that Jurgen and his mentality maniacs will bring home one title - Premier League championship xD

@@tomodul2619 that's because Liverpool finished second solely because of Suarez he single handily got Liverpool to second with a help from sturridge and sterling. However their defence was absolutely awful, there was very little structure to that team or organisation by Rodgers. Liverpool's wins were based off of individual genius. This Liverpool team is based off of that aswell, but mainly it's how it's achieved. Klopp has turned pretty much every average player to looking like a world beater at times. Also klopp would have won the league any other time however it's unfortunate that he's facing one of the greatest pl league teams of all time man city. He's also unbeaten in a two legged European tie with Liverpool for years. And it's pretty much all down to him. Rodgers was a fluke year but we're seeing that klopp is no fluke.

Insightful & fascinating analysis you did there man. I'd like to add more on the pressing, something i observed from Klopp's evolution is that he realized our players didn't need to press always as it left them prone to injuries and fatigue at the business end of the Season. He also made sure the set up of the team was always narrow without the ball and the midfielders were always close to the defenders to help neutralize counter attacks and loose balls, this also led to a reduced number of shots & goals conceded

Klopp is a very, very clever manager..What really impresses me is that (prior to his appointment) i had him down as a very good manager but a bit of a one trick pony, in terms of mad pressing & great attacking play but not much else but...Wow... How he has evolved (tactically) along with the team is just fantastic to see.. He realized that as a team we needed to be multi faceted and needed much more control of games ..Press when needed..Control when needed..Counter when needed... These facets make us a much more dangerous team to predict and to combat and the most amount of credit to Klopp for that..YNWA

There are also hidden elements of Klopp's style such as the rapport he builds up within the team. Two examples I've noticed are the rapport between Klopp and TAA and also with VVD. It means that often he doesn't need to say anything (or the other way round) - they just know. This is actually an old LFC strength under Shankly/Paisley which Klopp has reintroduced. It makes LFC very dangerous because they work like a machine.

I think it's fair criticism that he "mostly" was a one-trick pony in the past. I mean, Dortmund was more or less "unstoppable" the first number of years (around 4), but then everybody else had caught up and you'd see opposing managers coming up with strategies that could help against Klopp's aggressive style. That's when Dortmund started to falter, at least a little.
He was still successful, but to a much lesser degree.
It's very interesting to see him showing more variation now, it's actually something I hadn't paid enough attention to, so thanks for your comment and of course the great video for shining more of a light on it. :-)

The moment he came to Liverpool, I knew that atleast one english club will compete in Europe and now Liverpool has played three European competitions under klopp in 3 and a half year and played 3 finals.something any manager or club will dream in current capitalist football market. Seems like a success to me and hopefully will lift the trophy this time.

Very precise. It's only when you lay down these contexts, the overjoyed, emotional, bearded face gets fully appreciated. This manager completely understands this generation of football players. His friendly image in the media and connection to the fans makes the players, who are mostly raised in the age of social media connection, feel at home and understood.
