- Bruno the parrot spent most of his time around his mom while growing up, and as a result, sounds just like her! He was very protective of her when his human brother, Jhono, was around, and even began asking him "mom" questions, like "Why aren't you working?" "Have you eaten yet?" "Have you showered?" Jhono started spending more time with Bruno, and now the two are inseparable.

A bird doctor told me that it’s no good to let them touch your lips, because if your saliva goes in their digestive system they cannot get nutrients out of their food it messes their enzymes up or some thing. That’s how my bird died and I didn’t know what was wrong with him, because he was eating but he was actually starving to death because he didn’t get the nutrients

In my preschool we had a parrot. When any of the kids cried he would say, "Don't cry! Don't cry!"
I was so shocked he knew what to say that I stopped crying!

I worked at an Oceanarium back in the eighties and we had a Maca there that spoke Yiddish. He had a Jewish owner that died at 99 and had the bird sense he was 14. So the bird spoke Yiddish and some Hebrew.

Parrots learn the language of the people they live with. That's how all companion animals work. I adopted an amazon from an elderly Scottish woman, Koko spoke some pretty reasonably good English. Then a Spanish neighbour decided to chat him up one day and I discovered my Koko was actually bilingual. At some point in his life, Koko had a Spanish speaking family so he learned Spanish from them.
Why you seen this in the Caribbean like pigeons flying around. I had one myself 😂 every time someone knocked he would said Vaaaa!! That’s like I’m coming lol 😂

Parrots are smarter than us in many ways lol. Look how easily they learn to communicate. They often times even understand what they are saying.
They’re surprisingly intelligent sometimes its mind boggling
so sweet to see a family adopt a parrot and actually take care of the bird and not only that but make the parrot part of the family. They need SO MUCH attention and people don't understand that. You cannot get them and just lock them in a cage. They are like a 3 year old for the rest of their life - which is LONG. Years.
He speaks like a real-mom like he’s got the chancla 🩴 ready if you don’t answer or answer wrong.
If Bruno goes on to outlive his Mom, his voice will be even more precious. Imagine getting to hear the voice of someone you've lost and missed. Bruno sounds a lot like my grandmother before alzheimers set in.

My grandmother had a parrot and hé had exactly her voice. He was allways fighting ( in words) with my grandfather. One day when my grandmother was away my grandfather had it with him and hit the cage. The parrot named Coco said,” be careful boy or I come after you” . It was the joke of the day and after that the funny anekdote at a birthday gathering.
My grandmother was less amused 😉
By the way Coco didn’t only spoke Dutch but he could sing too. As a nightingale and not as a parrot hahah ..!

He really is his brother. Some parrots lives up to 80 years old. One of my neighbors had one. He lived up to 3 generations.

This made me well up. This young man, instead of writing the parrot off as a pain in the ass, keeping him from his own mother, looked at things from Bruno's perspective and both he and the bird ended up benefiting. This is a truly beautiful transition, and I commend Jhono for his openness to the bird's experience and viewpoint.
Well-done, Jhono! May you have many wonderful years together. (And the first question you should ask any potential life=mate should be to sort out how that person feels about your connection to Bruno! You don't want to find out a year or two down the road that the person wants you all to themselves!) Again, well-done on your acceptance and love to Bruno.
The video is over yet I'm still laughing. Their connection was awesome but hearing the bird speak Spanish with the Mexican accent was the best. Sometimes he sounded so much like the mom I had to look to see which one of them was talking!
