I quite like the viva sanitary universal skylo kits. In the kit are adaptors for both 1 ½" & 2" cisterns. The inlet fill float has a ½ brass thread and can be mounted for side or bottom citerns.
This is a kind of all in one kit 👍.
Noice little tutorial here Derek 😉.

Nice vid Derek but I thought you might have just got the same flush valve and clicked the new one in.

I think what he means is the flush valve quarter turns out of its base, so you discard the base of the new flush valve and fit it into the old base.
Saves taking the cistern off, and saves your knees, back and knuckles

Thanks have come across many commercial tanks that have come adrift from the wall because they only had a bead of silicone across the top. Needs screwing to the wall.

It doesn’t always need screwing to the wall some wc cisterns don’t have holes in

Very informative, so thanks as I am about to do a similar job with a different mechanism ( it has a handle). May I point out that yours is a dual-flush system?

Sometimes when I've come across this situation where there is very little space, is I've found it easier to remove the whole unit, (cistern and bowl) out together and then work on it.

Hate those cisterns where the flex goes through the pan, had a syphon to change this week, bolts rusted up etc, pain in the arse.

Flexi with valve combined allows more room, hold copper feed with pump pliers when pushing the Flexi on 😀

I would replace the fill as well as its in the kit and sometime down the road you dont want to be back in to replace it

The video is about changing the flush valve not the float valve

I'm surprised you didn't fit a wall mounted service valve .
Also , I take the opportunity to clean and sanitise behind the cistern and toilet , areas the lady of the house can't reach .
