What’s up with all those trips to the bathroom? Plus, how to have a natural hospital birth.

Baby Natural continues to occupy more real estate in your womb, weighing in at about 4 pounds and measuring 18 inches long.
These days, baby is breathing and swallowing up to two cups of amniotic fluid each day. Where does all that fluid inside baby go? Yup-you guessed it; he pees it right back out. While it sounds kinda gross, this circular process is actually important for baby's lung and kidney development. (Thankfully, babies don’t typically poop while in utero!)
In about 10% of pregnancies, moms will have too little amniotic fluid-usually in the third trimester, and especially if they are overdue. Occasionally, too little fluid (the medical term is oligohydramnios) is a result of uterine growth restriction; your doctor or midwife can work with you on managing this condition.
More commonly, low fluid levels can easily be resolved by mama going home and H-Y-D-R-A-T-I-N-G big time. Shoot for at least 2-3 quarts of water a day, depending on your weight.
Baby and you need to stay hydrated as you head into the final stretch!

Speaking of fluid levels, just when you thought you couldn’t pee anymore, you’re back in the bathroom.
Why? Because your sweet bundle of joy is now resting right on your precious bladder.
Take heart, as the end is in sight! You are SO CLOSE to the main event.

Speaking of the main event, are you educated? I’m talking about a natural childbirth education class. This is HUGE, as you need to be empowered, educated, and supported as you head into birth.
It’s not too late to do the Mama Natural Birth Class, which is all online, on-demand, and on your own time. You can go as fast or as slow as you like. Heck, you could do the whole thing this weekend! Plus, we have a phenomenal, super active Facebook group where we support each other every step of the way.
How to have a natural hospital birth 💡
If you think that you can't have a natural birth in the hospital, think again.
Sometimes women choose a hospital birth for medical reasons, or if they are a high-risk pregnancy. Other times, there are just no other options.
Birthing centers are few and far between in rural areas, and some states outlaw home births attended by midwives (boo!).
But just because you give birth in the hospital doesn’t mean you can’t give birth naturally. A natural hospital birth can absolutely, 100% be done!

Do some natural childbirth affirmations, Scripture readings, or whatever inspirational tools you have for a peaceful and wonderful birth.
Consider getting some professional pictures of your pregnant belly for memories.
