I usually put my plants in water for a week or two before switching to semi hydro. That way if any roots die off I can see what’s happening and rinse them off. I’ve had a lot of success this way!

Our local grocery store had em for 19.99 once but greedy folk bought em all and reposted on market place for triple the price. Maybe one day! 29.99 is the most imma spend on a 4inch pot of Thai con. Wow, I have never seen anyone put moss right down the bottom of the pole in semi hydro. I would have thought the moss would get way too wet. Have you always done that. I look forward to seeing the results.
Just trying new thingsss lol so far for the plants I have in the same set up, the moss is soaking up a lot of the water, keeping the moss pole wet a majority of the time which hasn’t been an issue as of yet 🤞🏽✨

Fungus gnats lay their eggs in soil. The gnats die but the eggs probably hatch on their way to you

Yes it’s completely fine to have no drainage, as I have many plants set up that way 🌱

Update on my Jacklyn, I had to switch her back to soil because she went downhill in pon. She grew a new baby leaf and another one is emerging. 🥹 it’s been a struggle but she’s recovering. Your dragon scale is amazing!!! I think I want one now.

🤔 You don’t have to use your sink to wash your plants you could use a garden hose or a bucket if you don’t have access to a garden hose.

I miss my hose during the winter time! I use that to clean off the roots. I am so glad you’re doing this because I am a wuss to do it. 😅 The Monstera likes to be wet, you should be okay I would think unless they like to dry up in between waterings.
