It's a pretty great offer. And even though there comes a new model mostly the new features are not earth shattering which means accepting such an offer could be a good idea. 😉
My guess is the 3rd quarter of this year. Almost guaranteed a 1” stacked 20mp main camera and sensor and an improved 12mp 3x to 5x optical zoom with a 1/1:3 stacked sensor. 360 degree optical avoidance and probably 10% better flight time than the Air 3. This might be worth the upgrade to my A2S with the smart controller.
What is typical scenario when new model is released? I'm wondering whether rhe 20% Air 3 discount is really limited and/or DJI will increase it back again + discontinue Air 3 model and replace it by Air 4. Anybody knows the history? Idea behind this is whether to buy Air 3 with 20% discount or risk waiting for the new model which might be 500 USD more expensive.
It's a bit tricky sometimes. There are different scenarios. If they proceed like when the Mavic 3 Pro was released, the Mavic 3 Pro disappeared completely. Other scenario is with the Mini 4 Pro, they had the 3 Pro on sale but have it still on stock, also because there is no Mini 4 (non pro) available, so they need to keep the Mini 3 (non pro) on stock to have a unit in place that fits the market. So I would assume, the Air 3 will be kept but the production will be slowed down as more ppl will go with the Air 3S / Air 4
