Damnit, Randy, now I gotta get another piece of equipment i never knew I needed. Gotta get the credit card now.....
Lol sorry about that 😅 but if you do end up getting one, let me know what you think of it. 👍
If you still have your card out, get me one too please!
...and this is why I never make money from my jewelry business. Always a new tool I can't live without. ;)
😅
Great design thanks for sharing it
Randy, this is an excellent video. Straight forward and to the point; great explanation. Still pretty expensive plus the price just increased dramatically because you have to have the mounting equipment as well, however, having said that you can’t put a price on my hands…more valuable than all the money in the world. Thanks for sharing.❤
Thanks and I'm really trying to make a videos that are to the point with as little fluff or wasted time. When it comes to the mounting setup you might be able to solid mount it by taking off the GRS mounting feed and just bolt it to your bench. That being said I would much rather have the quick swap option.
Yeah the saving you hands parts is priceless to me for sure. 😁👍
Wow. That is an excellent design indeed for a dedicated metalworker. Thank you for demonstrating this!
😁
The tool I’ve always needed but didn’t know till now. Definitely saving this to my future buying wishlist. Thanks so much for showing it.
Not a problem and I'm happy I was able to show it off to people so they knew it existed. 😁👍
Wow yet another beautiful tool I can't afford.... yet.... 😂..
Yeah it is really nice but I understand not being able to afford it 😅
Honestly for what this is and looks like it can do, it's plenty cheap.
I think so as well but it's all going to depend on the user and if they think they will make a ROI from it.
Thanks so much for the suggestion and link for the replacement thumb screws. Anything I can do to cut out any allen wrench time in my life is a good idea. Great, helpful video on this tool.
Such a shame that for Australia most of these amazing tools become way to expensive, especially with postage. Looks fab!
This is too cool!💪 I want one!!! I just found your channel tonight and I’m beyond excited to soak up your knowledge…thank you🙏 Kinda funny I went from a video you made from 8 years ago making a simple copper to this video. Love it!
Wow! This is a game changer for me. My finger tips are shot after a day of cutting.
This tool shows a great idea and execution. I think it would be a no-brainer for someone who did lots of large piercing jobs. For an average guy like me, I'll stick with hand strength while I can. I will keep this tool in mind, though.
That is understandable for sure and it's really not going to be for everyone. 😁👍
Wow I love this! I'm gonna have to sell a lot of jewelry before I can afford this...right after I finally get an actual jewelers bench lol
Yeah a jewelers bench can be very handy to have for sure haha.
This tool looks amazing….I may need it.
😁
This would be for the future for me. Love your Storage solution
Reminds me of when I used to do stuff in 2020 and 2021
Take my money!
Lol link in the description
I definitely vaporlocked when I saw the price, especially since I’d have to buy the mounting setup too, but I’ve also got a degenerative joint condition and am not getting any younger… yeah, I definitely need it. Add it to the list of highly urgent and indispensable tools I can’t afford yet.
For the price I'm tempted to Mcguyver a lazy Susan and some aluminum sheet stock. ..
Cool tool! 👍 😃
Amazing 👍
Thanks 😄
Great video, as always. Thanks!
Great saw work Randy! Mind you, shame the laser can't cut right through! 🤣
Thanks and sadly the laser I used can cut through but I might be getting one that can soon 😁
Great work, Randy. Looks like this thing really enables your skills with the saw.
Thanks and it really was nice to use.
I definitely want one❤❤❤
😁👍
Awesome video and I love this tool, such an interesting invention!
Thank you 😁 and it really is a nice tool for sure.
K, that’s a game changer! I like it! My left hand gets so sore from death gripping pieces when I’m sawing! I’ll be looking to order a set!
Yeah that was a problem for me as well for long sawing sessions. 😁👍
Like the idea if using the laser to design. No rubbing off your design on accident. Using this device looks like it keeps the metal strong too. So you don’t have to worry about the metal getting the more material you remove. At least that is what it looks like.
Wow...👍👍👍
😁👍
Nice video, the tool is a bit gimmicky though. For sheet metal I’ve always used a clamp I’ve made from some needle nose mole grips welded to a g-clamp, with thick leather glued to the teeth of the mole grips. They’re great, quickly open and close, quickly set the jaws for the thickness of material, and cost hardly anything to make.
Everyone has to make a profit but when I see an 8" round of 1/4" aluminum for $52+shipping, it makes me consider DIY.
Understandable for sure and the maker for this does encourage his users to make their own parts if they can. Kind of like how I made some adapters for it so you can cut smaller pieces of metal. Have a link in the description to that, I just didn't talk about it in the video.
Thank you for sharing this with us! I really appreciate the way you teach it is so clear and concise! Pls tell me what and where to get a GRS bench mounting set - that will secure/mount this Easy Saw lazy susan. I looked on the link you provided for the easy saw, but I’m not sure about the mounting set for it. Thank you and one last thing -do you do any zoom consultations, answer questions etc.? 0:34
Years ago (don't ask!) I worked in jewelry, and the saw I had you could remove the handle and bottom clamp, turn it 90° and re-insert it, do the same with the top clamp, so I could saw sideways. All the jewelers saws I find now the clamps are fixed, there's no option to load the blade sideways. I remember, also, that the frame was more flexible, I would bend the frame (which was adjustable) to apply the tension I wanted to the blade.
I cannot find any saws today that offer that feature. Are you aware of any like that?
I want one of these, but I don't even make jewellery...
😁
sweet
This tool would be a complete game changer for me. With extremely bendy, hypermobile fingers as well as arthritis, this would be amazing.
However, that price is beyond comprehension for me. There’s no way I’ll ever be able to afford it.
Wow Randy, great find! Or should I say they found you? This looks like a super tool to have in your stash. It almost seems like a "Must have" kind of tool. Is it really that good? Thank you for posting everything you used in the video cause I'd need to get that mounting plate to use this and having your link is useful for both of us! Keep bringing us the cool jewellery gadgets that help us make more beautiful jewellery, won't you? Also, it'd be nice to see you work on some jewellery again, it seems like you've fallen away from that and if that's the case just let me know and I'll stop bugging you to do some. Anyway, great video, keep up the great work! Can't wai)P[)³t to see what you come out with next! Take care, Randy and have fun!
I've been intrigued by this since seeing the maker highlight it in jewelry fb groups. I was wondering if the thickness or height of the clamp limits the up/down sawing action you have to work with in a noticeable way.
When I was using it I didn't really notice any problems when moving it up and down. I don't think I even hit the frame with the saw frame but they might be different for different people.
@@GomeowCreations that's great to hear! Thanks for the reply.
But how do you saw the perimeter of only the pattern or perimeter around a bezel, if the clamp doesn’t hold that perimeter??
So if you have some sort of bezel already soldered to the sheet metal and need to cut it out all you would need to do is clamp it in to the set-up and cut it out. But that's only going to work if you have enough material on the outside of the bezel so the clamp can actually hold it. I did make an adapter piece so you can use much smaller pieces with this and I have links in the description to it.
What kind of blades do you use for small detail work like this?
Nano saw blades, I should have links to them in the description. But here is the link bit.ly/NANOSawBlades
I really think this can be 3d printed with minimal to no loss in stiffness, too busy for the moment but I'll update this comment if I manage to diy this and provide the files to do so
to be fair with the manufacturer this is a great idea but the design can be improved to be cheaper and less bulky
With the feature of the slot, 3d printing won't work well unless you use metal 3d printing. It would eliminate the ability for the tool to rotate. I actually know this for a fact.
Looks amazing and so helpful....until i saw the price.
Yeah it has been very help for sure but I know it's not going to be for everyone. I know the price is going to be a big problem for most people and if this will be worth the investment to them. 😅👍
👍👍👍♥️
😁👍
@@GomeowCreations ThanK you 👍♥️
Why cut by hand instead of a scroll saw? I just started this business and I realized that cutting by hand is both tiring and time consuming. So I decided to buy a machine. But most people cut by hand. May I ask why you prefer manual cutting to machine?
You just started huh....😂😂😂😂
How much cost?
The main part is $400.
Slick, but it looks to be over-kill for most sawing work. Fitting the blade through piercing holes and retightening would be next to impossible with most saws and still pretty tedious with the Knew saw. I don't see this one in my future
That's totally understandable and yeah being limited to only one saw frame to fully use this will be a deal breaker for a lot of people.
400dorra??!
yo im selft taught, I dont got a boss jewler sugar daddy, I can barely afford to pay for my fine metals...
Looks like it only saw flat alloys
For the most part yeah but you can also cut out parts that have soldered bezels but you have to make sure you have enough extra material around it so the tool can hold it.
What has happened to Dennis that invented this??
What do you mean?
I wondered to, he's my fb freind and he just disappeared.
Oh his account got hacked and banned so he made a new one
jo
loved your work and video up until one year ago, but since then your videos seem just to be product related and/or placements/reviews?
Don't get me wrong, do whatever you love (i mean that) but can we expect projects to come like "in the old days"?
much love from germany
Can you send me this for free 😭 really need that ❤
No
400$ your welcome
