That might be the first time I've eaten rabbit, I can't think of another time. I didn't describe what it was like in the video, so I'll try to describe it here. It was definitely a bit unusual, I think both psychologically simply because you're thinking about the fact that you're eating a bunny, but also it's noticeably different from other meats. I'd say it's pretty similar to chicken, but a little tougher and it has a distinctive taste, I guess a bit gamey. And it was a fair amount of work as there were random little bones in the way, so it was a matter of picking out small pieces of meat. The green garlic sauce that came with it was really good and added a lot of flavor. I would definitely have it again, partly because it's something different for a change and also because it was overall pretty good. And fun fact that I learned recently: the word for Spain actually means "land of the rabbits". It was given that name by the Carthaginians in around 300 BC. Who were the Carthaginians? Good question. Here's your answer: czcams.com/video/29f_kQFjnI8/video.html

Hey Gabe, I understand and it's good to try something different out of one's comfort zone from time to time. I really don't like consuming various organs of different animals like liver, brain, kidneys, heart, tongue and tripe which is in menudo a very popular soup here in Mexico. They also have rabbit or conejo here and I'd like to try it sometime. I hear in China that horse meat is sold and eaten there. And when living in Thailand some Thai men said that they eat dog and it's considered an aphrodisiac.

As a Christian you are free to eat rabbit.
1 Timothy 4:4 King James Version: For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
Those telling you to abide by the Law of the Old Covenant were warned about by Paul for they are Judiazers
      Galatians 2 16:21
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Santorini was the opposite direction to Mykonos on that sign. I get it's not going to exact, but they could have put a bit more effort into to directions 🤣

That's hilarious. I didn't notice at the time, but that definitely can't be right, haha. Don't use their directions if you're actually lost.

Haha, I dont think anyone in Spain can imagine a Paella based on Macaroni😅, the real Paella Valenciana is rice with Conejo instead of fish or seafood etc. I've lived in Spain a few years and visited Formentera in 1970 and 1985!!!

As a well travelled man I'd expect Gabe to be able to pronounce Ibiza proberly. I-BEE-THA

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos

It's tricky with the pronunciations. To some extent it's just a matter of place names being pronounced differently in English. Paris isn't pronounced Paris in French, it's "Paree". The same with many cities and various places in Europe, the local pronunciation is different from how we tend to say it in English. So should I say it how the locals say it? Or how people usually say it in English, considering this is an English language channel? I don't really know, which is why I said it three different ways at the beginning of the video.

    • @stevecook706

Most people in Europe know how to pronounce Ibiza. It's a fact that a huge percentage of Americans don't even have a passport so understand little of countries across the pond. There was that scene in Batman many years ago where Bruce Wayne corrects the pretty girl about the correct way to say Ibiza.

ya just dont>> The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you. And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.
