Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
That might be the first time I've eaten rabbit, I can't think of another time. I didn't describe what it was like in the video, so I'll try to describe it here. It was definitely a bit unusual, I think both psychologically simply because you're thinking about the fact that you're eating a bunny, but also it's noticeably different from other meats. I'd say it's pretty similar to chicken, but a little tougher and it has a distinctive taste, I guess a bit gamey. And it was a fair amount of work as there were random little bones in the way, so it was a matter of picking out small pieces of meat. The green garlic sauce that came with it was really good and added a lot of flavor. I would definitely have it again, partly because it's something different for a change and also because it was overall pretty good. And fun fact that I learned recently: the word for Spain actually means "land of the rabbits". It was given that name by the Carthaginians in around 300 BC. Who were the Carthaginians? Good question. Here's your answer: czcams.com/video/29f_kQFjnI8/video.html
its in the bible don't eat rabbit
Hey Gabe, I understand and it's good to try something different out of one's comfort zone from time to time. I really don't like consuming various organs of different animals like liver, brain, kidneys, heart, tongue and tripe which is in menudo a very popular soup here in Mexico. They also have rabbit or conejo here and I'd like to try it sometime. I hear in China that horse meat is sold and eaten there. And when living in Thailand some Thai men said that they eat dog and it's considered an aphrodisiac.
@@Resmith18SR no don't eat them no pig and rabbit or raw fish
As a Christian you are free to eat rabbit.
1 Timothy 4:4 King James Version: For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
Those telling you to abide by the Law of the Old Covenant were warned about by Paul for they are Judiazers
Galatians 2 16:21
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Oh dear, opened a can of worms...
Hi everyone. I saw Gabriel last saturday on the flight from Valencia to Ibiza. I didnt want to bother him, but observing him you could see that is a humble and laid back guy thats not in the youtube travelbog for the money like many youtubers. In his videos you could see that he enjoys travelling and his videos are a way to pay and mantain his passion. Enjoy the beautiful island of formentera
And that he is and like many say an original vlogger.
As UK resident Spain is like our 2 Nd home.we travel to Spain around 4 times a year and we love it for a family vacation.Hope you enjoy it too😊
Would you go anywhere else
One of the most beautiful places in the Balearics you will love exploring this paradise we have stayed her many times 😊
3:46 Gabriel this is one thing we love about you…not sure where I’m going next! But it always seems to work out! …now on to the rest of the video!~Cara 😊
Been here a few times as a day trip from Ibiza. It’s beautiful ❤
Umlucky with the weather this week a real cold dip and lots of rain in south east of Spain and Balearics. It's been warm/hot since February so bad timing...but the rains are much needed.
New to your channel
I live in Oklahoma
Your way of life is amazing
After watching you interview your mom, I guess you take after her wandering spirit.
Am enjoying your travels.
You remind me of my son,the day after he graduated from college he move to S Carolina.then out west to Oregon/ Cali. He favors Oregon. He doesn’t get home very often. He hasn’t ever had a permanent address.
We all follow different paths.
Happy trails!
Love the room with the balcony for 100 euros. It aren't cheap, but it's a holiday island. Have fun and relaxing time in Formentera.
*Let's start a gofundme for a portable drying rack for Gabe!*
Fideua is the typical Valencia dish. It's pasta and seafood. Paella in Valencia is rice and rabbit. Both are delicious. I have never been in Formentera. It does look so mellow!
I see, good to know.
Visit Canary Islands sometime, Tenerife is nice
Beautiful place. Having a relatively rural island is much more attractive that the crowds in some places. Having some land but only a few minutes from the beach is ideal.
First Impressions seems like a chill vibe place and very picturesque.
Another great video Gabe this island is amazing
One of my favorite islands in the world…glad you went…visit the beaches of Ses Illetes…amazing…and the lighthouse Far de Mola, have some good food …also not too expensive at Cafe Espardell right there on the boardwalk in Es Pujols…really cool vibe…
Enjoy…greetings
If you have no plans for the next travel I would suggest visiting Andalucia, in the south of Spain. Really a stunning area with great cities like Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and Ronda. Might want to extend with a trip to Gibraltar.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Great, hadn't seen that one yet 👍
That was during my first trip to Spain in 2016, so the videos are pretty bad. I visited Seville, Granada and Madrid, all very nice cities.
Metric a Toronto-US band Wrote a song titled Formentera. During the pandemic when they were i. the recording studio and needed a segue or break they would pull out a world atlas and snd found formentera. I must get there one day.
Always a joy Gabriel to enjoy the vids. Thx
So happy you made it - Have a blast!
I hope u revisit ikaria greece, im am from there and it definitely deserved a few more days sense the last time u went. ALOT to see on the island
czcams.com/video/TnMHemqKWt4/video.html
@@MinimalCommentary622 Sounds like there's a lot more to see the next time. I did go to the village of Manolates: czcams.com/video/sh0N4403H6Y/video.html
@@MinimalCommentary622 Exactly, a sad situation, really messed up the trip. I spent the next several days figuring out how to get her back to the Netherlands, so missed the chance to explore more of the island. Hiking to that remote chapel on a hill sounds like my kind of adventure.
Hola Gabriel, gracias por esta video. We love your adventure and waiting next video. Chaos
Hey gab , looks like you're having a great time .
We’ve been holidaying in Formentera every year for 14 years. Thee best beaches; a laid back vibe (in September). I’d avoid in high season as it’s rammed! Prices are steadily increasing like all the Balearics, but yes, it’s more expensive than say Majorca.
Exellent.. Magnific.. Brilliant... Thanks Gabriel 👍👍👍
What a lovely place
Gabriel marvelous 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Gabreil, this island is beautiful looks like a beautiful place to relax unwind you look you're still braving the elements with your jacket on you should have taken your traditional dip and brave the sea. The Paella is delicious, with mussels and shrimp and you can order sangria which is very refreshing.
That is a beautiful island! 👍
🎵🎶 Everybody Was Kung-Fu Fighting🎵🎶. . . . . . . . . .haven't heard that song in decades !!!
Looking forward to your visit to Ibiza, Gabe!
Beautiful sea colour very blue...nice video 👍
That Eurodance song immediately starts playing in my head whenever someone mentions Ibiza 😅
Paella is a dish typically made with rice, and which may include different ingredients such as chicken, seafood, fish, rabbit, vegetables etc. Fidegua is a similar dish that substitutes rice with noodles. Every town has it's own paella recipe, so there are many kinds. Paella is the name given in Valencia to the pan where the "paella" is made.
Beautiful ❤
Such amazing vlogs forever I really enjoyed it stay connected....
Looks like a chill place. Beach not as wide as in the mainland.
Your outfits are absolute gold.
Hey Gab, Paella is definitely a Rice dish and not macaroni. It traditionally uses Bomba rice.
Agreed. And Valencian Paella (the original) is not a seafood dish -- it is a countryside / farmers dish made with chicken, rabbit, or even duck. Seafood paella is more of an international variation and very popular in Catalan region.
I think the other person was joking ;-)
@@PaulaBean I hope so, otherwise they've been eating Macaroni with cheese every time they've gone to Spain 😂
I had a paella in Barcelona once that was made with little noodles. It was NOT good! 🤮
indeed! The macaroni paella Gabriel refers to is called Fideua, they are not macaroni but a different format of pasta
Formentera is beautiful. We were there just 5 days ago in es pujols and have stayed on formentera many times. You must visit ses illetes beach it’s stunning. Not far from the port. There’s also a nice beach at the port la savina beach and the l savina apart hotel.
Harald Baldr traveller mode. Harald investigates!
Everybody was kung fu fighting! 😂 🥋
Glad to see you've got your 'smalls' out to dry!
Realmente quien necesita el caribe teniendo esto tan precioso aquí?😊
Go to San Francesc (san francisco btw)for breakfast and to sant ferran at the fonda pepe (hemingway’s favorite place) for dinner
you might like Sardinia:

hiking: Selvaggio Blu
beaches: La Pelosa, Is Arutas and the small bays overlooking the Golfo di Orosei
❤ beautiful ❤
I did summer seasons in Formentera enjoy it! Better rent a scooter to explore it! both lighthouses are impressive (Pilar de la Mola and Cap de Barberia) check out San Ferran for traditional restaurant Fonda Pepe and Sa Garrafa bar (the owners are cool). Ses Illettas is the most famous beach but Mijorn was my favourite, less people and umbrellas. Blue Bar, Chiringuito Lucky, El Pelajo... Hierbas Hibicenca and Pajesa salad...so many memories!!! waiting for more videos, enjoy it!!!
Nice lookin place Gabe 👍
go to Minorca and visit the neolithic constructions 🎉

In future viewers can see videos that are made from peoples memories. Its already public that thoughts cant be turned into text, and many figure out more what can be done to get accurate historical travel-videos.
Fideuà is a similar dish that is made with pasta. It was created much later than paella.
How come you took down the third Valencia video. I was looking forward to seeing it!
Remember years ago Formentera was so cheap and hardly any buildings. Cycled all around the island. Goats everywhere. Definitely more commercialised. Would love to visit again.
I was thinking the same. When we used to go to Ibiza, Formentera was somewhere you went for the day. Few people stayed there as there was hardly anywhere to stay!
I was in Formentera in 1976. Only one building, where you got coffee, groceries, bike hire, a plumber, and your eyes tested (probably). A few homesteads dotted around but otherwise nothing. I have a photo taken from one end of the island and you can see the other end, with nothing in between. How things change! Beautiful place but not sure I'd like it now.
@@isobelmatheson8036 Same here we had our 1st day trip from Ibiza late 1970's. Hired bikes. Did the same about 1981 and 1984. Really would enjoy a trip back to see it. Going to Javea later in the year. I am wondering can we do a trip from there or Denia. It still looks nice but was shocked when I saw all the buildings.
If you go to dinner in Spain at 6 or 7pm you will be the only one there, lunch is after 2:00 and dinner is after 9:00 pm 😂😂😂
The beach we went 2 was beautiful, on the left side was a nudist beach and the right side was the other beach but iv forgotten the name of it but it was stunning 😍 ❤x
It's nice to have a look
The Nudists on the Nude Beach are usually the people you never want to see naked.
Clear water but not cheap for May!
Agree, it's very similar to a Greek island where the same room would be 30-40 euros, especially in May.
Nice like cala bona
Now hotel prices have gone up generally. I think we need to reset price expectations. especially if prices are in euros.
The island looks less well developed than other places in Spain. Not so many palm trees around but the sea looks clean.
Gabe, when you travel do you look at or think about what it would be like to live in the area?
Definitely.
I wonder if you have come across what seems to be two shallow salt water lakes (visible on the map) located on the northern side of the island?
You might see what you're thinking of in the next video.
No Valencian paella is definitely rice based. That area is the major rice growing area of Spain.
Have you ever considered taking a motorcycle test when you're on one of your breaks back in the US? It seems you would make good use of it if you ever did!
Yes, I've thought about it but never gotten around to doing it when I was back home. It would definitely come in handy in certain places.
Go to canarys! Tenerife, Santa Cruz. Gran canaria Las palmas! La Palma!
czcams.com/video/D_Gym2vh8Ic/video.html
Try out Of la Palma island which is part of the Canary islands in the Altantic ocean
czcams.com/video/D_Gym2vh8Ic/video.html
Lovely island to be lazy in. Did you manage to finish that nice looking meal?
Go to Nice next, or Capri!
czcams.com/video/pxDh6FWlE6I/video.html
Again first one to comment here.. Yessss😅🎉
😀
There’s two restaurants in Formentera to AVOID, both rip off tourists charge 5x the price, been reported many times. One is Juan y Andrea, a beach shack on Ses Iletes beach (a bottle of water is 8€, one small beer 7€ and that was some years ago, tourists receipts went viral). The other is a seafood restaurant called Es Menestre which charges you hundreds for a dozen oysters and when someone refused to pay the police were called and the Italian tourist was forced to pay it, it was a scam.
A paella with macaroni? You've been tricked. Paella is made with rice, and has to have a crust on the bottom, which is called 'socarrat'.
Somebody commented that the Valenciana paella is with pasta instead of rice. I guess I'll find out when I try it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos i think they were talking about Fideua, a kind of paella made with a special format of pasta... better the classic with rice and socarraet that you have to scoop with a spoon from the bottom of the pan 😋😋😋
@@gianlucapagnoni283 I guess so. In the comment the person corrected me when I mentioned that paella was mostly rice and they said in Valencia it was made from pasta. Sounds like they were talking about fideua.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos You learn something new about Spanish cuisine every day! 😘
Hi!
Yo. ✌️
There was two sides to that rabbit. You got the whole left side. 😁
I thought you were going straight to Ibitza?
I did, flight to Ibiza and then ferry to Formentera. But going back to Ibiza tomorrow.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Yeah...can't wait to see Ibiza. heard a lot about it
Casa Cerrada means that house is on a dead end street. These places really can get away with charging double or triple what they really should go for.
Santorini was the opposite direction to Mykonos on that sign. I get it's not going to exact, but they could have put a bit more effort into to directions 🤣
That's hilarious. I didn't notice at the time, but that definitely can't be right, haha. Don't use their directions if you're actually lost.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos 🤣
🥇🙋♀️👋
Haha, I dont think anyone in Spain can imagine a Paella based on Macaroni😅, the real Paella Valenciana is rice with Conejo instead of fish or seafood etc. I've lived in Spain a few years and visited Formentera in 1970 and 1985!!!
Don't forget the socarrat ;-)
🇪🇸
Looks nice but I ain‘t eat‘in no island rabitt

As a well travelled man I'd expect Gabe to be able to pronounce Ibiza proberly. I-BEE-THA
It's tricky with the pronunciations. To some extent it's just a matter of place names being pronounced differently in English. Paris isn't pronounced Paris in French, it's "Paree". The same with many cities and various places in Europe, the local pronunciation is different from how we tend to say it in English. So should I say it how the locals say it? Or how people usually say it in English, considering this is an English language channel? I don't really know, which is why I said it three different ways at the beginning of the video.
Most people in Europe know how to pronounce Ibiza. It's a fact that a huge percentage of Americans don't even have a passport so understand little of countries across the pond. There was that scene in Batman many years ago where Bruce Wayne corrects the pretty girl about the correct way to say Ibiza.

A whole rabbit ? For ID purposes ? Oh goodness !
Another place named by the Phoenicians, but they get no respect.
Tourist hole
ya just dont>> The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you. And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.
A 🐰 bunny 🐇 rabbit? Seriously?
€100 a night! Not really cheap!
seems really nice but seems very expensive and quite boring
