In this clip, Yung Joc reacted to T.I. ranking the greatest rapper out of Atlanta, and Shawn Prez let Yung Joc pick from Future, Jeezy, Outkast, Young Thug, and T.I. Yung Joc explained that Jeezy and Gucci aren’t technically from Atlanta, but they represent the city in a major way. Yung Joc then added that he can’t choose the “greatest” because they are all special, including T.I., who Joc thinks “stumbled” along the way but bounced back. From there, Yung Joc spoke about Jeezy and Gucci Mane, and he went on to point out that Outkast has diamond records. Yung Joc added that no one was ever bigger than Outkast, who Joc believes are the only natives who have sold out Centennial Park in Atlanta. Joc believes that this proves that Outkast is the greatest rap act out of Atlanta.

It very well thought out and articulated, it really was. However, I think that only works for Atlanta. That wouldn’t work for Queens or even Brooklyn alone, much less all of NYC rappers. NYC has way more of a complex rap/ hip hop history.
Ludacris is the one in Atlanta from rap to being apart of one greatest franchise. No one can argue.
OutKast I believe are the GOATS. The Dungeon family contributed to Hip Hop in ATL dramatically. A lot of people did. Jermaine Dupri has to be mentioned even though he is not a rapper but his contributions to Hip Hop from ATL are huge. There are a lot of people that have kept ATL in the spotlight for decades now. ATL hasn’t really fallen off in hip hop. It’s a Mecca
It weird how people leave Jermaine Dupri out the Atlanta hip-hop conversation. I guess cause he carry himself like a New Yorker but it doesn’t matter how you sound, it’s all about where you at. JD is a perfect example of that. He’s a incredible producer, songwriter (yes he also writes) and he’s a great businessman/mentor.

Everybody knows had it not been for ‘Outkast’ & Jermaine Dupri . ATL might not have the notoriety it currently has for Hip Hop and Jeezy , Gucci , Future , Ludacris , T. I. & Yung Joc might not be household names had it not been for ‘Outkast’ paving the way . We really should respect them and call them the pioneers of southern hip hop music since they were technically the first group to break out nationally and become superstars around the globe 🌎. I remember being a junior & senior in high school and bumping ‘Outkast’ on the way to school . I love hearing them being sampled frequently in 2022 . Fetty Wap & Quavo & TakeOff sampled ‘So Fresh & So Clean’ and did a phenomenal job not only remaking the song but paying homage as well .

I was at Centennial Park when they had their last concert...MAN the cloud of weed smoke over the whole part was crazy! Not to mention people showed up that aint even tell me they were going. Shit was pack to the back. Kid Cudi and Childish Gambino (Donald Glover)....shit didnt hit the roof till Outkast came on. I also seen Joc in concert....He had alot of peole at his show and his stage performance is next level also. Dont sleep on Joc in concert.
