Great writing, directing, music, location, lighting and brilliant acting even the dog knew its part. Like a donkey f......g a hippopotamus its party time! I've been to parties like that. Happy Days.
Anyway, like what're you going to do, _count it all?_ It's never pocket change or laundry coins. It's always bills. And 10,000 would take like 2.7 hours @ one bill/ hour.
I love how this scene kinda throws around the trope of the criminals short changing the corrupt police. Instead they just explain it clear as day. Why would they? It defeats the whole purpose 😂
Of course it’s all there that would defeat the whole purpose of the interaction, fucking brilliant line bc it’s like holy shit no duh cops it’s all there
Irish comedy is so fucking underrated lmao. Love English humour.. but when the Irish play on the stereotypes there is nothing better.. it's also why Canadians are better than American comedians. Subtle vs shocking
@@boycemark6470 yeah, it has a darker feel. Another masterclass from big Brendan too. Not gonna lie mate, I love everything both brothers have done, with the exception of 7 psychopaths, which is still decent
@@hamishmunroe9906 agreed. Just flicked through their movies, the Guard was absolutely brilliant. Love their writing, clearly have no problems taking longstanding perceptions and turning them into thought-provoking scenes. In Bruges, Calvary, and the Guard. I love a movie, dialogue, that draws you in and gently nudges you into questioning what you thought you were sure of. Top flight casts help this process of course. Again, cheers for the info, much appreciated.
@@boycemark6470 agreed, the use of language by both brothers is pure poetry, especially In Brugge. The films you mention are, in my opinion their best three, but even the "American style" efforts are great films. War on everyone maybe takes a couple of watches to fully appreciate how much of a gem it is. And 3 billboards maybe splits opinion, but in mine it's a thoroughly entertaining film. Maybe lacks the clever use of language that In Brugge has, but I think it was intentional to reach a broader audience - which it did. What other recent(ish) films have impressed you? Maybe a funny idea, but why not let Mark Strong play the next James Bond? It has been discussed about POCs and women to play the part, but why could JB not be bald, while we are at it? I am sure, Mark woud do a good job.
exactly, because dogs are known to spontaneously drop off the docks for no fucking reason at all... with a leash at least you could smother him, so he doesn't have to endure the swim back to the shore in that cold water

Holy shit, you've just perfectly summarized the modern world with one sentence there: "A clash of cultures united only by their love of money."😆
I have always thought this exact thing whenever “it’s all there?” Gets asked in a film
Sometimes it can make sense, but not in a situation such as this where the pay is supposed to establish a future dynamic
Anyway, like what're you going to do, _count it all?_
It's never pocket change or laundry coins.
It's always bills.

The disdain he feels for them is palpable 😄
Mark Strong is radiating lethal levels of “I can’t believe I have to deal with these muppets…” in this scene. 😂
