He got the nickname "Lucky" from Dave "TIger" Williams in his rookie season in LA. He lived with Marcel Dionne who was playing out his career with the Kings. Williams said he was lucky to be able to stay at Marcel's house while he got his feet wet in LA. That Kings team included Dave Taylor, Jimmy Carson, Dionne, Bernie Nicholls and the great Jim Fox. Luc still led the team in scoring in spite of it being his rookie season.

Too bad Lucky Luke didn’t win with Kings. I always felt goaltending was the week link. Kings needed a duo as Rhudy was mostly too tired during playoffs from playing too many games in regular season

Believe it or not....many years ago...the kings were so unpolpular, that they had a kings night at the red onion....in manhattan beach if i recall....my buddy and i walk in and there are all the kings in the bar. Phil sykes was the nicest guy....heck....they were all nice....and funny....when it was restroom time, we walk back through the lobby and there is luc and another guy sitting in the lobby...we shake hands and say, "why the heck are you sitting out here?" In his great accent, he says, "oh ...eh....i am not 21 yet....cant go in the bar." You forget they are just kids. Anyway....there were more players than fans, but they were great sports. We used to sit in section 4 colonnade and smuggle in a pony keg! Tom holleran....where are you? 5$ with a student id! Good times.

Did you ever go to the King’s practice rink in Culver City? A dump with one sheet of ice, no weight room, and the dressing room was up a flight of stairs. No wonder they stunk almost every year until finally getting a new practice facility. College teams had more invested.

@@UggNINE absolutely it was a quote from the clip, and because they selected it as such, it did come off as negative-sounding. To be fair, not wanting or even being afraid to speak to someone for a year doesn't sound very positive. If anything, it's confrontational.
