    My friends………. I’m a 43yo French guy, I had the DandyDash, this car represents so much for me, so much…
    I upgraded it with some Nikko’s option parts, aluminum shocks, spikes tires…
    For the first time in my life I had this feeling to have almost a real proper RC car, but in fact it was REALLY a real one and a very good one.
    I have NEVER broken something on it, I’m just realizing it now…
    I was dreaming so much on the SuperSprint model and all the option parts who were listed into the manual…
    In France it was SO MUCH DIFFICULT to find these option parts… We only found one shop with my father in the city of Marseille who had few option parts, it was even not a RC shop, just an Electronics Repair shop who had these very precious expensive parts in a glass display case, I was CRAAAAZY watching this…………….
    I will remember this day all my life I swear, my first option upgrade parts, what an absolute treasure it was for the little boy I was (10-11yo, 1990-91, don’t remember the year exactly)………
    Watching this video is shocking me so deeply I didn’t know about that BRAT upgrade !!!!!!!!!!
    I’m in love……………
    Thank you so much for the video !!
    Big salut 🫡 from France
    ViNZ.

    Nikko needs to bring back these cars. And bring those old semi hobby grade toy grade ones that are so memorable.

      They sure did and the Brat was the best they did. 7 cells chassis, ball diffs, quality dampers, universal shafts, bearings… they weren’t mucking around.

    • @MustangsCanTurnToo
      @MustangsCanTurnToo Před rokem +1

      They did a few! I’d say the nikko dictator was 90% of the way there. An outstanding chassis with good handling. Hobby swapped ones are competitive (at least in a neighborhood show down kind of way) against modern rc cars

      Entered into the 1989’ IFMAR here at St Ives, Sydney I only knew of the Brat from the pics that came to light in the Dirt & Track magazine. I thought it was a joke at the time of print but Nikko actually did a good job of creating a chassis worthy of competition. I raced this car at 2 of our very first vintage meetings. Sadly sold it long ago to a friend in a time of desperate need.

      @Bormac073  Před 2 lety

      Brad do you ever get to an off road electric buggy track? At our vintage meetings here in Australia we run silver can 540 Johnson motors and coupled with 2 cell Lipo these cars get around very quickly. Faster than the stock class back in the 80's and 90's would have been. If you have a look back through some of my event videos which I have up you will see examples of cars running. The Brat however has grown fragile over the years and although I raced mine nearly 15 years ago, today the plastics are too brittle.

      So if you watched the video you’d understand the ‘BRAT’ upworks kit was used to upgrade the other Nikko kits. There were in fact 2 different upworks BRAT kits so depending on which Nikko buggy you started with would depend on which kit you needed.
      One thing is certain, for the time it was ground breaking for the company. There was even said to be a 2nd prototype which evolved from the car we know of.
