- Today we try various street food in Taipei's Shilin Night Market with my housemates Kim and Steve. We eat soupy Sticky Tofu, Radish & Red Bean Wheel Pies, Candied Cherry Tomato, Xiao Long Bao, Cheesy Balls, Taro Pearl Milk Tea, Fresh Grilled Shrimp, Pineapple Cake, Handcrafted Mochi, and Pork Paper. No joke, we tried them all! Some dishes stole my heart. Others tasted weird, but good. Haha. Watch to see the foodie adventure unfold :)

My first experience with stinky tofu was at that same night market. I was only in Taiwan for 2 days, so I couldn't eat that much (especially since I was working most of the time). The stinky tofu wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were also these black pepper pork puffs there. Those were amazing! So much good food in Taiwan!

That market is so fun... crazy busy every time I go but great atmosphere!
the red skewer candy is
called 糖葫芦
it's traditionally made with some type of sour berry, I forgot what. They sell them in China, mostly Beijing. The vendors carry the skewers on long poles with holes to stick the skewers in.
They're called candied haws in English, I believe.

Yeah, the first time I had a Korean style rice cake, I thought to myself: this is the hardest rice cake I've ever had in my life :D They use different amounts of water to rice flour ratio I guess. I prefer softer rice cakes but of course then you wouldn't be able to cook with them the way they do in Korea. So, both kinds are delicious in their own way.
