We ocasionally met in Berlin Handpan Fest '17 and I just came here to say that I admire and deeply respect your love for sharing the knowledge. since the years of your cajon and frame drums tutorials I've seen your love and dedication for it. I'm grateful for your insights, both musically as pedagogically. So yeah! Danke schoen!

Dear David. What a fantastic idea than teaching/showing us how to compose a complete song from one of the great "patterns" we learnt from you! I vote for Basslap (and Khaligi second). Also, congratulations on Season1 of these mini series: the quality of these mini tutorials is truly outstanding. It makes perfect sense to take a break from this time-consuming project: this being said, I look forward to season 2. :) Thank you sensei for transmitting your passion, and for your great work in the community. Best of luck in your new projects.

Plus if you want to offer up each song that we can purchase as individual lessons, For example we could pay $50 or $99 to learn as many complete songs as you put out! They are so wonderful and impossible to choose just one! Thank you for your Awesomeness and for all your hard work for the Friday sessions!

First of all David, thank you so much for these weekly pieces, it was so very nice. I like this overview with you playing the pieces without the rest of the lesson, as it gives me a better flavor for what the end product will sound like, then I can go back and play with the lesson.
It will be nice to have a little break, so it will allow me some additional time to practice more with the great compositions you have offered us.
After listening to the 11 that you have here a number of times, there were five that stood out for me for various reasons. Half-Time Khaligi is nice in that it is a slower tempo and has an airy and almost more mysterious feel to it. Basslap is a very nice upbeat piece, sort of one you could dance to. It feels like 2-step and Khaligi 1 have a very similar beat or tempo, as though they could be different parts of the same piece. I may even try that-with a little more practice that is. I also like the Many shapes of one piece.
Of these I think for me, it is Basslap, with Half-time Khaligi and Khaligi 1 tied for second and for different reasons. Thank's for the video and the inspiration to play with these some more. I'm looking very forward to next season and whatever else you do. Hope you have a great summer.

    • @DavidKuckhermann

My favorite is "Many shapes of one phrase", because I made already a composition from this former lesson, but it feels like there is still something missing. The second one is SAMAI, because my son has a handpan with a Hijaz scale, and I would like to compose something with him together, and the third one is the half time Khaligi, because I´m very fond of slow rhythms.
