My mother had the same venetian glass piece you found, and my grandmother had the same type of fur hat. Thank you for bringing back some pleasant memories to me today.
Karen, I love listening to your commentary as you shop. I catch myself answering your question, or just becoming part of your narrative. My daughter has caught me more than once, asking, " mom, who are you talking to. LOL.. Thank you, for letting me feel as though I am with a best friend.
I really enjoyed this today! We met Guy Wolff about 20 years ago when he was in Kohler Wisconsin for a Garden show. We bought some of his pots that he signed and had a nice conversation with him. Also, the stitching is called Tatting and my Grandmother put it on the edge of handkerchiefs and dresser scarfs that she embroidered. Lots of good memories while you were shopping! Thanks!
I think I could spend a weekend at Mother Tuckers! I’ll just curl up in a corner to sleep, lol. The deals there are so good! Who wants to shop at Goodwill when they could get better deals at an antique mall with so many more options! 😊 Edit- I love that the vendors at MT don’t mark their items high in anticipation of a 50% off sale. Also, I love the Venetian glass bowl you picked up! It’s absolutely stunning! Great find!
Oh my goodness, Karen! I was saying to the screen, “Oh wait, stop! Go back!” Lol. I love antique shops, and it’s funny how we all like different treasures. Love your taste though! ❤
The first time I ever went into a ReUzit thrift store, I was AMAZED, speechless and dumbfounded! It was so incredibly CLEAN and well organized. It looks nothing like other thrift stores. They sell much nicer things. I think they are run by the Mennonites in PA. There are 2 of them and they are both pretty big. One of them is 2 floors! Could totally spend HOURS in there!
Alpaca is gorgeous wool, so soft and warm. I am amazed by this store. So much to see. I have learned a lot watching and listening to you. Where I live there is only one store like this, 50 miles away 😔, the selection is pitiful and prices are high. You are blessed with abundance where you live !
Hey Karen. You’re finding some really nice things today. In the first store, some vintage art bird figurines by Andrea by Sedak can sell for really good money but some figurines don’t sell for much at all. I think they’d have to be looked up individually so you’d know what you’ve got. In the second store at 39:38 you are showing an old stitching art called tatting. I had a very old aunt that did this into her 100’s. It’s a very fine stitch and takes hours to do. I don’t think people nowadays are patient enough to do this…but it’s very beautiful. ♥️
The pottery piece you called crude was intentionally so. It appeared to have been made with a technique where you throw a piece and then hit it with a wooden paddle or other instruments while wet and then carefully reform it from the inside so as to leave the markings on the outside. That mark on the bottom was a stamp so likely a professional potter or studio. A student mark would usually just be initials or last name and a year.
2nd comment- I cracked up when you mentioned playing with salt & pepper shakers when you were younger. We are the same age & I remember playing with my grandparents salt & pepper shakers! They were these little magnetic kissing dolls & I was obsessed with them. Life was so simple then. Thank you for the memory. I haven’t thought about those in many years. ❤
Mother Tuckers is 2 miles from my house, I also smile when you go to Lancaster Goodwill, I worked there years ago, part time and then I worked full-time at East Earl Goodwill, it's a little country store, I love seeing the treasures you find
OH, I Love the metal glasses by the swung vase! My sister always had them, they remind me of the vintage Shiny Brite pinecone Christmas Ornament colors! lol talk about a rabbit hole! Love you Karen!
At 6:04, the stack of plates to the right is Arabia pottery made in Finland - the mid century modern pattern is called "Crown Band". My mom had several pieces of this and I grew up with it. Makes me very nostalgic to see it here in your video! 🤗
Good Sunday Morning Karen! Enjoying your shopping along with coffee & brunch my son made for me! That is definitely a 'crumb tray' that also had a small brush'. My Nan had one she use for dinners with a linen table cloth. You brushed off the table between courses. I was alway so happy to do it as a child! 💕 Lovely to visit other stores with you for variety. Thank you for respecting the 'privacy' of others!! Patty ☕🥓🍳🍓 Alberta 🇨🇦🍁
Those were all fantastic items that I can relate to over the years, So Mother Tuckers is the place to be. I love the crumb catcher to use on a fancy tablecloth on that special day or just display it from days gone by.
I spent years collecting and amassing knowledge and every time I watch your videos, I learn something new and spend most of the video with my mouth hanging open. You're amazing for doing all this work for us. Thank you. I'm eternally grateful and so is my family because you save me so much time. Your son is so peaceful and I love that during his whole video. He is enamored with that little tiny chest imagining the world of treasures that must exist inside for him. 🫶🤭🫣👏👏👏
I love mother tuckers. Tina is the sweetest person ever. In the one booth there was a set of moon and stars candle holders that would have been a good buy.
I watch the owners of Mother Tuckers, Tina and Jason, on CZcams. They are so much fun. I'm in California so can't get to the store so thank you for the shop along.
What a great find…Mother Tucker’s store. The resale shop was so nice. We have Goodwill, Salvation Army and a couple of Christian based shops. You are so fortunate to be within driving distance of several stores. I would have to travel over an hour to get to another city large enough for these types of stores. Texas has its drawbacks…distance is one of them.
Hello Karen! I love watching your videos! I must tell you that you have inspired me to go thrifting and sell on ebay. I am having such a great time and making a bit of money!! Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
Hi Karen, I love your longer videos! I think you were right about the mortar and pestle being a juicer with bowl. I liked so many items in that shop and for some reason the yin and yang jacket right at the end really caught my eye. Have a lovely day. 🌹
Hi neighbor! It's so funny, I feel like I trail behind you. Just at Mother Tuckers today and come home to your video and you're there Friday! I picked up and looked at some of the same things you did! Ephrata Reuzit is one of my favorites. Hit them up a few times a month. The "crochet" you looked at and put down is called tatting. You use a little spool to make lace. Loved the vintage lamp, thanks for leaving it for me! Lol Btw the turtle footstool is gone, bummer! I know you like Goodwills but for me Mennonite thrifts are the best! Have a good week!
I need that little change purse I have the actual purse that is identical to that lol I love love love your channel I do a lot of binge watching lol keep on Thrifty
The grinding and bowl things go together and are called morder and pesle. Silent T. Sorry.... .I have a thing about words! Love watching your CZcams videos!
Hi Karen. I'm sure I've been to this shop but I'm going back for sure. I am an hour away. I want to see that moon & stars amber cake stand!! I hope it is 1/2 off. I collect mostly the Amberina, but I don't want tons of it. Less is more! Lol
Hi Karen, Just fyi, Alpaca blankets are south American not Mexican Aztec. Also, could you soon do a video on how long it takes you to list items, please?! Thank you!!
You’re a very good example to everyone regarding your spending rules and you make decisions and follow-through with those decisions. You have very good self discipline. It’s no wonder you are so successful.
Actually, elephants with their trunks up signify good luck, so it’s been my understanding that they are much more popular. When I was reselling I could only sell trunk up elephants vs trunk down. Maybe things have changed though 😊
The pair of Alabaster/Marble lamps (13:28) had me screaming - "How much are the lamps?"😂 I started tracking them at 13:08 and was happy to get a good view. Great video.
I love a good marble lamp, also! I found a pair of large ones at Goodwill for $7.99 each. Oh yes, hop into my cart now! Those things can sell for about $800.00 each on First Dibs, but I am keeping the ones I found! Came across a boudoir size one just recently at Salvation Army for $3.99. Keeping that one, too! Not bragging but I just love those things! I read recently that alabaster should be cleaned using 100% mineral spirits. Any other cleaner could damage them.
@@kathyaldridge7171 thanks for the tip on cleaning them. And its not bragging, its sharing.☺ We all like a great deal and a pair for $7.99 is a score for sure. Now I want to go out and look.
Karen That piece is definitely a crumb catcher. I love the persimmon glass piece you got. Tatting is done on the dresser scarf my grandmother done that kind of art. I love the store that you’re shopping in. I think I could stay their days and shop.
I love that ReUzit store! We don't have anything like that here in SW Georgia 😥. The displays and vignettes are great and everything is so clean! Hope we can go with you again soon! Hope Roger keeps you warm! I see you're having some rough weather!
My favorite place to thrift! Discovered Mother Tucker's on one of our Lancaster County vacations. I found some wonderful treasures there. I enjoyed shopping along w you Karen!
Wow, we have nothing like those stores in my area of the Florida Panhandle! You are so lucky, I could have watched a 3 hour video of you shopping at those fabulous stores! 😊
Hi 👋 Such a cool place !! So much better than goodwill. You might want to see IF they have anything IN that dumpster ❤ Your not doing anything wrong just to look 👀? Also I find antiques on the side of the road for FREE !!! I fix them up and usually keep them. It’s hard to get rit of antiques Im letting you know their is stuff to be found on the side of the road for FREE. The reason I’m telling you this in case you want to check out things I’ve found it is absolutely amazing and shocking experience!!! Why can’t you go get on a pottery wheel ? You can still do it !!
What lovely stores..great to find other sources than Goodwill's..I found one where I live too...they don't care too much about marking stuff high..which is so great.
I have found at places like this, if you ask the “cashier” if the seller will update take a certain amount that you are interested in, I have had the experience that the seller was notified and accepted the offer I gave the “cashier”
Definitely not mortar and pestle. You were correct, it was a bowl and juicer. I own several, also own mortar and pestle, handy in kitchen For grinding spices, etc.
At 10:09 you were looking at a black horse with a fiberglass backing. It was of a horse that was a lamp. I think it's definitely a crumb catcher because people did not use such fancy items on the floor. It's also way too small to be used as a dustpan.
Could the crumb catcher be missing a handle?
@@kathyaldridge7171 maybe a brush fitted into that hole.
