Belts have become my bread and butter. Especially vintage western or western bling.
I got a tip to wash Vera Bradley with just vinegar. I tried it and it took away the dirt and did not fade the fabric.
Neat! Do you hand wash in the sink in warm?
@@briannereeves9374 I put it in the washing machine on hand wash and lay out or hang to dry. It also helps clean my upright machine.
Great idea. My mom swears by vinegar. She also went to school with VB.
I use vinegar occasionally on almost my clothes. I just put it in the bleach dispenser.
Try it on your towels!!! They will be so soft and fluffy!
My daughter works as a cook in a restaurant and her clothes get flour and grease on them and have a really bad odor. Sometimes she does laundry at my house. When she does we put vinegar in with her shirts. It took ALL of it out. We couldn’t believe how bright they are.
***Just be aware vinegar is corrosive and can cause rust in your machine.***
I’m assuming you use white vinegar but do you also use detergent?

I’ve definitely had GW pull a few over on me. Chipped plates in the middle of a tapped stack and price stickers over a damaged area that I didn’t find out until AFTER I got home.
Yep... I've been bamboozled by GW before, also. It's very disheartening.
I think that the INTENTIONAL deception is despicable... And they wonder why they've lost our trust?

That tapestry is very "cottage core" looking. (Lol, my teens would love it.) I have only come across a victorian bell pull 1x in my life. They are unique and a such neat piece of history.
Don't know the value of the one she purchased, but these Corona Decor tapestries sell for hundreds on Ebay!

Loved the Avon plates. Wow, the sofa video was amazing, just love the sofa too. My favorite part was what sold,probably because I am nosey.
Hi Karen, thanks for taking us to a few locations. Even for a hit or miss day as thrifting is. New white sofa is pretty and big, remember it has to go out the same way if you move.
Oh, I am always telling people to unwrapp the tape, take off covers and inspect the item that you are buying. Many times we find a chip under the lids or a hidden Crack you would not see otherwise. Good to see you, nice video.
Massager Testing: loved seeing you knock it on the cart, when It didn’t turn on. My wife does the same thing. LOL
To test a plug, in a new store, that might not be turned on yet. Try the device either in a plug u know is on, because it has something powered up already running (unplugging what is there for a minute or up at a cash register/display) or grab another item, like a small lamp or device with a power light and check the outlet first, before deciding for sure the item you want is faulty. I’ve seen many dead plugs out on the floor at Goodwills..
Yeah - a new couch! Nothing more satisfying than a new one you get to pick out what you want. 😁
Ahhh, the brown leather gun cylinder belt holder was on the top right by the coach wallets! These sell well !

The pastel colored, hard plastic dishes are called Melmac, because they were made from melamine. The pastel colors were made between the 1940s to the 1950s, and are more sought after; not only for the age, but for their colors - or baby colors as you called them. Lol
White pieces marked Color-Flyte are highly collected. The rare ones are marked Lucent, and Russel Wright.
Also, look for melamine dishes marked Fostoria, Raymond Loewy, Joan Luntz, and Boontonware.
But I agree 100% that what Goodwill did was dirty, by putting damaged pieces in the middle of stacks. 🤬

I found that very same skirt on Pinterest. It’s an Ann M Cramer “Flynn” skirt. She’s a Minnesota designer.

I really appreciate that you take us along and show us what the Goodwill looks like inside. I live in Germany so it's nice to get a sense of the whole area. Some very good resellers zoom right in one the shelves and all we see is a tight view of mugs or glasses, etc. They don't show the shop. You put in so much effort into making your videos, it's fun to watch and learn, very much appreciated. I really hope your new Goodwill gets in great finds for you. Take care. 💕

Such a couch story! So grateful u have troops to call in! Back in the 1950s, my Aunt Bobbi lived in a 2d floor apartment (with interior stairs) in Brooklyn. She bought a piano and specifically went with an upright, figuring it would be easier to get in her door and up the stairs - nope, not happening. They had to take out her living room windows and hoist it with ropes!!!

Hilarious though that they put Waterford glasses on the shelves where all glasses go for 89 cents, BUT since they don't have to mark them, they don't give them a second look! H-E-L-L-O??? The zipper tab can be plain but it should have a metal piece that attaches the tab to the zipper and they should be showing coach name on it. I purchase a lot of coach items new at their store so I know it’s authentic

Hopefully that new Goodwill gets better inventory, our good one left our town and opened up a couple towns over. They bragged about being the largest GW in the region, but the inventory is absolute garbage now :( Thank you for the tip about checking stacked dishes, though, always good to keep in mind for sure, quite deceptive!
Just got to the Maurices denim skirt segment, and omg I used to work at Maurices and all the JW and modest folk used to come in all the time asking for them!! We used to stock them regularly, then the shipments just stopped, so I’m wondering if the time frames between the stop and the incredible resell price overlapped!

English Nic: I was watching Nic and Andrea Hills Sunday video and saw your comment pop up in the feed. I think Nic was the first Re-seller I ever watched on CZcams. He came up years ago, in a search about Listing DVD lots on eBay. I did the search after pulling about 700 movies from a Storage Unit auction and wondered how DVDs, lotted up by theme, were doing.
I still watch him for entertainment and to see how eBay in the UK differs from ours. Looking forward to seeing their new, ex-pub, once they move.

Karen, I missed you once again!! I was back in Lancaster for the last 6 days for another basketball tournament for my daughter at the “Nook” I was in the Route 30 Goodwill earlier on Friday and picked up the same Japanese lusterware vase that you purchased!! I really liked the color and pattern, but sold comps on Japanese lusterware vases weren’t great. But that color way and pattern… I should have trusted my gut! Beautiful find! I won’t be back to Lancaster until late Spring 2023 for more basketball. I hope to run into you when I return!

GW is notorious for that sneaky stuff with the tape. They got me once by completely taping a lamp together and when I got home I realized why ......it's because the glass lamp shade was broken they taped it together 🤦♀️

It seems that Goodwill does not allow employees to use their judgement and throw out unsellable items. You would think they would allow an experienced price tagger to do that.

I didn't pick up maternity either until one of my Goodwills had a brand new gorgeous little expecting mama dress form for $1.00!!!! Beautiful form with wood stand and finial - sh'e lives in our south parlor (12,000 sq ft Victorian) because she's just so adorable. clothesminded

When I grew up in Norway, my mother always made knitted jumpers, mittens, scarves etc. etc. If I said it was itchy, she just said it was not - it was just warm! 😅😅😅
My Mom’s side of my family is from Norway. I still have family over there (not sure the name of the town) I would love to go there one day.
Yeah our GW has burned me so many times with hidden damage I stopped going. But I have other places I can source. The worst is when you take a price sticker off and the covered s chip 🤦🏻♀️

Very disappointing about the plates! I just want to say that $7 for the frog into $18 is not 10X the money, which is what you have said in the past in terms of how you buy. I know I will get in trouble for this comment but a lot of what you are quoting on price vs your selling price does not seem to be in keeping with the 10X the money ($7 would be $70) in a video not long ago. I'm confused, lol. Great video as usual!
If I don’t make at LEAST a 300% markup on an item I will not buy it no matter what it is.
This rule has helped me avoid death piles and keeps my inventory at a steady flow.
You’re right. It makes no sense to buy a $7 frog to turn it into $18 (if that). That is probably why she put it back.

Another thing they do -- how about when they put the sticker on the front of something that could be damaged by that instead of putting it on the back or bottom? Why?
at my local goodwill they cut the tags of cashmere, wool, on their scarves, pashminas then I cannot sell as people want their label
Our goodwill doesn't carry stuff for resale on eBay. The stores are not worthy even shopping. Ok watching now meant to say quality stuff for resale. Also trying to figure out how you took windows apart to get couch in.

Your couch story is too funny! 😂 I have a house built in 1030. The stairs are narrow, closed in, and have a 6' ceiling on the first flight. When I moved in there was a hideous old metal desk that we had to take out through the window and lower with ropes down over my front porch to the ground. 😂. We do what we must! 😂

I’m in Central KY. Our color of the week for half price Mon -Sat and 99 cents on Sundays changes on Monday morning but our Goodwill stores have taken to sweeping the clothes racks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays pulling the items with the new color of the week. Yep, clothes with the the new half price color gets to hang on the racks for 1-2 days. I asked an employee once why they do this and he said they needed the space for new inventory. Is this happening anywhere else? So frustrating!
I have heard that other stores do this as well... not very cricket of them, is it?

I am in Southern New Jersey and they do that in all of our Goodwills also. It is so frustrating! I actually was skimming the top of a big box of clothing and it was all colors of the week tag. An employee walked by and said “oh that stuff is being shipped out” I asked if there was anything wrong with it she said no so I actually found a few good things including a brand new with tags North Face fleece jacket 😉
